Antarctic CO2 Hit 400 PPM for First Time in 4 Million Years

Glad you liked it. Joel Barker uses a demonstration that proves that when paradigms change, many people cannot see it even when it is right in front of them. For some it is not intentional, they literally can't see things right in front of them that don't adhere to their rules of how things work:

Well RV...... Was not intended to dispute scientific American's findings of 400 ppm or the date. Surprisingly the amount of information that could be gleaned from ice core samples, best recollection was it didn't go back that far. Was interested on how they derived 40 million years. Now I know.

If population increase isn't causing co2 increase then what is.

Star fish... Man never realized his attempts to save star fish they were escaping from toxic ocean water....Great barrier reef is about dead. And the 600 turtles dyeing on the beach in Australia because the water is too warm to support their food..

Our summer place is a 60,000 in acre island and in the past 10 years over 100,000 trees have died. Soon 7 billion more trees Will meet the same fate.

If my planting 42 trees a year solved my addition to co2 problem I would crow myself. Unfortunately we have two autos...and don't have time to plant 7 billion more.

Let's make a vote......co2 levels have risen because of

1. Population

2. Natural causes.

If you vote for two, hope you are around to see the answer.

BTW RV. I learned by observing that we had thousands of trees thru observation now their gone

My only point is, what to do about it? If we killed every man woman and child in America tomorrow it wouldn't change a thing - as the Chinese (or perhaps others) would simply move in on the vacant land we left them and start building coal powered power plants at the rate of one per week, start building much more polluting cars and trucks than we have, pop-out babies like there's no tomorrow (maybe they are right?) etc.

We can't stop them. They must stop themselves, and they show no desire or will to do so. It seems that Thomas Malthus was right, with one caveat. It will not be the scarcity of food that will be humanity's end, but the accumulation of our waste that will be our ultimate demise. Maybe a good thermonuclear war, coupled with a genetically engineered super plague pandemic would set us back a spell and give us some time to come to our senses? Eeh, I doubt it.

Doomed I tell you! Ah well, eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we die! But at least we have today. Let's not waste it stressing over things we have zero control over. We will do what we can reasonably do and they will either come to their senses or not. It is what it is. Hakuna Matata. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xB5ceAruYrI
