  1. Especially important as spares are TWO sets of fuel filters. Because if you ever get bad fuel you will need them. Ask me how I know.... I went 13 years hauling with an HDT (as a fulltimer) without getting bad fuel. But when you get it....you get it....
  2. That is certainly one theory. But no one knows for sure. But the better question is "where do I put (lets say) 500K if not in the stock market? Assuming one wants reasonable growth. Mostly this is rhetorical..... I also argue a bear market...but no real negative effect until next year, and probably after the election. Unless outside forces "force the issue". Just my opinion....and not worth much at all....
  3. I'd probably have one of the custom frame makers build the trailer underpinnings and then do the rest myself If I was going the "build from ground up" route. You can specify the suspension, etc. Then let them do the heavy work of the frame. Spacecraft and Forks will build you a semi-design on their custom frame. Spacecraft would probably build out the shell for you and let you do the interior and infrastructure. That way you would have a weather tight box to start with.
  4. L-Track or E-Track solves the tie-down issue and looks pretty good too.....assuming you can meet the weight limits. Which for cars you should be able to.
  5. Looking good. The solar panel will help a lot if you are running off your starting batteries for your hotel loads.
  6. Welcome back to North America, George...... I'll email you....
  7. JC, make sure you get that park to Trey for the campground guide.....
  8. I've had a number of LEOs do that over the years. Almost always locals. Rarely State. I did have a State guy follow me in my smart on my quarter on I 70 for almost 5 miles. He was likely running my plate for some reason. He never pulled me over, thought. I figured he was just waiting for me to "drift" a little where he could stop me for "wandering" in my lane. But it never happened.
  9. We are in Woodland Park, CO at Diamond Campground for the summer. We leave here in the fall for th HDT Rally in Hutch. If you are in this area stop by....
  10. We are in Hutchinson, KS for a few days. Playing tourist and waiting for the snow to melt and ground to dry up a little in Woodland Park, CO before heading there for the summer.
  11. If the check valve is bad in the pump it can do what you are indicating. In fact, that is the classic sign of a bad check valve in the pump.
  12. How is the access in and out of there? We are looking for a better overnight location in that area.
  13. As Trey said - YES. I'll have an updated version of what Howard and Linda have. I talked to Howard prior to bringing Truma and New Horizons "together". I have high hopes for this system. We will see......
  14. No experience "yet" I will be the tester, and based on my experience they will decide to use them or not. They currently do not "offer" a continuous hot water system because of issues with them. They would put one in on a custom build but it is not on the option sheet. For the same reasons I don't currently have one. However, I expect that the Truma system will resolve my issues. I'm looking forward to it. It goes in Tuesday. I will not have the "loop" system that keeps hot water circulating for truly instant availability at the tap. That has to integrated during the build of the rig. Mine will be the retrofit system. The best forced air system out there at the moment is the Aqua hot. I really like it - however it is hard for me to justify the cost. Especially when I have alternative heat sources that perform extraordinarily well. The fireplace and the in-floor heat are superb. We rarely use our conventional 2-stage furnaces, but they are super quiet on stage one. And with two of them we have lots of heat, and backup systems. Our primary heating source is our electric fireplace. It does a great job down into the 20's as long as the unit is already at temp. We supplement with the in-floor heat, and ceramic heaters. Our last resort is the propane heaters, but they do work well and are quiet. You are welcome in CO any time. However, if coming with a "big rig" you need to plan, since we have limited big rig sites, and run very close to 100% occupancy from July 1 to the third week in August. But for shorter stays we always can slip people in....just ask Rick
  15. Chad, we will likely be out of here next Thursday. The rig work is done except for a board replacement for the automation system. Now we are waiting to put in a Truma continuous hot water system to test it for Truma. The (Truma) factory guys will be here Monday for the install. So soon as we are done that we are gone. Probably going down to Hutch for a few days to play "tourist". We are usually too busy during the Rally to see much.
  16. Arrived Junction City, KS at the New Horizons factory for the month of April.....
  17. Geeze, you guys are killing me with your weather. We pulled into Elkhart campground a half hour ago and the temperature is 36*. And sleeting. We will move over to Mor/Ryde tomorrow and our service there is Tuesday. It is supposed to get nice. We will see......
  18. Still at MATS. We will stay here Saturday and leave Sunday. We are headed to Elkhart and it is even colder there. The "feels like" temp this morning is 18*. High to be 45*. But we have good 50 amp power in the parking lot, and our electric heaters and in-floor heat is keeping things nice and toasty.
  19. You can renew an A or B exempt license by MAIL - NOT online - every other time. The other times have to be in person so they can get a new picture. I've done the mail renewal for years, but only every other time. You cannot renew online for an A or B Exempt. At least not that I have seen.
  20. We are at MATS in Louisville. Arrives Wed. to great weather. Of course, now it is raining and cool. Will leave Saturday, probably. We are in the campground towards the back.
  21. Stuck in my brother-in-laws driveway turn around area until the "mush" evaporates and we can get turned around. We are south of Lynchburg, VA. Next stop....MATS in a couple of weeks.
  22. If you do the online registration it is part of the registration process....it will give you a chance to self certify.
  23. Peety welcome to the forum. You will find it a pretty friendly place and you should learn enough to stay in "trouble", so to speak. A comment on your dream truck.....in RV or non-commercial heavy haul use the 18 speed is not necessary. Stick to the lower geared trucks and you will be far happier. The 600 hp is very cool, but again not necessary. Of course, I'm running a turned down D16 so I'm with you on the "more is better". Mine is down to 515hp. That is WAY, WAY more than enough. And my trailer is 28K lbs.
