Sorry to see you lost your wife recently, I loss my wife just after 44 years. We had planned a 40 day driving trip to start a month after her death. I couldn't do that that trip but other 7 - 10 trips. I was on Medicare with a supplement. But I wasn't even concerned about those type things. 6 months later I was getting my act together and got Sky-Med for the big medical events to get you back home. Goods Sam's had a similar plan on a much lower key.
Take care of yourself, eat good meals and you may be cruising the road for many years. My doctor didn't like the fact that I considered a bag of Chocolate covered almonds a meal.

Kirk Thanks for editing my lost title, that is correct. 10 days ago I was in Cold Illinois and from there when to Memphis for Thanksgiving. After visits in east-central Florida, continuing west across uncharted area, for me, on i-10.. I've been in uncharted area before but the rough spots on roads are never charted except by construction signs.

I have heard lots of horror stories over the years but what is the current status. I will be starting that journey in 2 weeks and only traveled I-10 in Florida on this eastern portion. I know Houston on the western side and San Antonio has construction, I'm going Austin area for Christmas then Kerrville. For comparison I-55 in Arkansas MP65 area has construction and ROUGH but finally repair to a rough area. I-65 south bound through Birmingham Al is rough at all the concrete joints.
I'm traveling in a Class A pulling a car. What are some alternate routes. My only interest maybe stopping in Baton Rouge for a day or so.

I wasn't using any social media, years ago. but many neighbors had problems which was directly was related to one Social Media Group. I hate to use Google because track me and show history. It seems everyone want to track users. It is okay the the Credit Card Companies to track my usage because I frequently visit the same area/business's and changes can raise a flag.

I have a cable that is coming off my solar batteries and into a 200 amp fuse that melted. It didn't overload and pop the fuse, the inbound wire and the box around the fuse melted.
Are you saying the Wire melted or only the wire insulation. It looked like maybe you a loose connection. Do you have Alum wire with copper connector?
Enjoy visit in Livingston, a great group of people willing to help RV'ers

My comment may break the ice is; "Some days are rougher then others". Be prepared for a comeback, but say something positive before you finish your task.
Regarding backing, my wife does not help on directions, its a left-right thing, her left or my left and I do don't do well with left or right. But she does watch that I don't hit something and we do good.

Most of us who use the Escapee mail service do not vote in school board elections or others that have no impact on us while living and traveling fulltime.
I agree 100 %. Eric I will add to Kirk's reasoning. As a Legal Resident of Polk county, I don't support the local tax base very much (I spend 1 night in Polk County in 2022 and 2 or 3 night 2021). I feel the local tax payers should know the Candidates who manage the school's direction and finances.
Likewise I responding to a person who don't disclose the area your from like Texas, DC, Canada.

I'm sure I started reading this. I have purchased a 2017 Entegra when a Direct Traveler Antenna. After looking at the converting to dish but converting the 2016-2017 Entegra may not be easy. I thought maybe going DTV could be a easy move. No Way Now. Thanks for your input

I bought a used car a few weeks ago, I didn't know if I could write the large number in the short space, so I asked the young acct to write the check and I would sign it. I was amazed as he did it so I signed. The next day I had to return he made a error. Using the example $12379.84 he left off the Three Hundred. The bank clerk caught the error.

To me, any well-run business should set their retail price at a point that will maximize profits.
Back in my younger days I was enrolled in a management course. We were a given a couple problems and profits and growth were wining goals. It was a little difference than oil companies. What I learned if one gets greedy with profits, the competition gets more inventory sold, the stock holders are happy (a small business may be able to pay down a loan). Business is slow you advertize, spend to much that comes from the profits but you instant results. You will spend money on engineering which will give rewards later if you have a better product or can stream-line a process cutting cost.
BUTTTTT if have a problem selling your product say milk, inventory spoils, and that is lost money and way to bankruptcy. If the liability is low, the management wins when inventory matches sales and true costs are known, The board will be happy. Make to much profit and not return part to the business the share holders and taxes get it.
I don't believe the Profits are exceedly large as some say. but they maybe like the squirrel gather nuts, getting ready for the storm

Where are you located? The fuel at Murphy (Walmart) near us is gasoline $3.04 and diesel $4.69.
I'm in NW IL and the city to the east is Rockford Our cheapest in last couple months regular was below $3.50 and diesel about $4.85. Rockford is normally cheapest fuel and Sam's Club regular was 45 cents cheaper than surrounding area. Illinois prices include 6.25% sales tax.

