Pieere
I have installed Linux on two computers. One being the Gateway NE-522 with the AMD quad core processor it works real good but shuts down kinda slow compared to the Acer Aspire E 15 with the Celeron N2840 Processor; this one doesn;t boot unless you use the Ctrl-F10 key at bootup. I have reinstalled the Linux on this unit with the DVD and the USB stick now twice and it hasn't corrected the boot up! I use the Firefox browser with DudkDuckGo as my search engine. I am starting to go through the tutorials now. I hope i can get familiar with it as i have been doing MS Windows from around 2002. :D Living Life One Day At A Time! skp51443
Mint is a popular choice, look for some forums on it and you should be able to get your issues on booting sorted. A general hint would be to look at your GRUB (Grand Unified Bootloader) settings and see where it is putting the boot code and then swapping your BIOS settings to boot from there. First rule of computer consulting: Sell a customer a Linux computer and you'll eat for a day. Sell a customer a Windows computer and you'll eat for a lifetime.
