  1. I used to say my point of traveling was not to be in areas where we had to use the heater or the air conditioner. That hasn't worked out real well with us. I think we're doing something wrong.
  2. We are only here for a few days. It's hot and humid. We'll head back to Washington Monday or Tuesday and then to Phoenix before we return in about 3 or 4 weeks. Most of November we'll be visiting Mickey Mouse and then Bonita Springs in December. Early part of January we'll be in Key Largo and after that .... no reservations. Golly, reservations are hard for me to make but we did. Hope to see you this winter!!!
  3. Well, we are camping at a local Wal-mart tonight. No electricity and no AC. I'm already sweating. That Alabama humidity is pretty fierce after a rain storm and we had one big rain storm on our way here. Tomorrow -- Pensacola but we'll have AC. I can hardly wait for that.
  4. But, Lee, we lived in Texas for many years and all their storms that destroyed two vehicles while there. Besides I already put our order in with the weathermen. I ordered great weather and they guaranteed it! You know their forecasts are always correct. Right? Of course, last time we were there we left because we only got to the panhandle, rain hammered us .... that was after we ran from a hurricane. Enjoy yourself on your fun little outings.
  5. We are currently in Chicago but on a plane right now headed to Nashville. Will be in Crossville tomorrow night. It would be nice to get together for a snack out but won't be in the state more than a few days. ??? Hopefully we can.
  6. Five weeks at the repair shop?!!! You should have hopped a plane like I suggested and stayed with us. It would have been cheaper!
  7. Not much going on in my world except we are busy. Terry's back in Phoenix for a few days so I'm playing with the kids and grandkids. Going to Powell bookstore in Portland today. It's floors and floors of books -- amazing place. Then, it's BBQ place in Longview. I thought about Hey Duke though. There is a big Brewfest in Vancouver, WA this weekend and heading there tomorrow with Justin and Tammi. It'll be a fun day. Heading back to Tennessee to pick up RV at the Hyder Resort at the end of the month and moving it to Florida. That's my news for now.
  8. Congratulations, Grandma and Grandpa! Grandkids are just better than kids!
  9. I can get into yours and mine. Keep trying.
  10. Now WHY would you address this to me, Steve? I'm in the market for FLORIDA clothes which means they are so different than ARIZONA clothes. I know that it's not a man thing but it certainly isn't a 3-meal a day thing either. Needless to say, I'm struggling with this! I guess if all else fails, elastic works great! )))
  11. That's one of the main reasons for putting her into an assisted living or you could call it, retirement facility are those meals. When my brother was in the retirement facility he just opted for the one meal a day plan. They had a choice of how many meals. That's not good because that's all he ate. She will definitely be on a 3-meal a day plan.
  12. So, sorry to hear about Heidi. It's hard to lose one you've become so close to. We know exactly what you're going through. Duchess was 13 1/2.
  13. Thanks for keeping us posted, Eric. I had figured you'd be around Fort Meyers so now we know exactly where you're going to be --- not that we know exactly where we will be. Don't be surprised if you have a few folks knocking on your door! I need your schedule! I'm emailing Marsha just as soon as I finish this!
  14. I'm guessing we better keep our plans secret about any future streaking ideas. Lots of places I'd like to streak to right now. Terry will probably be back in the PNW next week. His mother is going into a rehab center to get her strength back. Then, she may go into assisted living. However, no one knows whats wrong. We have a few ideas but that's about it. It's nice being here but kids work during the week and I'm bored spitless. The only thing of interest is all the emails I'm getting about Florida travel ideas!
  15. So sorry to hear about Delcie. Sounds like she's been working with the flowers though. We lost some of our plants around here when we were gone. It was hot and with no water, they didn't make it. Also, sorry to hear about Heidi. It is hard to lose our pets. We get mighty close to them over the years. Keep us posted and take care of yourselves.
  16. Yeah, right. That's not going to happen. Well, we're back and the temperatures have finally cooled down to the middle 70's. They had been running in the mid to upper 90's when we left. However, after all the heat and humidity I was cold all day and had to have a sweatshirt on. We've been so busy running around that it took just one day to get a little bored. No one to talk to 'cuz they all work. If Justin wasn't coming in this weekend, I'd vote for another little trip. Heck, I even broke down and used the work-out room this morning. At least Roger and Jeff are keeping me busy researching Florida RV parks.
  17. Yeah, they made us work for our RV spot! Lots of folks going to Florida this year .. we'll have a good crowd when we figure what we're going to do. Terry's heading to Phoenix tomorrow so he'll be the one streaking through the sky.
  18. Freddy -- We haven't heard from you in a mighty long time. How in the world are you and Delcie doing? Have your ears been burning because we've been talking about you both with the Hyders! However, you know it's all been good stuff because we miss you both!
  19. Oh no! Roger, you just seem to be getting one bad situation after another! It is life on the road for sure but we want it to be a good life! Maybe you need to have someone pass their good luck on to you. You've just had about enough bad luck for all the rest of us!! IYQ - No one is there because they've gone north to get out of the heat! Maybe you need to think about that. ) Sandie ... what in the world! Another surgery? Sounds like you and Roger are both in a spell of bad luck. Sorry to hear about that.
  20. Boy, you are so right. That's exactly what we did. Look at us now. We're going to try it again. Come join us while we make fools of ourselves one more time! This time we're going to venture a little farther south so maybe it'll be different. Maybe
  21. I remember that winter, Linda. When we were there we discovered the panhandle was pretty nice until about mid-December. Then, the rains came in and it rained and rained and rained. This year we hope to spend more time around Fort Myers and south. Perhaps, a couple of weeks around the Keys ... perhaps.

  23. We aren't staying forever. We just plan on imposing on you as long as we can get away with it. When you stop the food from coming or it gets pretty lean, it'll be time to move on. (Or, didn't you plan on feeding us too? ) My dad always said company starts to smell like fish after a couple of days. It's time to hit the road before that happens. Toni - Are you still thinking you'll be around Tennessee in November or did you move that forward? We 'll be long gone by November. Doesn't it get cold here and snow by then? Just checking. We don't do snow or cold but then again, we also said we don't do heat either and we've been in an oven most of the summer.
