rbertalotto
2006 Dodge Cummins, 4X4....170,000 miles Runs like a top, but time for some proactive work Sent a deposit of nearly $10K to Auto Wurks Diesel in Caldwell, NJ. I've been following articles in various magazine and online about these guys. Drove four hours to meet them and was VERY impressed with the work they do. They quoted me for the following: BD Exhaust Brake BD Torque Converter BD Tow/Haul Transmission BD High Performance Intercooler New Transmission cooler Mishimoto Radiator Various other parts Total with labor....$12,577.06 Parts are ordered. Will drop truck off for a couple weeks. Hope to have it done by Dec 1 Looking forward to much better performance towing my trailers and another 11 trouble free miles! rbertalotto
Settin' your sites kinda low, ain't ya??? LOL! All I wanted was a transmission that stays in lock up in 2nd and third. I was going to do the "Green Wire" switch mod, but then I got a new trailer and was coming down a 7% mountain road and I suddenly realized that diesels have no back pressure for engine braking!!! So an exhaust brake was in order. Them looking at the radiators, they have seen better days....So what the heck! I don't want a new truck with all the particulate filters, blue fluid and more electronics. I like my truck and I've done so many mods over the last 10 years, I don't want to revisit on a new truck. So $12K in stuff or $65,000 for a new truck........No brainer.....I hope to get 1,000,000 miles before I pass on.....I need to retire! Alie&Jim's Carrilite
That's actually on the cheap side..... I had over 45k in the motor and trans alone, just in parts. I did most of the labor, except for the machine shop work. Jim's Adventures Old Spacecraft.... Who knows whats next
