champ_49
My question is simple I think, but not a simple solution that I can see. I have a 5th wheel that I want to put vinyl flooring in place of the carpet. What do you do about the transition from the slide to the main floor. Right now there is a carpet that basically hides that transition. That's not going to happen with vinyl. Interested in what others do about this? Thanks in advance Dave
nana25k
When we installed hard wood in our previous rig we removed the slide carpet in one piece, took it to a small carpet company. They duplicated it, bound it and we reinstalled. Looked great and it retained that "flap" to cover the transition
KRum
Here is a good read... http://www.loveyourrv.com/summer-renovation-part-5-replacing-the-rv-slide-flooring/
champ_49
Thanks for the replies and although I looked at that video KRum I really didn't care for the transition they did myself. Interested in what others have done. Dave
GR "Scott" Cundiff
We left the slide carpet and only replaced the carpet on the main floor with vinyl. However, I read somewhere about using a garage door "skirt" to cover the transition. Since we're satisfied with what we did I never looked into it farther.
