  1. With the speed limit of 55mph for trucks here in Calif. I have gotten used to running 60mph.  When I run other states with higher limits, I only run at 65. Much more than that and I feel myself tensing up, so I set the cruise and set back and enjoy the scenery.

Another delay kept me off the internet for a day and a half.  We had a wonderful PSPS event here.  That is a Public Safety Power Shutoff where the power company de-energizes the power lines due to a high wind event to prevent fires.  I love living in California.

Retirement has been nice.  It finally set in a week or so ago when I was finally retired longer than the longest vacation of my career.  It didn’t hurt that my first retirement check also finally showed up.

With my router, I have to connect to the router wirelessly via WiFi.  I then go to a specified IP address that points to the router’s set up page.  The router does not have to be connected to the internet for this to work.  On the set up page, I can point the router to my hotspot and enter the hotspot login information.  I can also set up the local wireless network the router creates to rebroadcast the hotspot network.  It is all fairly straight forward once on the router’s set up page.  The set up page IP address was in the instructions that came with the router.  I now have that address saved as a favorite in my browser so I can get to it easily.

Thanks for the response.   I've been up in the high Sierra's (Eagle Meadows) for  the last 3 days so no internet.  I think this is all over me head.  I picked up my router and pointed it at my hotspot, but nothing happened  LOL.
My nephew spent 20 yrs in the Military playing with computers so I'm going to take it over and let him play with it.  Wish me luck...........
Again thanks for the info and enjoy the retirement.

Sorry I didn’t reply sooner.  We were at an RV park with no cell signal and less than reliable WiFi for the last two weeks so I wasn’t on the forum during that time.  Did you get your stuff hooked up?

When I connected my mobley to my linksys router, I used my iPad to connect to the routers start page.  I then pointed the router to the mobley for Internet access and set up the WiFi network for my other devices to connect to.

Thanks Chad for the reply.  After I sent the post and didnt get a reply I looked at your profile and noticed your retirement clicker showed you had retired.  So I thought you were out enjoying retirement.  Retirement is great, just got back from 5 wks in Utah myself.
I have not gotten the router hooked up yet.  Problem I have is it says to link up to my router thru the wireless internet connection and then go to my browser to continue, but when I link to the router I lose internet connection and cant  continue.  Its got to be something simple I'm missing, but with my lack of computer knowledge its not easy for me.
Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks again

I carry a 120 gallon well pressure tank. The rubber bladder in the tank makes it pressurized so it is like being hooked to a hydrant. It will pressurize to whatever static pressure you fill it with. That is about 100 psi at my house. There is a hose bib on the outlet and I just put my regulator and hose on it and then hook the other end to the rv.

This has me thinking.  I've got an area under my truck that I could hang a 150 gal tank .  Then install a 12v air pump to keep to pressurized to 40 to 60 psi and run hose to 5th wheel.

bad shake between 50 and 60 then stops by 65.

Every time I've encountered this, it was wheels out of balance.  Have them balanced and it should go away.  I dont know what brand of the 10 yr old tires that were on 2001 Volvo 660 when I got it, I put a set of used Michelins on and dont remember any wandering with them.  I put a set of Sailums on it and played with the pressures from 80 to 110 psi and it still wanders all over the road.

The Mobley has a USB port on one edge near the ODB2 connector that can be used for tethering. There may be a label covering the port, and it cannot be used to power the Mobley.

Thanks for the reply Dutch.  I do see a small plug on the side under a cover on the Mobley, I assume its a mini USB port.  I see a reg sized USB port on the front of the router, I wonder if I connect the two it would work?  Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but my computer skills are limited...

Don’t you have to have hard wired to the router? Then your router broadcasts the signal. If it is like my wifi Ranger GO AC, go to the routers control panel and select your Mobley.

I was under the impression that it did it wireless, because I don't think you can hardwire anything to the Mobley.  Does anyone know if that is true?  I would sure like to get this working because I've maxed out the 5 devices and would like to add more.
So if there is anyone out there that could instruct be on how to use this "Linksys EA6350 wifi router" with the Mobley I would sure appreciate it.  Thanks

I just connect my router to the Mobley WiFi signal and then connect all my other devices to the router.  My devices connect to the router through either Ethernet cables or through the WiFi network the router rebroadcasts.  With this method, there is one device connected to the Mobley (the router) and then everything else is connected to the router either wirelessly or wired.

Chad, I picked up a Linksys EA6350 wifi router and was wondering if you could guide me on how to connect it to the Mobley wifi.  "my computer skills are very limited".  Thanks

  9. The only manual I have now days is my dune buggy.  I do like to take it to town once in awhile.  As for the HDT I have the 3 peddle autoshift and like it.  Done enough shifting of trucks thru my career to last me awhile.  I have caught myself  manually shifting up and down the hills, it just doesn't shift to my liking going up and I will put in HOLD and shift it manually going down hill.

