  1. Thanks it is good to know I am not the only one that has done this
  2. Oh no offense taken it's all good. This whole experience has been extremely Humbling definitely took me down a Peg or 2? Well one good thing at least I did this in my own driveway. And not in an RV park somewhere. We get enough attention in an RV park as it is. Definitely don't need This going on. First thing this morning I went down and bought a caribbeaner to put in The hole Where a padlock should go. I don't want to padlock it to the truck in case of fire heaven forbid. This would have been a good what not to do video. Yeah I could have just not said anything about it and just wrote it off and not put it on the forum I but I felt if somebody else out there learn from my mistake it might keep them from getting hurt.
  3. The damage repair to the Trailer is almost completeat waiting on new gearbox for landing gear.
  4. No no no definitely did not Slam into the king Pin. This was a uphill struggle. She had to back truck up a slight grade to connect the trailer. Throttle control and break control had to be met to accomplish this task to much throttle to get up the hill slam. Not enough and the jaws didn't lock . It was a 100% my fault for not checking to see if they were locked they were closed but not locked.
  5. I agree there is no excuse for not doing a tug test. We checked the hitch out and there was nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't hit hard enough to lock it in. From this point on i'm going to put a Safety Pin Where the padlock supposed to go. That should ensure a positive Connection. and then tug test the c*** out of it. Before raising landing gears. That was an expensive lesson. We always did Tug test But failed to do this one and it bit us in the butt. I have had my CDL since 1985. It's the first time I ever dropped a Trailer.

    Tug test.

TUG TEST TUG TEST TUG TEST. If I ever deserve a Is chewing out I deserve one now. We have had this Trailer for about 10 years. And never had issue with What I have now. Went to hook up to move it From in front of the garage. Check to see if jaws were closed on fifth They were and assumed they were locked. Went ahead and raised up landing years. Without doing a tug test you could imagine What happened next This stunt Cost me one blown out landing gear and abought a days worth the welding. Fortunately nobody got hurt. This could have been a whole lot worse. So i'm telling you this hopefully somebody out there will learn from my mistake and never Have this happened to them.
  7. What is the best cat repellent to prevent cats from setting up a litter box in the gravel under our fifth wheel? Other than a semi automatic lead hole punch Trust me that has crossed my Mind.😁 Any non lethal ideas?D w would appreciate it. Thanks.
  8. Tulup festival over by Mount Vernon is running about 2 weeks behind schedule.komo news just Reported it. Guess it was pretty cool over there and they're running behind.
  9. Just checked it's going on right now.
  10. I think they're having a Tulip festival over at Mount Vernon Washington. Check with Mr. Cobb. He might know the schedule.
  11. Heck I make A set of lethers look good on the back of our Harly.😁 If she wants to drive I'll Let her drive. I believe in the work smarter not harder theory. Actually this explains why she wanted her own Harley.👣👣😁
  12. I knew somebody would bring that up sooner or later.
  13. Is there a product on the market makes it easy for cleaning diesel smoke off your RV?
  14. So I took truck back to the company That Serviced it. They drained the Oil off that was overfilling it and repaired the drain plug by putting a new gasket in it. Leak has been stopped no more oil leaks yeah? When I found the loose oil plug I also check the oil level on the Dipstick. was a 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch above the full mark. Not good. Needless to say the technician was Extremely apologetic.
  15. Wife took truck for a drive .I got left home doing The barnyard Shuffle. Moving vehicles around to put the truck back out in front of the Trailer. I don't know if she's coming back. We'll see. Had to take keys from her last night and forced her out of the driver's seat. She just wouldn't get out She has got The camping fever bad.😁 Good thing I didn't have the trailer hooked up to it. I don't think she would have came back. She has a bad case of the wanagocampinganticipation syndrome! I guess there's only one thing to do.
  16. We're back up and running. With a new air compressor. What a project. Going from No air pressure at all to 120 pounds in just shy of 3 minutes. I think it's pretty good anyway looking forward to camping.😁 Let the party begin woohoo.
  17. Today should be the last episode of the air compressor saga. New air compressor is in the truck. All I have to do is reinstall a few Other accessories. Now you may ask yourself why I did this. But I ended up taking the steering colum out the inner Fender out And the tire off. To make it easier to get to the air compressor I'm not as flexible as i used to be. They sure didn't. Make it easy to get to this thing. It Is against the firewall. It's buried under a lot of hoses and electrical Wiring. Should have it up and running today knock on wood .
  18. Went to company that serviced our truck for the Parts for our air compressor. Express my feelings about finding a loose Oil Pan drain plug. manager Seemed to be extremely concearned about it willing to make things right? I told them that I won't hold It against him for now if he could just take care of the technician. I tried tighten it up still it was leaking. They must have lost the gasket or o ring in the Plug. Went back over to pick up ordered parts talk to the manager again. He told me he would order a new plug and give him a couple days bring it over and it cost me nothing to get it fixed . He seems to be a pretty decent guy to get along with so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. It is really nice to know that there are still people out there in the world that stand behind their work.
  19. Picked up parts for my compressor project today should have truck back on the road by tomorrow night.WooHoooo!!!

    ZIP TIES

Is this a normal thing with volvos? Are they all held together with zip ties? Every time I have to remove a part there's a zip tie needing to be cut.
  21. Fortunately we caught this at home.
  22. While switching old fittings Off of the old air compressor to the new compressor. I found that The coolant manifold Which is on top of the air compressor. Was cracked? Oh boy we wait some more. Time To order more parts.
