Wifi security bug called "KRACK"

Recommended Posts

I got email from Pepwave today saying they will have updated firmware for my wireless router today to stop the new WPA2 security problem.  Then I started seeing articles about it.  Turns out most devices have the bug and changing your password will not help.  The attacker just needs to be close enough to watch your wifi traffic, or the wifi traffic of the wifi hotspot you are using to create their own spoofed network.  Anyway, here is more information - https://www.cnet.com/news/krack-microsoft-windows-amazon-frequently-asked-questions/ , https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2017/10/severe-flaw-in-wpa2-protocol-leaves-wi-fi-traffic-open-to-eavesdropping/ . https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/16/heres-what-you-can-do-to-protect-yourself-from-the-krack-wifi-vulnerability/, and https://www.wired.com/story/krack-wi-fi-wpa2-vulnerability/ .
