Velos
Just arrived in the RV park this afternoon and went to walk the dog. When we came back to our site we found someone one had run into the passenger side mirror. No note and no witness, did report it to the office but there is nothing they can do so just looking for a place to have a new mirror installed. Any recommendations for the Boulder City, Henderson or Las Vegas NV area appreciated.
pugsly
ahh that sucks, sorry about that. Is it just the mirror glass or the frame as well? Can't tell from the photo. Hopefully not that expensive - maybe something you can just buy and bolt on yourself.
Velos
The frame appears to be OK the mirror was pierced so don't know if the heating element is still viable?
Bobi and Dick McKee
We lived in Vegas for 35 years, and unfortunately you will probably need to go to Vegas or North Las Vegas for parts. There are several Dealers and Service centers close to I-15. I suggest you Google and make some phone calls.
bobsallyh
JM, looks like a Freightshaker to me. There is a dealer and shop here https://www.freightlinertrucks.com/Dealers/Detail/VCFD/?dealerName=LAS+VEGAS+FREIGHTLINER-STERLIN Probably doesn't necessarly need a dealer as mirror replacements are fairly common. We are in the Elks Lodge RV park in Boulder City. Off Nevada St. at Juniper and Jack in the Box. If I can be of help stop by, white Dodge dually and Alfa fiver. Thank you for the offer and your suggestion. Several years ago we had a bird fly into our grill on the interstate in Montana. When we went to Freightliner and got an estimate we were surprised how much plastic costs LOL. They suggested we try the local junk yard as there were a lot of totaled big rigs there and we found a grill in perfect condition. May give it a try for the mirror as so far I have just found complete assemblies on the internet.
gjhunter01
Autozone or similar store sells replacements for $20 or less. Easy bolt on to replace. Greg
Velos
I think we need the motorized/heated version? I found this one that didn't require the whole assembly be purchased: http://www.raneystruckparts.com/7-x-16-west-coast-mirror-motorized-heated-stainless-steel/ A non motorized but heated was much less: http://www.raneystruckparts.com/mirror-7-x-16-stainless-steel-west-coast-heated/
Velos
Follow-Up: Googled truck repair and saw that there was a CAT dealer in Henderson gave them a call. http://www.cashmanequipment.com/index.htm They are the same company that replaced our A/C and adjusted the valves in Sparks, NV last summer. Just picked up the truck and mirror is good as new. Thanks again for all your suggestions.
