What’s a fair price for my Volvo 610?

Looking for a little advice from the HDT group. I full-timed for ten years with my Volvo 610, but parked it a few years ago and now it’s time to sell.  Looks like all the old content has been removed from the ‘For Sale’ section , so there is only one old Volvo listed, a 2001 project truck for $20,000.

My truck is a 2001 Volvo 610, with 716,000 miles.  I bought it in 2004, and it had 615,000 miles on it.  It has a 12.7 L Detroit 60-series engine, rated at 430/470 HP, and an Eaton auto-shift ten-speed. It’s an early auto shift, with the clutch. It has a 3:58 rear axle.

It was a basic truck, tandem-bunks, when I bought it and it still has the original seats.

I flipped back through the receipts and realized that I replaced a lot of parts over the years:

- Front drums replaced when I had it singled at purchase, so they have right at 100,000 miles.

- Replaced the clutch and Jake brake at 622,000 miles. The Jake brake was used; new clutch.

- Replaced the AC fan motor at 641,000 miles

- Had it shortened at 643,000 miles, with drive-line modifications

- New muffler and exhaust pipe at 665,000 miles.

- Clutch adjustment at 669,000 miles

- New turbo and air charger at 701,000 miles.

- New water pump at 703,000 miles.

- New tie rods and alternator at 711,000 miles.

- New radiator at 713,000 miles.

- New air bags, tires and batteries this summer.

I’m pretty sure that Kenny Doonan redid the entire front end in ’07, when I bought the Teton, but I don’t find the receipt so can’t really be sure exactly what was done.

Downsides?

- As to be expected, it has blow-by.  My Teton was 24,000 pounds and it handled it well.

- Body is in fair condition.

- Interior is also in fair condition.

- My Teton had air over hydraulic brakes, so it doesn’t have a brake controller.

 - Needs a new mattress.

- The hitch is a Reese 30-K model, which tilts, and has 100,000 miles on it.  I never got an air hitch; ran with an air pin-box instead.

Any ideas on a fair price? Links to a few pictures below.

Good luck with the sale, keep us posted.

I have had little interest in my "Project" truck. It will sell some day, but who knows when that day will come.

I'm at the National HDT Rally so I hope to get some ideas on what's keeping people from looking, other than it's 22 years old.
