Mainers on the move
Hi everyone. My wife Patricia and I just joined full time Rving on Aug. 29th. we left Maine and have traveled across the upper U.S. mostly staying at state parks and Walmart's. We are currently at Buffalo Gap Grasslands in SD. and love it. My question is, When we leave here we are heading to Gig Harbor WA. and would like to find BLM land to spend the night on in Montana off from I 90 if possible. Do any of you know if there is any? Thank you, Kelly & Pat Mainers on the move

missourijan
There are also many fishing access sites that are not too far off I 90 in Montana. You can look them up on their website (Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks), most you can camp in for a small fee. They have vault toilets but not much else. 2gypsies
Montana's fishing access sites are awesome! A booklet is published for you to carry with you. Stop at a fish & wildlife office if you come across one. trailertraveler
Many of the Montana Fishing Access sites that allow camping are shown on the maps on these websites: Free Campsites, Ultimate Public Campground Project. They also show many Fishing Access Sites, Fishing Lakes, Wildlife Management Areas, Water Management Districts, County Parks, City Parks and fairgrounds that allow camping in every state. Here is a link to Montana Fishing Access sites with camping. With the sites shown on a map, it is relatively easy to find ones near your proposed route of travel or destination.
