Has anyone found a wall mounted vent? I have a stove vent tube  that exits through the wall and have tried to find something I could mount to the wall and t into the tube. Most of them are too deep or have a light  that I don't want or need.

I wonder if you couldn't modify a 4" computer cooling fan to do an acceptable job .

Oh sorry i wasn't plain. I want to use it for wiring not extension cord. Just finding it cheaper than romex. But I am finding better prices by the rolls.

I see . From a previous thread , you want to relocate your electric service connect point ?

I used a UF type wire/cable when I rewired the power to the front section of our Monaco . That was about 11 years ago and there's never been any sign of malfunction . ;)

  3. I think you meant to say ROMEX and It's likely over 7 bucks a foot .

That's way over 200 bucks for 30 feet , without any ends applied .

Amazon has a Camco 30 foot 50 amp complete extension cord for about 130 bucks .

    https://www.amazon.com/Camco-Extension-PowerGrip-Convenient-Carrying/dp/B0024ECIP0

Anyway , I carry a 65 foot 50 amp extension . I've used it more than enough to make it worthwhile . ;)

  4. Today I repaired the roof access ladder on our Monaco .

Three of the six plastic receivers had loosened from their respective standoffs , making for an interesting climb .

All the screws used in those receivers were rusted .  I figured the remaining three receivers would likely soon follow the loosening act .

Anyway , I had screws too short and screws too long , but none just right . Off to the hardware I went , where I taught a couple new employees what round head screws looked like , what barbed T nuts are and what ( rubber ) conical faucet washers can be used for .

Back at the 'ranch' , I removed all the plastic receivers and rusted screws which broke rater than turn out .

The nuts that those screws originally turned into where even more rusted that the screws , so useless .

The receivers were still in decent condition . I used a hacksaw and made six cuts in each of the barrels of the receivers . The cuts allow the barrels , which slide into the standoffs , to spread .

I inserted the screws through the ladder uprights . The screws then went through the receivers and the conical washers and finally into the barbed T nuts .

I placed each receiver and parts into their respective standoffs and thoroughly tightened the screws .

The end result is a solid , good looking ladder that I have no qualms climbing . ;)

Thanks for popping off and stirring the pot Kirk. Just when this was a decent post.

    FYI :

This page contains a THREAD . Your response is a POST in that thread .

Just thought I'd stir the pot , too . :)

  6. Our Monaco has a rear facing camera with a microphone .

DW can be well behind and  I can hear her directions .

Sometimes mirrors don't do much good , specially when the sun is in just the right place to make them useless .

Anyway , I often back the rig , with trailer attached . About the only time I get into much trouble is in loose gravel as the trailer takes very small corrections to right a direction and the gravel often will cause an over correction .

As for 'helping' other drivers , I usually watch first ... If it's obvious that they need help , I offer or sometimes just step in and ask them where they want to end up , then 'help' .

That would work for any photo on any website, but a series of individual links to photos seems like more work than most want to do.  In my opinion.  When “photo bucket” was free that’s what everyone used because it was one link.  I think Facebook is just easier because you skip the middle step and upload right from your phone.

Hmm , I just uploaded the image below directly form the picture file on my laptop .

Granted the allowed image size is way too limiting .

On the subject of photos, this is just a test.  Shutterfly is all about making projects like albums or coffee mugs, so they don’t charge to upload photos.  I wanted to see if it works to post a link.  https://link.shutterfly.com/LNuXgLlceub NO promotion here, just a test.

    Link worked fine .

Why not just post the pic ?

Is that like the Army way, one section of TP, poke your finger through the middle and clean yourself, pull the TP off your finger to wipe it clean. 🙃

Years ago we bought black tank additives, Kirk suggested more water to keep all solids covered eliminated any need for chemicals. That works great. Then we dry-camped at the Navy base on Key West and tried reducing water consumption. A waste can for TP was suggested by another retired military guy there. That works great too, it extended dump periods while reducing water consumption by 2 days before driving the MH to the dump station again.

It not for everyone and that's OK too.

I don't know about that Army thing . I was in the Air Force . I guess we had a little higher standard . LOL

As for the 'side bag' , that simply doesn't seem very necessary .

We , DW and I , can pretty easily do 2 weeks before a dump is required . And  , no clogs or 'side bags' involved . ;)

There ya go! Clog busting 101.

BTW, Ann, stop putting toilet paper down the commode, do it like almost all of Mexico, have a special used paper container handy.

Sorry to disagree , Ray , but we've been putting TP down the tube for the last 13 years without a single issue with tissue . See what I did there ? ;)

And , we aren't real picky as to which paper we use . So long as it is septic safe .

Just use twice as much water than you think needed . The more paper used , the more water needed .

A lot of 'folks' use way too much paper for the job at hand , which is likely half the reason clogs .

    Honestly , it's about as simple as 3 seconds time . :)

    Long story short:

These product failed to remove or affect the pitch:
    WD 40
    Mineral Spirit  (purchased at Walmart)
    Turpentine  (purchased at Ace Hardware)

Turpentine seemed to have some small affect on the pitch on the glass and took a lot of rubbing - too much rubbing required for me to try it on the paint.
And after sitting in the Arizona sun for a long time, the pitch is really baked on.

I will continue my efforts at pitch removal and will respond here with results.

Maybe you should change your approach just a tiny bit and apply pitch to the total surface of the vehicle and live with a non-factory finish . LOL

It may not look as pretty , but ... ;)

  12. I run steer / all position tires front and back on our Monaco .

I've been stuck a couple times , because of soft ground and aided by the moisture .

I doubt that lug tires would have prevented or even helped .

Now , if I have any question as to solidity of my path , I get out and walk the ground .

    Looks can be deceiving .

The screws holding the cabinet door hinges over our bed have started to pull out of the wood, causing the doors to sag. I could probably patch and redrill the holes for the hinges but it seems like the movement of the trailer is bouncing them pretty good. Is there a more solid solution? I'm almost thinking drilling all the way through the frame and putting a couple of thru bolts in it.

Depending on the type of frame material , I usually try the hole fill and reset the screw .

If that doesn't do the trick , I fill the hole with what ever and use a longer screw that gets into new material .

That generally does good . ;)

As units age they require more upkeep!  Sure hope I never need that procedure.

re: hearing aids. I've been told several times hearing aids would alleviate my tinnitus I've had since 1983. An  audiologist  told me hearing aids would mask the tinnitus and make it more bearable  Just what I need, more noise in my head___. Nope, ain't gonna happen.

    My sentiments , exactly .
