ANG0225
We are on the road 100pct. I work about 60 hours per week. This makes for some long days for the DW. We know plenty of people in bricks and sticks houses that work over the internet/phone lines. Rarely are we in a spot that has either real strong WIFI or landlines.. Has anyone else been able to work through this? Fairly certain she would feel alot better if she had work to do!
GlennWest
I work mostly 60 hours weekly. We currently on 5/10s. DW does get lonely. We have 2 small dogs, that helps. She watches a lot of TV, mostly politics and religion. Don't really know of any work that pays worthwhile from a coach. DW turns 65 in January. 2003 Teton Grand Freedom towed with 2006 Freightliner Century 120 across the beautiful USA welding pipe.https://photos.app.goo.gl/O32ZjgzSzgK7LAyt1
Kirk W
Have you considered taking one of the resident volunteer positions that she could do all or most of? Something like a campground host position or one of those where they accept singles might work out well and give her not only a feeling of contributing but also the satisfaction of a job well done? ANG0225
Thanks Glenn West Kirk that would be ideal. She has inquired into jobs at the various parks we have been to. KOA in Reno said they wouldn't hire any residents of the parks. The one we are at now said the only people they hire is college kids! Ideally she would find something with Pilot, Flying J, or Loves where she could transfer from store to store. Before she came on with me she managed 6 convenience stores. She does great at any job she does, it's just she's not as adept at landing a job.
Kirk W
I was not thinking of a paid position in a commercial park but rather doing a volunteer position which supplies an RV site and no pay but rewarding work. ANG0225
Have not seen where that is available. If we were interested in that, how would we pursue it?
Kirk W
The best place to start would be at volunteer.gov or visit the state park website for whatever state that you may be interested in. Both of those are free sites and nearly all states now use park volunteers as campground hosts as do many county and city parks. You can get some ideas of what is needed at various agencies that use resident volunteers at our website if you wish. Good travelin !...............KirkFull-time 11+ years......