Those fat tires are thorn magnets. It's ironic that fat tires bikes are best ridden on pavement to avoid thorns and goat-heads and thistles and stickers and burrs. But that is reality, at least where I am.

Be sure to slime the tires, keep a couple of spare tubes, and watch videos on the process of removing the rear wheel and tube repair or replacement and then re-installing the wheel.

I think if you around goat heads you will get a flat with any tire, but yes with the wider tires you have twice the contact on the ground.  That's good advice on knowing how to remove the tires on the trail.  I have saddle bags on my Rad Rover and carry tools and spare tubes.

A guy rides by regularly in my neighborhood I've seen him about five times, but too fast uphill to run outside and flag him down to talk to him. It looks good and he is riding up a steep hill pretty fast. But I've never ridden one yet. I will be looking at other brands folks here are buying and still liking after a year. We have an ebike shop here that sells very expensive eBikes and I am hoping we get some incentives like tax credits. I've seen other brands for sale with bad batteries/tires. I missed one for $200 that when I looked it up was a $3k bike and all it needed was tires and a battery, perhaps a charger. But it got snapped up immediately.

I am liking the Lectric from what I have seen now too.

Be cautious of cheap Ebikes for sale with no battery.  Most likely they are stolen, because if it had a bad battery they would usually still have it.
I've had my Rad Rover for a yr now and really like it.

We have ordered two EBikes that will weigh approximately 65# each when the battery is removed. They will be the Fat Tire style. We used to carry two regular bikes on a rack behind our TT with no problems. Obviously, those bikes were much lighter. We not longer full time but still take occasional trips so I would like to find a bike rack that is rated to be used behind a TT that can handle the extra load.

I would appreciate recommendations from anyone who has a similar situation. Thanks

Hollywood makes racks for Ebikes.  Not cheap, and I've heard they take a while to get them.

I use Waze when I'm in motion, but CoPilot as a planner. This app has an RV mode that avoids low clearance areas. You can choose between 12'6" or 13' tall in the appThe one feature I really want and don't have is lane notifications. Waze recently added something, but it pops up too late.

CoPilot used to have lane notification, but now I it doesn't.  I wonder why they stopped it.

Either choice you make, enjoy the lake.  We took our Smart to the Forest Service Campground and decided we liked our spot much better.  FS campground is much closer to a boat launch but others on Jug Hollow just back the boats in off the beach.  If you get the chance to hike down to the Green River, below the dam, there is some beautiful hiking trails along the river!

Thanks again for the info.  I was thinking the same, unload the Smart and drive over to Jug Hollow to see if we should go there.  I would rather boondock then be in any campground.   Should get there today, we are in Wendover Nv now.

Dennis in a situation you can deflate truck tires to 30-35 psi maybe less on the drives, and 15 to 18 on the trailer to floatation out.

    See TireBoss website www.tireboss.com

Don't exceed about 20 mph depending on air temp and blow em back up when you reach hard ground again  yada yada

    Thanks for the info.

We've been to Flaming Gorge for 2 weeks in the spring the last two years.  We camp on the Jug Hollow (Antelope Flats) road.  It's been no problem for our HDT and it's dual rear wheel.  Never used our lockers or had any problem with the sand.  Some of the curves and downslopes look intimidating but again, it's been no problem.  I cruise the washboard road about 20-25 and it's not bad at all.  Trout bite is AWESOME in Mid April to Mid May.  See our blog (link is below) for the last two years for pics of the lake, trout, road and campsite we landed in...noone for 100yds either year.  About 1.5 miles on the dirt road, the road splits 3 ways.  We always take the left hand one and take the 4th-6th campsite down that road.  You could fit 3-5 big rigs in the clearing.  Go for it and ENJOY the antelope and Bald eagles that have a nest on the island in the cove in front of our campsite!!ibyxEGDl.jpg

Thanks Brad for all the info.  After checking out the Jug Hollow Rd camping area on google earth I seen there was a campground across the lake ran by the Forest Service.  Part is reservations and part first come first serve.  I'm thinking about checking that out.  I'm coming from the west and looks like I can go in thru Manila Ut.

  17. When a driver would call me with a flat tire, I would ask him how much of a load he had in the trailer.  Any time he had a half a load or less I would have a road service single it out and replace it when he got back to the shop.
I always thought if I ever get a tandem to pull my 5th wheel I would single all the tires and have a way to shut off the air to each air bag.  So that way if I got a flat I could shut of the air to the bag and remove the tire and chain up the axle on that side and drive it to a shop to replace the tire.
