coachmac9 Posted May 4, 2016 Report Share Posted May 4, 2016 If you have reservations for the park for the next two-three weeks please call ahead of time...as of right now it will be closed for two weeks and will be evaluated again at that time. I would imagine all the parks on the lower end of Lake Wright Pattman are closed also so if you are planning on staying up this way (north east Tx) you should definitely come up with a plan B. The water levels are expected to be as high or higher when the lake crests next week as they were in January. If that happens it will be a while for the levels to drop to safe levels again. Had to turn away several travelers yesterday late in the day. Definitely not what you want to encounter when you have been traveling all day! TXiceman Posted May 4, 2016 Report Share Posted May 4, 2016 Brazos Bend State PArk has been closed since about April 6. They are working toward reopening May 16 or 17. Water was in the camping loops, shelters and most of the trails. Lots pf pressure washing, repairing the power pedestals and once the trails dry out enough , clear all of the downed trees and debris. Check their Face Book feed for updates.
