FRONT HUB QUESTION FOR YOU HDT AND MDT OWNERS

Recommended Posts

My front wheels have very fine streaks of oil on our 2015 Sportchassis.  I regularly check the hub oil level and it is full virtually to the orange mark made at the factory, and just a fraction below the full mark on the window.  There is a fine oil residue on the inside of the hub cap.  My question is is this normal or is there something else I should check.  Thanks in advance, Dick

If oil is on outside its more likely the gasket on cap or fill plug,

Right! I've seen the screws on older trucks holding the hubcap on so loose I wondered how it held oil.

To Bobi and Dick; replacement gaskets and hubcaps come with either 5 or 6 screw holes. Take a picture of yours before you head to the local truck parts store if you need a new one.
