  1. Good shot of my nephew in the first picture and I saw my niece on the couch too Oh, and the floor looks kinda nice too.
  2. Kirk, that link opend on LOW speed vehicles (max 35) mph and not UTV's. You have tp click tbe tab for UTV and ROV. Texas does not license/register off road vehicles, UTV or ATV or allow them in roadways. They are issued titles, but not registration. Was a big shock for me to see them with license plates and being used on the road in Wyoming.
  3. Somebody contact Steve Dixon. He had his garage/drom custom built and the last time I spoke with him he had nothing but praises for the company that did it. He parks his smart car inside and has tons or room for stoarge.
  4. If I had a pickup I would do something like this since my baby is 17ft long. But that won't work with an HDT. NoDirectionHome already posted my next consideration. After paddling a 17ft carbon fiber kayak all these years the idea of an inflatable just isn't appealing. Going to a 14ft Pakayak is at least tolerable.
  5. Holy mackarel. That confuses me even more. This looks like my installation..plain, and simple. You guys are way smarter than me...although I can see how it might make adding lights easier. Still confused about the inlet side. Oh well, all this confusion is making me tired. Think I'll drink a Dr. Pepper and go to bed.
  6. Okay, I get that it is "pretty" but I still don't understand the "why". My jackalopee (now that I moved it someplace where the waterproof box doesn't fill with water) has one nice big black cable running in and one nice big black cable running out. The factory cable runs in and my cable runs out, all the way to the plug for the trailer. I'm just a dumb old redneck. But what is the need/reason for the added wiring terminal blocks? I also don't understand all those exposed connections. Looks like a short waiting to happen, unless you keep that compartment totally empty.
  7. I'm confused too. The connections are all labeled inside the Jackalopee. Why not run the wires straight into and out of the jackalopee? What is the purpose of the added connection? I ran 7 wire cable from inside the jackalopee all the way to the rear of my truck where the plug is. One constant and complete cable with no connections to worry about in the middle.
  8. So the next question is, if the gizmo in the shop works after you add wheels, could you winch yourself back down the ramp too?
  9. I have seen flatbed wreckers use a device like this. They strap the motorcycle to the eye-bolts on the cross piece which holds the bike upright and then winch it onto the flatbed of the tow truck. Just looked at the Condor thing...looks real similar ony the Condor looks better built. I'm thinking you could make something like this in your garage.
  10. Well let us know when she drives it And my trip through there was several years ago. Spent a few hours in the Walmart parking lot looking for tires (Walmart tire center was closed). We back tracked to Hogansville. It wasn't the vacation we planned but we still had a nice time. That is pretty country over there.
  11. Newnan? Heck, I blew two tires and punched a hole through the floor of my old travel trailer in Newnan. First tire had a major tread seperation and took out the second tire. Together they took out the floor, the drawer under the oven and the furnace located under the refrigerator. We hung out in Hogansville till the insurance adjuster came out a few days later. If ya see the missing cups out of my muffin pan or the lid to my crock pot along I-85 I'd be grateful if you would return them to me.
  12. Great story...and congrats on the new truck
  13. I have the "Premiere Coach" and have for years...it costs me $149 a year. Towed my truck from Hutch to Wichita.
  14. Brad, maybe because yours is looking at "no" signal and his is getting "conflicting" signal?
  15. Great information, Thanks. Wish mine had been as easy as ABS sensors
  16. Try your local Volvo dealer for a Freedomline mechanic, most of them still keep their people up to date on that tranny or so my dealer says. And the doubler is right on top of the transmission. It's right under the access hatch in the floor, but I'm told that a "good" mechanic can get it off from below.
  17. Huh? It works for me. So I went back to that thread and copied the link to the part.http://www.ase-supply.com/Sure_Power_41222_DC_to_DC_Converter_p/sp-41222.htm
  18. Check this thread http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=113786&p=729930 There is a direct link to the part and the part number. When my Freedomline started acting up it wouldn't shift up and wouldn't go into "auto" until it warmed up. It eventually went belly up totally. It was also throwing codes that led my mechanic to "guess" it was the doubler. He recommended having the local dealer verify his over the phone diagnosis. Turns out he was right.
  19. The information that I am getting from my contacts with DPS in Austin say that after October 2016, ALL Class A and B license (CDL and exempt) will be performed only at the 25 testing stations listed in the PDF I linked to in my previous post. I have been unable to learn if the driving test will be standardized between the two but government logic leans heavily to the exam being the same for all vehicles. According to that PDF and the changes in the CDL test, I am glad I already have my Class A.
  20. From the DPS webpage...notice it refers to "CDL" Notice: Effective July 1, 2016 all CDL skills tests will be administered at 25 designated locations within Texas. Beginning October 2016, new federal regulations will impact the Texas CDL Program. A Commercial Learner Permit (CLP) will be issued to drivers who are applying to drive a commercial vehicle. A CLP must be held for a minimum of 14 days prior to being allowed to take a CDL skills test. This applies to original applicants, modifications in grade and adding endorsements which require a skills test. Sequence of administered exams: The pre-trip and basic skills test must be completed prior to the execution of a road skills test. Skills tests are now in three phases and applicants must pass the previous phase prior to moving to the next phase. Pre-trip walk around Backing skills maneuvers Road test Pre-trip skills test: The current pre-trip written test will convert to a randomized pre-trip walk around test. Revised scoring criteria: The scoring of the basic maneuvers and road-test will change. Points will be deducted for encroachments and excessive pull-ups during the execution of the basic skills test. Basic skills testing area: The basic skills testing maneuver area must be marked utilizing cones to properly score the basic skills exam. Additional basic skills test maneuver: In addition to the current straight-line backing and parallel parking maneuvers, an off-set backing maneuver is added. Road Test change: Increase in the number of maneuvers performed during the road test. More info available here.
  21. Phil, are you in my neighborhood?
