  1. Yes. Hire a SEO specialist and see that the forum / website conforms to their advice.
  2. If you click on the link in the previous post, in the upper left, next to "Southbound 395" are three dots. Click the three (menu) dots. Select "Export to KML/KMZ" - - - don't worry about the options - just down load the file. If you use BaseCamp - you can import the downloaded KML/KMZ file into BaseCamp And from BaseCamp - you can export it into your Garmin - and perhaps other GPS devices Unknown to me, is if you can import a KML/KMZ file into other mapping programs. . . Best of luck to those who try, and if you can, describe it to the rest of us. (please)
  3. Failure to keep up with technology may be part of the problem. I see two retarded areas: 1) Can't load photos larger 2.83 kB 2) Forum isn't cell phone friendly Digital storage is very, very cheap. Failure to be cell phone friendly will choke a website As the older tech users age out, potential new users will find their way on handheld devices. Facts of life. . .
  4. I use a feature of Google called "My Maps" and I don't know how to explain how you can get, or even how I got it. However, it is very, very good for planning a route. For example, this link should allow you to see one route that I planned - and it's in segments. Try: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1eD6PeOopXgmcxK2oHP-y2GrPC--GOHe4&usp=sharing
  5. Last month while in Gig Harbor, WA I saw the new Costco cell phone kiosk was open. They were selling AT&T service plans. They're best plan for me with 50 GB hotspot data was $56. per month - with a veterans discount. I wasn't carrying my DD214 (a military service discharge form) or I probably would have signed up. This month, in Cave Creek, AZ I visited the new Costco cell phone kiosk which is selling Verizon service plans! "Okay, so what's the deal?" I asked the Verizon service rep manning the kiosk. According to him, Costco is no longer using a "middle-man" service and the kiosk people are employees of the cell carrier, not independent contractors. Apparently, different area Costco's are using whichever service provider that Costco deems appropriate to that area. I explained my contact with the Costco AT&T people in Washington and my T-Mobile and Visible plans, etc. Verizon has a competitive plan for nearly the same price as AT&T (also with a DD214 veterans discount) for me. At the moment I am undecided. The Verizon guy said that Visible doesn't have the same priority as Verizon when it comes to service speed. And that Verizon regulates bandwidth priority to government, commercial and retail users. I don't know what or how that affects me but I will be revisiting the Costco Verizon booth again soon. I need more information.
  6. While this is not meant to be scientific in nature it is/was my particular finding using two different cell phones services and phones by two different phone manufacturers. Your milage may vary. I have hotspot data service on both phones, both services. Of course, cost and data usage make a difference, but In my opinion I think that I would stick with T-mobile if I had only one phone, one service. If no hotspot data was needed, I'd go with Visible because of it's much better cost and basically equal service. T-Mobile VS Visible - a service comparison; over 3,000 travel miles in the Western US Summary: T-Mobile wins by a hair Both services were either present and functional or not present at all for most of the travel. There were seven locations where either service was minimal. Four of the seven trouble spots revealed which service was successful. T-Mobile: 4 Visible: 3 Usually, my measure was if I was able to complete secure banking data or not. In sketchy service areas the measure was "is there any communication available or not". On one occasion, Visible was (at times) able to send and receive text messages while T-Mobile was completely dead. Note: On one occasion I found that restarting the phone helped find a cell service signal. Routes Northbound: Phoenix area north to the Tacoma, Washington area (Gig Harbor, WA) Northbound out of Arizona on Hwy 191 north to Utah - Capitol Reef Westward to Wells, Nevada and north to Jackpot, NV Northwest to Farewell Bend State Park - Idaho/Oregon border Southbound: Gig Harbor, WA to Eastern Oregon (Pelton Park, OR) South on Hwy 139 to Collier Memorial State Park, OR Hwy 139 to North Eagle Lake Campground, CA (near Susanville) Hwy 139 to Hwy 395 to June Lake, CA (Oh Ridge Campground) Hwy 395 to Lone Pine, CA (Alabama Hills; Tuttle Creek Campground) Hwy 395 to Red Rock Canyon State Park, CA then hwy split to Hwy 14 to Santa Clarita, CA Southern California to Arizona has cell coverage most everywhere.
  7. My truck had a rodent chew through a wire - it caused a "check engine" light. Truck ran okay. Got it to a dealership - they replaced the glow plug control module - it didn't fix the problem. $800 dollars later, they repaired the broken wire. Comprehensive insurance paid for it (minus the deductible).
  8. I'm sorry to hear of your terrible loss. Extreme stress and emotional hemorrhaging are difficult enough without this additional disaster. The only thing I can add that may be helpful is that you might want is an Ozone Generator to eliminate the odor problem. I had a mouse infestation where mice peed everywhere in a shop building - including inside wall insulation. I purchase an ozone generator on Amazon for about eighty bucks. (I think it was Amazon's recommended choice machine.) It took a few days of use and moving the machine from spot to spot in the building (about 1200 square feet). The odor was eliminated after a while - I asked visitors if they noticed any odor - no one did. The bigger issue is the insurance not covering the loss of the motorhome. My feeling is that you will need an attorney to review the insurance policy exclusions in an effort to find how the total loss of the insured vehicle isn't somehow covered. Perhaps others may help?
  9. Self Awareness in a machine has no motivation. Chemical based life which can perish is a different matter. Why should a machine care if it lives or dies? How does it enjoy emotion? If we create gods in our image do we now create machines the same way?
