Personally I would do it anyway but it probably would be working harder. The fact that the mini dumps its air directly into the conditioned space helps. Dale....just saw your post. Yes I have installed many of these mini splits. That was when I owned an HVAC business. Jack Mayer Posted January 30, 2017 Report Share Posted January 30, 2017 Glenn, if you are installing the minisplit in the rear of the trailer in the upper cabinets facing forward, as you have previously described it is MY opinion you will get far better cooling. I cool an area about the same as you have with a minisplit, and it has no trouble at all doing it. It is also whisper quiet. And the heat pump in it works better than the rooftop units do.
