I just put a dual throw breaker in box. When I put inverters in they will be 240v also. I don't intend to use onboard generator. Most I know of use an autotransformer between generator and transfer box.

For generator, I'm mostly thinking of use when traveling and we parkinglot camp for the night, need to be able to run the AC. I also turn the ACs on about an hour or two before arriving to have it cool when we get there. No inverters now, so the genset keeps the fridge on and ACs occasionally.

Good Teton group here. We saw a beautiful Teton/HDT rig in Montana last week that were boondocking on the Madison River. I have a pic somewhere I'll dig up. didn't get to speak with them.

Thank you. Your post is way different from theirs.

Glenn, been following your posts on the facebook forums too. I think it is simply a communication thing. You have a monitor with apps and web interface. Saying "don't want to mess with a monitor" I think came across as not having any monitor in place, which is not true. There always needs to be a monitor and you would have a monitor. Just my two cents.

    Hello Tony,

I too have a code 38 and I think I may have the same problem you had, ground wire problem.  You reference "main access panel". Can you tell me exactly where to look for this?  I'm not sure where you are referring. I'm looking all over for a ground wire problem and not seeing anything.  I thought you may be able to point me to where you problem was so I can look on mine.

    Thanks!!!!

It wasn't actually a ground wire problem at all. It was the controller board failure, which is soldered to the inverter head.

Call Bob at Parkers Crossroads RV Repair in Parkers Crossroads, TN. He is an Onan whisperer. I found him way after, but he said he fixes them all the time without replacing the entire head. 731.968.9939

I find this all this very interesting, as an observer.  I am using a TrailerSaver, clearly not in the same league as the ET, but it's working for our little 21k# trailer.

What intrigues me, is why nobody's gone the route of modifying a commercial hitch to float, or, making a "real" floating pin box to work with a commercial hitch>  Clearly, the single jaw used for the commercials is strong enough, likely far superior to the twin opposing jaw design, plus it allows for articulation without adding more wear (failure) points.

my binkley head failed and I replaced with ET head. beef with the ET head is evident. I happened to be about three hours from Youngs and had them do it.

Repeat after me; "No, but my shopping for a replacement has been delayed due to the current Covid-19 restrictions at the dealerships"".

    ^^^^This.

  6. on the stock Teton hydraulic jacks, you can lift up the front, drop out the drop leg or torch it off; Unbolt the top part and there is plenty of room to take it out in the bay. To replace, put the drop leg up in the hole, then the cylinder/top piece in through the bay, lower through hole lining up the drop leg.

For the bigfoots, installed from the top and just attached the foot on the outside.

  7. I don't think it is the satellite, it's every-time you get an oil change or service, they use your VIN/license plate to record everything, mileage, what was done, etc., goes into the master record that is shared with all dealers and svc centers (if they participate in that service). Can't remember the name of the network. Same way carfax gets all the info when you run a report: when it was registered by whom, who inspected it, where it was serviced and when.
