docj, the Know Your Customer rule is not part of the Patriot Act which is no longer in force because it expired and was not renewed. The KYC act leaves it to each institution to decide what information they require. It is the institions attorneys who decide what is required and institutes internal policy to enforce those requirements. Each institution has different policies. There is no law requiring anyone to have a physical address.
-
Quote: The law allows financial institutions to ask for a physical address, in lieu of a mail forwarding service, but that address doesn't have to used on your account other than to meet Patriot Act requirements.
The Patriot Act expired several years ago but many financial institutions still think they need a physical address. It is their internal policy not the law.

I have a 2015 Class A with an Aqua Hot 450D. I have filled the resovior twice now in a week and again it is empty. I do not see any fluid leaking or on the ground. Don’t see any smoke comming out of the exhaust. Where is the fluid going?

This goes back to the Patriot Act which required every financial institution to have a physical address on record for every account. The Act expired many years ago and was not renewed, however many financial institutions have not changed their rules. I would think that your VA and Medicare info should satisfy Schwabs requirement but if it does not then I agree with the others that you should move your accounts.

I have the Weber Q 2000. My son talked me into buying a GreenMountain pellet grill simullar to the Treager. I did not like it and have gone back to the Weber. They have a smaller model but I like the larger one.

I got a bogus bill from MD once. I have never been to MD. I called them and the picture was a white Honda. I have a Class A pulling a black Jeep Wrangler. They dismissed the ticket for non payment of the toll.

Not true. I have SD plates and did receive a bill in the mail.

Lived in San Diego CA many years. Lots of campgrounds between $75 to $100 near the beach. If you go inland into the mountains they are still in the $50 to $60 range. Even the Indian Casino RV parks are $50 a night.

I’m not sure if this is the correct sub forum but I did not see one for this subject. I am currently looking at the purchase of a GPS. I travel solo so it is difficult to use a smart phone or tablet so Co Pilot is not a good option. I am looking at both Garmin and Rand McNally The Garmin RV 770 LMT and the Rand McNally OverDryve 7 are very similar in features and price. Please help me choose.

Never got an answer. Hello Escapees. If you are going to market a member benefit then give us the details of the coverage.

Well first you have to figure what it is costing you now to live in a house. Things like food and personal supplies will be the same. You have to pay a mortgage or rent and you will most likely have to make a RV payment so that balances out. Your homeowners or renters insurance will be a LOT cheaper than expensive motorhome insurance. You need to add in the cost of fuel for the motorhome. Now add in the fees to park your motorhome in a RV Park for a day, week or month, and most monthly park fees do not include electric so you may still have some utilities. Repair expenses are usually more for a motorhome over several years of ownership compared to a home. Then add in tire and battery replacement. I think you are catching on. Depending on your situation you can get buy on $2,000 but what are you spending now in you home and what is and will be your quality of life in a motorhome with the same outlay of money?

When any employer provides housing it is for the convince of the employer not the employee. The employer want its employee to be close by. When you volunteer it is not about how much the hours are worth. The free RV site is given as a convince to the employer so that you will remain close ro the volunteer site and show up, and show up on time. It is an additional benefit to the employee who is not getting paid to have a camp site at no cost. The value of the camp site or hours worked is irrelevant.
-
I only take volunteer jobs. I do not want to be paid. If I accept a paying job then I will have to file a tax return in multiple states and get modest refunds. The cost of the CPA to prepare the returns will be more than the refunds. I value the free site and free electric more than the pay.

I did not read all the posts so I may be repeating something already mentioned. When I had a toy hauler I found it was no problem just riding the bike in to load it. It was backing out that was the problem. I learned to leave the motor off, keep the bike in gear and just use the clutch as a break and I would not skid like I did when I used the front break with the motor running. I finally tired of the unloading and moved up to a Class A Diesel with a Hydralift on the rear.

Wish they would cover the cost of my fuel to get there.

I have DirecTv and am currently in AZ. Heading up to ID in May. I usually stay in one place for 3-5 months. I don’t change my locales while traveling from place to place. I only change my locals when I get to where I will be staying for several months. I hope that when I get up to ID in May DirecTv and AT&T will have it all worked out.

I had Dish for 5 years and never had a problem changing locals. Last year I purchased a used Class A in Phoenix. and it had a Travler sat dish on the roof but it was for DirecTv and would not work with Dish unless I purchased a $300 conversion kit and paid another $200 for the install. I switched to DirecTv. After a few months I went to the east coast (NC) for the summer and had no problem changing my locals. When I got back to AZ for the winter I again had no problem. I am anxious to see what is in store for me this summer when I go north to Idaho. I would love to change back to Dish but my Dish is only set up for DirecTv.

I remember when my grandmother had a party line for a telephone and if you picked up the phone someone else may have been talking and you had to wait for them to hang up so you could make a call.

What will you do with th RV at the end of the year. Have you considered renting one. If you rent you can buy insurance thru the rental company.

I use the Escapees mail forwarding address in TX for all my mail except my drivers liscense, registration and insurance which have the Escapees SD address for my SD domicile. I have had no problems using the TX address for my financial institutions. As far as taxes. You will only pay income tax on the amount of income earned in that particular state no matter what state you domicile in. If you domicile in SD and earn income in another state you will own tax in that other state. If you earn income in WI then WI will tax you no matter what your address is.

I have roadside assistance with my vehicle insurance and with my extended warranty. I just joined FMCA while at Quartzsite last weekend. I believe that their roadside assistance is with the same company Escapees is now offering. Haven’t compared them since I am already covered but I did notice that the Escapees coverage costs $99 and FMCA is only $69. It may be good to review each to see if the Escapees plan covers more than the FMCA plan. Glad to see that Escapees is giving us more benefits for our membership.

Guess he won't be at Quartzsite this year. Sorry to hear that he is six.

Best Cell Booster
in Internet Access on the Road
Posted
I am disabled and can not get on the roof of my RV. Called WeBoost today and was told that the outside antenna goes on the roof and should be extended after parking and retracted before driving off. It can only be extended and retracted by hand. It would be nice if it could be done with a remote. Are there any cell phone boosters that are remote or do not need the exterior antenna mounted on the roof?
