  1. I'm one of those that loves T-Mobile for phone service, but I had a terrible experience with their WiFi 5G hotspot and therefore am not interested at all in trying the home internet. The hotspot would report that it only had 4G or even 3G service when my 5G phone had full bars. The home internet service, to my understanding, needs to be near 5G towers in order to function properly and based on the hotspot I don't think I would trust it.

With upcoming (or present) technology, they will figure a way to recover their share at the charging station including the federal part that is now collected at the pump. There may be fights and problems but something will have to happen to make it work.  Might require new federal laws and fights up to the supreme court ( not too supreme but the best someone can buy)  It will have to happen and it should have already been figured or factored.  Otherwise many state dictators ( sorry governors ) will do it and force a solution at some point.  I just hope if I am still a Texan when I switch we will have the relaible infrastructer to provide the juice  we need especially in winters and after big storms where the power is out for extended periods.

for pity sake how do you spell infrastructer. It keeps telling me I am wrong no matter how I spell it. (not a flying flip. Its just the principle.)

    Infrastructure 😉

  3. I don't offhand know of any wifi enabled dash cams although I suppose there might be some. One thing to remember about a dash cam though is that like the EDR ("black box") that can be subpoenaed by law enforcement or insurance companies, so can a dash cam if they are aware of its existence.

I have a dash cam for my protection but I think that if I thought an accident might be my fault the SD card might vanish. 😁

Maybe so but charging senior citizens like this that only drive to grocery store and back would be a burden to them and unfair.

So you will pay an added $200/year on your registration that for Texans is a bit of sticker shock, however, it is still dirt cheap compared to the cost of vehicle registration in other states.

Once, yes. Usual are kids on bikes, scooters, or just running around. Usually I an a fan of natural consequences, but now when it wakes us up. Plus that is the side with my utilities so running or walking on my hoses and cables is annoying.

That must be a really, really tight space for someone to hit a slide or walk on your hose or cable.

  6. I will continue to use the Garmin RV until a head unit comes along that will let me enter the height and weight of the RV so that it will route me around low overpasses or bridges that can not bear the weight. With the lifetime map updates I can keep the maps up to date. I also do not totally trust it, nor do I totally trust Google maps, so when I have my route I look it over using Google Earth or a paper map or both.

StarLink could not find a power supply for my Generation One dish.

Instead they sent me a new Generation Two dish at no cost to me and I set it up and got it running today.  Not a painless conversion since I was all set up for my previous dish and the power and router lines all changed.  It is not a mobile application.

BUT.....more than fair in my eyes to send a new dish.

No complaints on my part.  I would have been simpler with just a new power supply, but it seems like a fair solution.

I think that Starlink's solution was truly was more than fair and while you did struggle with resolution they came through in the end. As well, yYou ended up with an antenna that was smaller and lighter and a router that was better. The gen 2 router will operate over a wider spread of temps, is IP54 rated, and is 3X3, MU-MIMO (vs, 2X2 on gen 1). I have seen some RVers using that router outside so they do not have run a cable inside, they just use either the outlet on the side of the RV or in the basement.

This is for their Lithium refinery.

He did say "As you can see, we’ve got the Earth-moving equipment already here, so we’re going to begin construction immediately. We’re aiming to finish construction next year and then reach hopefully full production a year later,” Musk said."

However I think he was referring to surface bulldozers etc. I don't think the boring company has had anything to do with the Gigafactories or space Launch site and spacecraft manufacturing plants construction on the Gulf coast.

When/if he does his own Lithium mine/s the boring company may have a part there, or not.

And you are likely correct, however, the Boring Company has to have a lot of that earthmoving equipment as they don't just dig a tunnel without a lot of surface prep and finishing at the beginning and ends of those tunnels, so that was my thinking as to the possibility.

  9. There is an article in there about the new Space Force SNCO. I about spewed my coffee when I read what they call Space Force members. Guardians. What immediately popped into my head was that goofball movie "Guardians of the Galaxy". I think someone at the DoD has a wicked sense of humor.

The red and black wires typically indicate the hot wires, while the ground wire is usually green or bare copper. Make sure you have a clear understanding of which wire is which. And hiring a professional is always a great option if you're unsure or uncomfortable connecting the water heater to your home's electrical circuit.

In 12v  systems red in nearly always positive and black is nearly always negative. In 120v house wiring black is positive, white is negative and ground is green or bare wire.

"...and further state that if a rig comes in with them in place, they will remove them before the vehicle leaves their shop."

They are not installing them, they are just putting them back on where they originally came from.

And looking at the Centramatic website I am not sure why they need to even remove them in the first place. I like Costco generally but they do have some strange quirks. I buy all my tires at Discount Tire since the prices are competitive, there are a lot of locations to provide services such as balancing, rotation and warranty plus anything you get done is in the system for any other location to access.

I got the list of who is allowed use of Camp Carlson from their website.

As of last year they still would not allow holders of this ID card.

    25DSVICMBZT2ZTMQG7O6IEXTOI.jpg

That is the card issued to those who have been enrolled in the VA healthcare but are neither retired or disabled. There is a newer one now that also doesn't work.

I know what the website says, and I also know that since it is MWR it may or may b=not be up to date. As to the ID card above, I did say disabled. Not being the VA system I have no idea what the difference is between cards for disabled or not, if any. Best solution would be to call them and ask directly which I will do tomorrow if I remember.

The only military RV park that I know anything current about is the one at Ft. Knox, KY.  Camp Carlson Army Recreational Area is on the base but not inside of the gates and is next to US60 as it crosses the less developed area. They are open to Active-duty military, retired military, National Guard, Reserves, DoD Civilians, but not to ordinary veterans who didn't stay to retire, even with a VA medical ID. We have stayed there many times as guests of our son who was stationed there and has since retired there. It is a very nice park, quiet and attractive. It is located about 10 miles from the business section of Radcliff, KY and probably 5 miles from the main gate of Ft. Knox.

While I am not totally sure about that I think that with the Purple Heart and Disabled Veterans Equal Access Act of 2018 that will have changed. That act added several new categories of persons allowed to use MWR facilities. Now Medal of Honor and Purple Heart recipients, former POWs, disabled veterans (I think they need to be 100%) and veteran caregivers (enrolled in the VA Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers program) are allowed without having to be retired.

Have not bought gas in two months. For around town, our pattern is free energy as our city has several free chargers we can use. When we do charge at home, effectively we are paying .25 a “gallon”.

TANSTAAFL - Someone, and in the case you describe the local tax payers, is paying for the electricity. You can call it free all want but it isn't.

For the insurance coverage across the US, you need to carefully examine the medical plan you intend to use.  Many are not PPO and require you to use their specific in-network providers.  If you go outside their coverage area or providers, coverage is reduced.

Just to clarify, a PPO does not necessarily reduce coverage, i.e., an in network covered procedure is still covered out of network, but with a higher cost share or co-pay.
