  1. The gall bladder surgery sure has improved. Terry has a big long scar from where he had it done years ago but our daughter's scar is almost nothing. Thank goodness for advancement in medicine. Hope Carol recovers quickly. I'm sure she'll feel much better now that it's gone too. .
  2. We ate there when we were in Foley too. What a great experience for sure AND the food was terrific!
  3. Curiosity here .... Who of our group -- 2008-2009 (however, this really includes all the way up to some in 2012 class) and Classless (when it became an open group in 2013) monitor this forum?
  4. I think many of the Elks are having trouble financially. We think part of it is due to not changing to capture younger people with the money to pay the dues. We've stayed at Elks as we moved and talked to lots of them about it. Some have embraced the Scouts and younger groups. They're doing better than those that won't change. The Elks in Boulder City said they lost a lot of older members when they cut smoking out but then started gaining younger folks. I hate to see them go away. We noticed online that the Hill Country is getting hit with storms again. I'm so glad we're out of it for now. I guess I should look at the weather forecast before I say that though. Be safe!
  5. Yes. We discussed you and Lynn. How was your long travel day to Johnson City? As you can see our travel days were very different than what we told you they would be. It looks like more storms in the Hill Country. Stay safe!
  6. HAHA You're so funny! It was great seeing you again. It always is. We went to Adobe Deli and those were the biggest and best french dip sandwiches we have ever had. We almost had to ask for to-go boxes when we were originally served! Getting here a day early meant no storms but I was zonked. It was a mighty early time to bed last night but it'll take a while to adjust to two time zone changes in two days when we cross over into Arizona in a few hours. We hope those storms are finally behind us. We'll be in Tucson for about a week before we head on into the Phoenix area for another week or two. I'm glad it was an easy fix. Those easy fixes are the best fixes. Take care and thanks again. It was great seeing you.
  7. Egads! I guess we better find ear muffs to protect them if you're going to be chewing them! Good deal on the saving money. Glad you got your compromised card. We can't send for ours for another week so we may be making a trip to the bank for a temporary too.
  8. We're ready for a little cooler weather but thinking we're not going to see much of that for a while. In the meantime, we've probably seen more classmates this year than ever . Currently giving Roger and Lynn a bad time in Texas.
  9. We also were notified last week that we have ANOTHER compromized credit card. We can continue using the one we have until the end of the month. Don't know if we'll be someplace long enough in the next couple of weeks to order our mail though. If not, send me your number and I'll use it instead of the one we have. Oh, I also have an amount that we're disputing. Don't know how that's going to end up yet. I'd lend you a dollar but we might need the one we have.
  10. Got through the storms and put the levels down in Columbus, Texas. We're slowly trekking west, slowly.
  11. You're right. I don't lose the weight. I just misplace it. I'm thinking your fund managers haven't heard of selling high. Low is for buying not selling. I hope you didn't tip the barber and complained. The good thing about a hair cut is that the hair does grow back.
  12. What? You're telling our secrets? I have a stash of purses and I just bought another one when we were in Orlando. I think I found another brand I like! Thanks to both of you it's now time to start another diet. I hate this. It seems every spring I have to think about a diet. I lose weight in the summer and then I meet up with the RVing friends and they contribute to weight gains. It's a bad crowd.
  13. We had to find propane connections today. In a small town that's a little difficult but we managed. Once this nasty storm passes over we'll continue our trek west. It's a big one and we don't travel in high winds, hail or tornadoes. Eventually we'll arrive in Deming but it'll be a few weeks and much sooner than we originally thought. Travel does that to us.
  14. Oh no! You're going to get it too? I'm really tired of running from storms and worrying about damage. We'll have it in sections going through bits at a time possibly until Friday. No more gulf life for me. Next time I'll leave the driving to the pilots if I want to visit Florida or this area.
  15. Well, I love Adobe Deli and especially their Reubens. However, don't particularly like buckboards but we're due for another bumpy ride. I'm beginning to think storms are all we're going to get. Now we're expecting another nasty one. When will they stop? Arizona border?
  16. You would look good in a pink jeep !!!
  17. Freddy & Delcie -- So sorry to hear that. I had hoped that maybe we'd be able to connect but we all have circumstances that change our plans often. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Give Delcie a big hug and let her know we're thinking of her.
  18. Freddy - When you heading towards Deming? We're charting our plans -- written in chalk, of course.
  19. Sounds like a lot of fun. We had looked at those Pink Jeep tours but that's as far as we got.
  20. Thanks.. that might be where we'll head as we waste time before we head on to Texas.
  21. In the old Elks book we have it doesn't show it but online it is listed with some RV sites. I also thought about the Slidell Elks but not sure what one is better. I'm sure we'll be there and gone before you get there .... is that right?
  22. Anyone ever stay at the New Orleans Elks?
