    Pat & Pete,

I have been registered for Imgur for a while now. Thanks for the heads up!

I read the new rules etc. and it seems they are getting rid of off color pics and nudity or some such that folks put on Imgur.

I also have my own domain I have to get back online I could easily use to host my own pics rather than just use my FaceBook page. Right now it has a placeholder like the stock pics that come with picture frames!

Since I don't post nudity and pornography anywhere, let alone on Imgur, none of the new policies will affect my pics.

I did read through the Imgur link you provided.

:) Being as there's no 'like' feature on this site 👍

  2. FYI

On May 15, Imgur will be deleting all photos/videos that were uploaded by anyone who wasn't a logged-in user.

As Imgur never required people to log in/register to host content, it's likely that any members who used that site at any point in the last decade will fall foul of this decision. Any threads containing pictures/videos hosted on Imgur will, on May 15, become broken links just like they did after Photobucket pulled the plug.

  3. When we started our full time life style , gas was closing in on 4 dollars a gallon . I planned on that , so when the prices dropped we were in good shape .

Basically , we travel north and south depending on the season . It might take us a couple months to get from mid Texas to mid Michigan .

Like Kirk says , unless you're in escape mode , just take it easy . You're not on anyone's clock except your own .

A lot of 'new' full-timers think they have to get there . But , they are missing the best part of the adventure .

Stick to the smaller roads and stay off the interstates as much as possible . You'll likely live longer with a lot less stress . ;)

Just a follow up.  None of the solvents that I tried worked.  Even the promised pitch and tar remover - which I tried on the cab roof where it would not show - failed - but leaving it on a bit too long did soften the paint.

The Arizona sun has now hardened the pitch and seems to have crystalized it - I can chip it off with a fingernail.
I've chipped off enough of the now brittle pitch to a point that  a good rubbing compound should remove remnants.

Alas, I have reservations at the same park with the "pitch" trees.  This time my stay will be early in the year (not late summer like last year) and hopefully the pitch is not flowing yet.

    From Google :

"Typically, you'll see the most sap flow in spring and early summer. During winter, sap slows down and then picks back as spring approaches. Plus, as the temperatures change from cool to warm, the pressure increases, which can force a bit of sap to drip."

Man at scrapyard actually was going to pay me for it. I was so glad to find a way to dispose of it I declined.

I had wondered how I was going to do away with our old fridge , too . Then the fellow came by and offered to load it on his pickup .

Didn't take more than a breath and a smile to start helping him load it . ;)

I got the wood off today. Stored away. Fridge gone to scrapyard now. Wife and I taking today realized the only other item in our home that hasn't been replaced is the dryer. Well fireplace also but it don't work either just not replaced yet. So 20 year mark it.

Good you won the battle . ;)

We were fortunate that one of the park maintenance guys was a scarper and gladly took our old fridge , once we got it outside the rig .

Just a note. Teton had glued beautiful wood to front of our fridge. It seems a shame to throw away but it is on good. But i was surprised at how heavy the doors were due to this wood.

Too bad the wood is glued on .

Our Norcold 4 door had thick oak face wood that was held in place with side channels . I removed the wood . Made the doors half the weight . After the new fridge was in place , there was about 10" of open space on the side . I cut the removed wood and made a couple of vented doors to cover that open space . Turned out pretty decent .

  8. Our new fridge came a couple days before we were ready for it . We just put it under the big awning and plugged it in to make sure it functioned properly , until I was ready .

I learned a long time ago that new doesn't guarantee it will be right , out of the box . ;)

It's too big a job to have to do it more than absolutely necessary .

  9. When we replaced our fridge , I removed the door , including the jam ( frame ) , to get the new unit inside .

That gave us about 1/4" on either side clearance . Slow and easy got it done .

The side window was the next move that wasn't needed . It's pretty easy to remove the complete window with frame . Just have to be sure to add caulk or replace the seal when putting it back in place .

Then there's the height that has to be dealt with . If you have many hands or a fork lift ... ;)

Gotta ask...... Is your truck not an older unit which you've re-furbished?  If so, why do you seem to be stuck on newer trailers?  There are some pretty good older units out there for cheap.

And , very likely better built . ;)

  11. The city paid you well for that five feet , right ? LOL

Years ago , I built a shed that matched the exterior of the house it was behind , including the 'barn' style doors with dual glass knobs . Two doors , each with a knob , of course . One knob being nonfunctional .

Anyway , I wanted a positive latching as I didn't want the doors to belly out where they met .

I simply recruited a garage door twist mechanism and used solid rods instead of the flat metal . The rods were mounted vertically to use the upper jam and the floor as 'latch plates' .

On the door with no mechanism , I secured a T-astragal without the I . I wasn't too concerned about any seal the I part would afford .

Hopefully , that^ draws a decent picture of what I did . As far as I know the 'system' is still in use about twenty five years later .

If it is leaking around the perimeter of the glass you can probably seal it with duct tape as a temporary fix. I have done that in similar situations successfully. You do want to use a quality tape as cheap ones will leave a residue when removed.

If there's tape residue , WD40 will take it off quick . ;)