  10. Our nations adversaries might not be so restrictive. For that reason the military will command full exploration of this technology. (IMO)
  11. I used the "Back to Black" by Mothers purchased at an O'Reilly's auto parts store for my 10 year old jeep fenders. The fenders are not the painted type, they're some kind of plastic, maybe polyethylene? The fenders were noticeably gray, not white as in your description. The product works and takes some elbow grease. The application rag turns grayish - indicating that something is coming off the fender. I suspect that the product might actually be dissolving a bit of the surface material in order to restore the black. Maguire's also offers a similar product (but on sale and out of stock when I purchased). Mother's also offers a stronger Back to Black version according to the product literature.
  12. Fear of the unknown. Pretty common and to be expected. Weaponizing Ai will be governments first priority. (same as always) Second priority will be to limit or curtail it's use. Science fiction often becomes science fact. We live in interesting times.
  13. It's no joke. I used it yesterday with this question: What are the campsites that are over 6,000 feet near Redding California? This was using "Bard" by Google. It makes todays search engines look like stone age tools.
  14. Yes and I wondered why the truck driver didn't help out. Isn't the video from the truck? Personally, when a trucker in the left lane is trying to overtake me, I'll tap the brakes (to off cruise control) and let him pass me much faster. Works eveytime.
  15. Actually, there were two but one left. This one is still here and has been for about a week - but I've not seen anyone in or around it. https://photos.app.goo.gl/dhbz1geM9TLnQsKa6 https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ruz7FXppU53AvnkZ8 https://photos.app.goo.gl/qJN7aVSbxu7iTLKk9
  16. It depends. Will you tow the Jeep all the time, or just occasionally? If occasionally, I would probably opt for the magnetic style turns (thou I have no experience with them). Are you doing the installation yourself? I did the installation myself. The advantage of DYI is that one knows how everything works and can troubleshoot if necessary (leave yourself good notes if you do it). My current installation is the Invisibrake system - which is an auxiliary braking system for the toad - plug & play. I saved some work by bench testing it and learned that I could avoid installing diodes into the Jeep brake system by getting the braking signal from the tow RV off of the High Center Brake Light (I tow with a pickup truck camper). If you tow with a motor home that might not be an option for you. Some folks tow without a break away braking system - your choice.
  17. The old PC probably had an ad blocker extension on the browser or some such thing. If you find the ads offensive then you'll need to install a blocker. Personally, I support this website by not blocking the ads, so I can't help you there.
  18. Just click on "Unread Content" above the ads and they disappear.
  19. If that is the case then perhaps lappir should first request a replacement phone to see if it gets any better.
  20. lappir: It's the phone, not the service as I experienced yesterday. Three of us were in the car on the outskirts of town. . .me and two cousins. Both cousins (mom and her son) shared the same Verizon plan. Mom had a "cheepie" phone model as she described it and it had no service. Her son had a more respectable phone and did have service. So she used his phone. I checked for service on my T-mobile and had LTE signal - my phone is a now older Motorola phone and it's certainly not a top "of the line" model. So, in that instance, the phone quality made the difference. And having witnessed that, if I were you I would ditch the new 5G T-mobile phone and keep the old unlimited Verizon plan until I could find a phone with better reception.
  21. The answer to the jury duty summons has been well answered. Simply let them know the facts. Additionally, if I were you, I would visit a "Authorized Third Party Drivers License" location and tell them what you need. Here: https://azdot.gov/node/4881 These "satellite" offices of the DMV have been very helpful and the wait time relatively short compared to the zoo at the main DMV facility. Lastly and less relevant, I read the Arizona drivers license manual years ago and it stated that if you live in Arizona more than six months you are considered a resident. That's debatable in my opinion because how would the state know? I've done it a few times without problem.
  22. Great. Painters plastic stretched over the hood might help. Last year, there was a rig in the park that had plastic stretched over the truck. Now I know why.
  23. Just a follow up. None of the solvents that I tried worked. Even the promised pitch and tar remover - which I tried on the cab roof where it would not show - failed - but leaving it on a bit too long did soften the paint. The Arizona sun has now hardened the pitch and seems to have crystalized it - I can chip it off with a fingernail. I've chipped off enough of the now brittle pitch to a point that a good rubbing compound should remove remnants. Alas, I have reservations at the same park with the "pitch" trees. This time my stay will be early in the year (not late summer like last year) and hopefully the pitch is not flowing yet.
  24. Wife and I both had Verizon unlimited personal cellphones during our travels. The phones were different year models and slightly different Android versions. One phone would get good signal while the other would not in certain areas. It varied which phone got better signal depending on where we were located. I hypothesize that signal reception may vary between phone models and operating systems. Last month, in a remote area of Anza Borrego, my Motorola phone on T-mobile had no signal, while the lady next to me was chatting on her Verizon phone. This month, while in Tortilla Flats (campground area) my T-mobile phone had poor signal strength and my new Visible (Verizon) phone had no signal at all. Less than a hundred yards above was a cell phone tower. (I have two cell phones on two different carriers - wife has since passed.) My cheapie trade-in phone from Visible service has a 5GB hotspot feature. At "home" Visible can stream movies without any interruption or quality loss - as does the T-mobile Motorola phone. Curiously, I have exceeded the 5GB hotspot limit on Visible (currently at 12.8 GB of usage) with no slow-down. I will begin my northward migration from Arizona to Washington State in a couple of weeks. The travel route, at times, will be remote and I will see how the two phones and services compare during that trip.