And on the subject of dumb and dumber. Australia's emergency reserves of fuel are actually stored in the USA. Go figure that one out.
VERY INTERESTING. Are we selling those reserves also. Is anyone Auditing the books.
Yesterday Regular Gas in town $3.79 Diesel $5.15 30 miles east, prices on the upward swing are $4.10 and $5.46.
This difference, Regular vs Diesel, isn't because its harvest season but has been that way since the price of fuels started going up. It is like the Grocery stores have certain price leaders. Just 4 days ago one grocery had lettuce at $5 a head, another was priced $1.78 but no lettuce available. I just hope, we are not headed to price controls. I caught in that 50 Years ago.
This has been a country requiring profits and laws. I don't mind paying the profits or the taxes but lets have some equality.

Does this Truck have Hydraulic or Air brakes? I had problem of excessive air leakage that a service could find. A second shop found one of the two small cab bags was leaking. Get your window cleaner spray bottle and crawl under. I had a seat that leaked air only one was setting on the seat, a length of seat air hose was to short stressing the connector connection
Yes you have an excessive air leak(s). The rear air bags could be one of several problems and the rear air bags could a check valve.

Yes register it within 30 days. The expensive part could be a sales tax issue. Was sales tax paymant required in NV? TX can give a credit for all or a portion ( it has been a couple weeks since I read that and didn't apply for me). But you have a sales tax payment due in 30 or 31 days if not paid , a 5% penalty and that goes up if paid later.
You buy out of state, it is easy to register in your home county. Purchase in TX, the selling dealer is responsible for all collections and paper work per TX law.
Clay Been there and done that buying a car out of TX and RV in TX.
Side note I discovered of interest. If you sell a vehicle to a relative in TN there is no sales tax as I signed a form stating I was the father. I don't if TX has such a waiver.

Kirk had the correct location to start looking but then you have to find the correct Folder. There is many places that Domicile is found but I didn't find anything that applied until I opened Education and read articles there. I found what the Tax Assessor referred to as Becoming a new resident. If I saw that earlier, my years as an Escapee meant I didn't need to read it. Thanks Kirk, we got it
For the future reference https://escapees.com/education/domicile/texas/ This is part of that section.
- Vehicle owners that are still making payments on their vehicle will need to complete Texas Certificate of Title (Form 130-U), the Application for Registration Purposes Only (Form VTR-272), and provide current proof of registration.
- Vehicle owners that are no longer making payments on their vehicle will need to produce the current title and current registration

This morning I called the Texas Tax Assessor's office looking how to register my recently purchased car. I told the lady, I was an Escapee looking what forms I needed to correct. The lady told me, the Escapee web site has a place where all the info is provided but I can't find it. Where do I go after I log in?
I know I need to provide, the Bill of sale, Form 130-U, Copy of Drivers License, Insurance and payment.
Clay In Illinois and I'm not sure when I will the beautiful sun sets in Texas

Is the hole in the Blue OX Hitch also enlarged? If so I would drill both holes out and use a Grade 8 bolt.

We received flu shots this week, I hope getting the fifth Covid shot goes better. First our Walgreens will give a shot with appointments only. That is by phone or On-line but the catch is the appointment can be made, when the Pharmacy may not of even opened that day. Third try was a success. Our Doctor recommends at least 10-14 days between just in case there a reaction.

Good advice.
Years ago, I had a neighbor that mechanic'ed for rental Car company, he always complained that non-standard parts were often found that wasn't available in the parts store. U-Haul trucks had different Internal engine parts. Of course another side of the rental business goes back about 40 years ago I rented a car in St.Louis and was up graded to a full size car, on the key ring was a special key used lock the wheel and wheel covers on the car. I was told people had rented cars just to have the tires stole.

Recently, I asked about towing using a Dolly and your suggestions has me looking at difference vehicles for 4-down. Shopping on-line has it limits. Then looking at the rental companies more choices of color seems to exist. I have rented cars and know that the cars get run hard but have lots of long trips. One big question is these vehicles build to difference specs than the common off the lot car.
