Smart Car winched on/drove off fine!

1st time loading the Smart car.  Drove 30miles and it worked fine!

We're excited!!  Plenty of room for a drom box too.

Tie downs worked great.  Seemed to stretch a bit after 30 miles, so guess a good SOP is to retighten after the first hour and check them at each rest stop.

Winched it up and plenty of clearance (50in deck height), with my 3ft ramp extensions, so I drove it off...no problems,  Much faster than winching.

Next project, this fall will be a custom drom box, after I lower the exhaust.

Are you using basket tie downs or the single strap with the rubber tread blocks?

My baskets always were loose but after I got the single strap style I have never had the come loose, and I have to be careful not to over tighten them.

I found that US Cargo sells just the straps and rubber blocks for about 18.00 each or less, working off a failing memory 🤣.
