(that's just over 100mi west of Winston Salem or 37mi SE of Johnson City, TN). Possibly looking to purchase a used class A DP rig there. Any leads appreciated since we're in Maine. Thanks! Kirk W Posted June 12, 2015 Report Share Posted June 12, 2015 You may try a few different internet search engines if you have not done so, but there are not yet a readily available supply of RV inspection professionals in all locations but you can usually get a pretty good one done by a local, mobile RV service. It the RV you are looking at happens to be a motorized one, I would then also have it checked out by a local mechanic or truck shop. I hope that this is helpful. I've tried several search engines Kirk, thanks. It's a Tiffin bus and it's getting new Michelin sneakers put on at a nearby tire shop soon. THey have agreed to look over brakes, suspension and general undercarriage while they have it up on the lift, but no RV shop. The folks selling at at their "summer location" and it's just not near anything! So was hoping someone would know of an inspector. Someone on another forum suggested calling Essex credit as they require inspections for all their loans, but not sure they'd give me their contact names. We decided after weighing all the facts, it was going to cost us way too much to pick it up this year when we don't plan to FT until next year. We'd have to pay close to $1000 for winter storage here in Maine and would only get a few weekends out of it this year by the time we picked it up in July. of course we'd still consider it for the right (steal) deal, but the one near Boone was already higher than we wanted to pay. Adding $10K in sales/excise/registration taxes and $7K in 4 year ext warranty (which would be doing nothing for us in storage for 6 months), as well as insurance costs of $150/month, we just decided to bag it until next Feb-March 2016. So anyone thinking of selling your Tiffin Bus or Dutchstar around then... let's talk! :-) Thanks for the info... it'll be here as a reference when we are ready as I will want to hire an inspection when we're ready to pull the trigger and we'll give you a call !
