  1. Oh, Lee, so sorry to hear that. I was so hoping you were improving. Have your grand niece keep us informed if it's difficult for you to do so. I wish we had asked for her email before. Don't forget to sneak that cranberry juice in. Cranberries are supposed to be good for you ! It may be just what the doctor ordered. In the meantime, you take care of yourself as best you can. Nurses can be just as fun as those cowgirls. If they don't treat you right, you let us know and we'll all come and help you escape. We all want you know that we hope nothing but the best for you and hope we'll see you back on the road again soon. If you need help, you let us know. Terry / Jeri
  2. No. I had been talking about winter plans. Wondered if John would be spending the winter in Florida since he'd be on that coast.
  3. Eastward in the winter? Does that mean another year in Florida 'cuz you certainly aren't going to be much farther north than that?
  4. So sorry to hear about your father. Regardless of anything else, I know it's tough on both of you and we wish you nothing but the best. We don't really have winter plans. Our winter usually starts earlier than winter anyway. We know we'll be in Jacksonville, Florida the middle of October for a wedding. We also figure we'll spend much of the winter in the Phoenix area but don't know yet where exactly. In addition to that we may spend a little time in Palm Springs (or not). I'd also like to do Borrego Springs because we never have and we'll probably be in San Diego a good couple weeks too. Actually, I might start thinking about the reservations there sooner than later. Disneyland is in heavy chalk. Then, we really like the Tucson area but as you know, everything is subject to change if better ideas come along. That's it. Next week you might read something different. Anyone else have plans in ink?
  5. Well, we certainly got a kick out of it when he told us he might be on the TSA No Fly List.................. boy, the folks we hang around with !
  6. All the chatter seems to be on the Class-less forum .... Here we go to the top again on this one !!
  7. Send us all the GPS coordinates of those biters. That way we'll be able to stay away. Jeff ... are you still on the "No fly list" Lee ... we're all hoping that you'll be as good as new in no time. I bet you're really looking forward to getting back in your Hornet !!
  8. Well, I'm glad you kept the Navion and the Hornet. It won't be long until you'll have things in good shape. So nice that you have friends there to help you. So, are you niece and nephew talking to you? I'm glad you got to stay in New Mexico. That's more home to you than South Carolina right now. How are you physically? Did the mini-strokes go away? Are you keeping busy during the day? Keep improving and before long you'll be as good as new!
  9. Back in Washington. Ick ... sounds like nasty weather is everywhere. Isn't this almost summer? Lee -- How you doing? Are you back in your "home" or still in the Navion? Feeling better? I certainly hope so. Terry left this morning with SIL on a long drive to Texas. Robert and his brother are clearing out his father's house -- lots of work. Terry didn't want him to have to drive by himself. All I can say is better him than me. If it's not too nasty today, I just might try to catch the Rose Festival Parade in Portland .... maybe ... weather depending.
  10. Heading back from Alaska today. We've been amazed at the number of cruise ships that dump the crowds into each little town. We've been "lucky" in that we've been in a couple towns when the most cruise ships possible can be in the port. It was estimated about 10,000 drop-offs were in Skagway and over 11,000 in Ketchikan ... Of course, that probably brings lots of dollars to the towns but not the Alaska you go to visit. We saw thousands lined up yesterday to board back on the ship. Terry said it's like herding cattle. Weather hasn't been great. We're glad it's been cool but the low lying clouds take away the scenic views. It's all about timing and I'm to blame for the timing. Not sure I'll get Terry back to Alaska unless I can prove to him the cruise crowds won't follow. However, I'd like to plan something down the Aleutian Islands ... we will see. PS ... tried to get on the tour of the ship that was the Deadliest Catch in season 2. Space only available if it doesn't sell out from the cruise ships .... like I said there were five of those in port. There's no doubt it sold out..
  11. I'm so glad to hear that you're improving. That's great news. Hopefully you'll be feeling better and better too. Take it easy like you said and soon you'll be back where you should be.
  12. Maybe some of those folks will give your stuff back. If not, everyone needs new things once in a while. Glad you're surrounded with folks who are helping you. Sorry, you're having so many problems with your hands. Doesn't sound like fun at all. Hope it gets better soon.
  13. Neither is Terry but I'm sure he would agree to bringing a bottle along with a diet Pepsi !
  14. We aren't interested in driving it either and we're really not taking a cruise. At this point I'm think a cruise would have been cheaper but you're dropped off on small ports with a limited time along with a few thousand other people. So, we're going to have a "smodge-podge" adventure on the Alaska Marine Highway. I booked four different ferries along with cabins, hotels and a car rental. We'll see how it works. Anyone interested in the wine-fest? I didn't get any answers.
  15. Join in? We know where we sit in the summer but actually don't sit too long. Heading for Alaska Tuesday. It' amazing how fast the weathermen change the forecast. What about having a winefest this winter? Marsha and Paul do it during the summer so why can't we do it during the winter. There are quite a few of us that will be close to the Phoenix area for a few months. If each person brought a "unique" bottle of wine for an area they visited during the summer, we could have our own wine tasting adventure. Thoughts?
  16. Now the good thing is you won't have to go back for 10 years ! Enjoy yourselves, sightsee and take your time getting back ! Don't you feel free? Happy to hear about Jim too. We all cross our fingers waiting for the good news from everyone.
  17. You have the best job. This trip may be very good for you. Relax and enjoy ....................
  18. IYQ - Linda's right. We all know you know more about more things than all of us put together (well, kinda) ! Relax, enjoy the ride with Barb and just have a good time on the journey.
  19. Ouch! I'm sorry to hear that. Getting upset is no good for you or for anyone else. Hopefully, you'll be able to have peace just being away from them for awhile. Maybe time will heal when you have some space. Anyway you look at it though, they probably did you a favor. Now you can do what you want when you want and put that decision off until you have to make it. Enjoy yourselves on the trip ! Take your time and avoid the stress.
  20. So, I'm guessing you're feeling much better if you're not going to Charleston. I'm glad to hear that. Hopefully, you'll get a lot more use out of the Navion. Sometimes it's nice to be able to re-think our decisions. We do that all the time. Chalk comes in handy. Let us know if you need us for anything and we'll be there to help if we can.
  21. Phoenix was great when we first arrived. Temps in the low 80's but it didn't last. The low hundreds rolled around. Now we're back in the PNW. Friday was in the 80's but now we have a little wet sunshine. I like it to rain on the weekends. It keeps folks away. Sun should return tomorrow .......
