Yes I'm well aware of how much HDT cost I've had mine for over 7 years .now I've been very fortunate the only thing I've had to do to it is put a new transmission in it and believe you me they are not cheap.

Good idea .the only reason I am not doing this is because I am not a professional truck driver nor am I a professional diesel technician. Although I can change my own oil and run a grease gun.i figure it doesn't hurt to let the pros. Take a look at it.to make sure I am not missing something. I usually do this every couple of years. And I ruffled a few fathers out there in the hdt world.But like I said before when you live in a world where money doesn't grow on trees this can be nerve racking.

1st of all you don't know me that well to make the judgment call like that. I spent 19 days in a icu with my wife while she recovered from 2 aneurysms and a stroke. I am fully aware of what the difference is. The point I was trying to get at .was when your not made of money and money doesn't grow on trees it can be very stressfull.

OK well thanks for The info. I think I've got My issue with the headlight fixed. Yes it was a bad ground Didn't find any evidence of critter's chewing on wires. So the squirrels and raccoons are safe for now. Thanks again for the help.

What color wires Is typically ground. And how can I test the headlight to find which wire is ground.

Is just put a Test light on everywire coming out of the headlights and for some reason every wireComing out of the headlights Is hot And no lights are on. I am thinking bad head light fixture

So last fall before I shut the truck down for the Winter I installed new headlights .They seemed to work fine So just recently I got in the truck fired it up. Got a message on the dashboard that's stated headlight low beam open circuit left side. And then the marker light quit working also . anybody have a wiring diagram 4 the headlights on A 08 VNL 780? Any ideas why It just quit working? It makes me wonder If it hasn't been attacked by some wire chewing critters . Oh is this going to be fun.I have noticed squirrels milling around the truck. Also seen raccoons out there.If they are found guilty of chewing on my wires oh man it's on . I may have to ask for recipes that involve squirrel and racoon.

And also we are Licensed as motorhomes Which again the law don't Apply. they also stated All non commercial out of state rv are welcome in California. Trailer saver Hitches powder coating peels off. Makes a Mess Other than for that Seems to work OK for me. Although I am not a full timer .I don't think it would last as long as a et hitch. Depends on how you are going to use it .full time .weekend once a month. It comes down to what you can afford.

Well did you know that if you use carb cleaner To clean grease off your 5th wheel It will also take powder Coating off what a mess.

So today I thought it would be a good idea to pull the 5th wheel hitch off Our truck to inspect it service it and check for cracks in the Welds.Every thing looks great .Except the paint.What kind of paint would you use to prevent rust?
