  1. We have discovered if you need a little rest don't visit Pigeon Forge. We've been running ragged ever since we arrived -- up early and to bed late. One more day and we'll sneak into Crossville and disrupt the Hyder's peaceful summer.
  2. Luck to you Lee. I would imagine that your hitch started itching so with those ten days free, you've got to go someplace. We felt the same way Monday and now are in Virginia. Take care and have lots of fun with your new toy.
  3. We were thinking Saturday we'd head to Virginia to pick up our RV and start moving towards Tennessee. However, there seems to be thunderstorms everywhere. We may have to rethink those plans. With all the rain and creeks over flowing their banks, we might be better off to hang around the PNW and continue to complain about the hot, hot, dry, dry weather. Thank goodness plans are made to be broken.
  4. Face it, Lee. You're one hot guy in one hot RV! No doubt about it.
  5. I've discovered it's always good to have the plan. The problem is most of my plans end up being changed.
  6. What, Lee? You weren't planning on spending your first night in your new rig? I bet you didn't sleep at all. You probably had dreams of all the places the new rig would take you. Congrats!
  7. Who knows where we're going to find Lee next? With the smaller rig he may just be running all over the place! Congrats on finding the better rig at the better price. Sue - Glad the building has started. However, too bad it's summer and you have to hang around. We had a house built during the summer in Arizona once too and plan on never doing that again. Winter is coming. You just have to wait a bit for it.
  8. At least Arizona is a dry heat. We spent 3 summers there and many, many more summers in the Dallas area. Dallas was more miserable due to humidity. However, now I'd much rather be where we're at even thought it was hot here at 87 today.
  9. I know if I started to brag about the gorgeous weather we've had, it would start raining. I won't brag but you get the picture. Right now not too much to complain about. Certainly something will happen to spoil that though so we can -- complain, that is. Take care everyone and enjoy the summer. We know it doesn't last forever.
  10. Yep. "Strewn" is a good word. July we're heading back east to pick up the motorhome but then you might have more pictures to envision.
  11. We're going to be in Missouri next week too but on the other side of that state - Hannibal
  12. I guess I could make reservations but keeping them is something else. After all, it's 7 months until January! That's a long time in the future for my calendar to have anything in ink on it! I did check out a couple of the state parks in the Keys a month or so ago. They were pretty full then. Oh well ... It was 88 here yesterday and more of the same for the next 10 days. At least we have air conditioning!
  13. January? Hmm. I don't know much about the Tampa RV show. We really don't have a lot of plans yet. I'm guessing eventually we'll have to get down to that and figuring out where everyone else is going to be. Other than being around the Pensacola area sometime in very late October or November, we may just wing it. However, we are interested in Bonita Springs, Sanibel Island and Key West and the rest of Florida. Where you gonna be?
  14. I'm certain there are folks who have taken their RV around NY but not us. We avoid that area in an RV whenever possible and only via an airplane. I think you can park on the New Jersey side. However, if you've never been, it's one of those must see places. We're still remodeling the cabin. Will work never stop?? That's our plans too -- Florida bound eventually. Love the Gulf Coast when you don't have to run from storms like this year.
  15. Looks like a win-win for both of you! I think a class C might be perfect for you. There are definitely big advantages. No more hooking and unhooking for one. Daughter is on her way here. Finally, someone to talk to. She sold the tent trailer she bought. They didn't use it much. Too bad 'cuz we thought we might borrow it while here. Oh well ............ I guess not now.
  16. We had a feral cat asking for breakfast. I went out to feed it and even it left. However, it's almost 6:30 now so I guess I'm safe to start texting a couple people. Geesh! How long are we going to be here? I tried to stay up late yesterday but that didn't work. I was beat. No mirror by a chair. I'll try that tomorrow I guess.
  17. Well, we finally got tired of all the fun things to do, nice weather and wonderful people to visit on the east coast. We're back in Washington and see nothing but lots of work ahead of us. The biggest problem is that I was up at 2:30 and everyone else is asleep. Getting used to west coast time is going to be difficult. I wish someone would get up so I could talk about all my plans!!
  18. We've been close to tornadoes, huge thunderstorms, water moccasins and gators this trip. I understand the word "chicken" because I've been one many times in the last couple of months. We'll be leaving Virginia soon and all those things won't be in the Pacific NW when we get there next week. Mr. Hyder --- Are there snakes in your lake in Tennessee? Please tell me "NO".
  19. Deming is just around the corner. That was definitely a whirlwind trip! We'll be about 30 miles north of Portland. We'll probably be around for about 6-8 weeks BUT we'll be back after we're gone a couple weeks too. And, so the summer will go -- back and forth and back and forth.
  20. Our plans put us in the Portland area in about ten days but you now how plans go.
  21. Oh no! Tornados aren't fun. We ran from them and thunderstorms when we were in that area too. Be careful and stay away from bad weather!
  22. Roger, you have had way too many problems. You've had enough so that the rest of us shouldn't ever have a problem again. Best of luck!! Lee - You're sure making tracks across Texas. Deming is just around the corner. We spent the day at Yorktown with the Lavins. They looked great and It was sure good to see them again. They're in good spirits and just as sassy as ever! We're looking forward to another outing with them next week.
  23. I'm thinking Murphy really has found you! You seem to be having enough bad luck for all the rest of us. If I said "be careful", would you listen? We're in Virginia Beach so let us know if you travel through this area on your way to the Outer Banks!
  24. Yep, I'm pretty happy right now. We're going golfing on Saturday and kayaking on Sunday with him. I think they call that tickled pink! Another BBQ restaurant is on the schedule for tomorrow.
  25. You're ready to get back on the road? You just got there. We've been in Norfolk for a week and it feels good to know we're off the road for a few weeks. It might have something to do with staying where we're staying -- full hookups, beach, golf, bowling, kayaking -- and even Justin. Of course, feeding the "boy" is costing us a pretty penny but we're not buying fuel now so maybe that'll wipe out the food costs.
