You are the second one to report this so I sent off a note to Travis about it. I doubt that there is much that can be done but it is worth reporting so that the IT folks can look into it.

That's a good vehicle for getting a virus spread around or some other device for capturing key strokes on your PC, such as passwords, account numbers, etc. Be wary of opening spam (emails) from sources you do not know, especially if they have attachments they want you to open.

You can hit the report link in the PM and it will send a notice about the problem, gives the real forum admins a chance to delete the spammer and possibly clean up any unopened PMs.

 

The weekend moderators can't see PMs so there is little we can do about it unless they also spam post a topic.
