JC and Angie Posted March 1, 2015 Report Share Posted March 1, 2015 My refrigerator quit cooling on the way to key west. We do use it for longer travels. Waters, lunch, snacks Ect go in there. The dealer wants 1000 bucks for a new one. Well I was at the marina the other day and it oocurded to me that boats use 12 volt frigs and they have a very small work force to repair all aspects of a boat. And sure enough the mechanics knew exactly what to do and for as little as 200 bucks and as much as 500, if we have to replace the dryer the refig will be back to normal. Yes, I know that I could put in a dorm room frig, but the wife thinks it won't look right. So check your local boat mechanics!!! Just a little FYI JC 2009 Volvo 780.
