  1. I just typed in "JOE" as you suggest and bingo ... it pulled two JOEs up. One was an all-inclusive place that provided free parking (FHU) with all meals and drink provided. The other one was a bring-your-own type of sc$m place. Which one was yours?
  2. There wasn't much rain here today either. I think the rain is gone. It's just the showers we need to hide from. We will be there when you least expect it. Well, we might be there if you ever send us directions. Right now we've got a bit going on and Terry has to head back to Phoenix next week. It'll be after that.
  3. Quarter-sized hail is nothing!! It's the hail that looks like the ice cubes in your freezer that are scary! Joe -- It was nice on Saturday. It's been dripping stuff from the sky ever since but at least it's not too cold.
  4. Well, we made it another 475 miles north today. I'm not sure I'd take the same route again. Terry seems to think it was all uphill but we did end up at an elevation under 500' tonight and earlier today we were 5000 feet higher so I guess it couldn't all be uphill. It is cooler. I think we'll shut that air conditioner down now and use the furnace instead. We've certainly had to use the air conditioner way too much for this early in the year. Today was a beautiful day for a drive though. Sunshine was out and very little wind.
  5. So good to hear from you folks again and glad all your surgeries are finally history!! We'd love to see you again and certainly missed you the last couple of years. Hopefully we can reconnect in 2011!! Keep us posted and your map peg current. If you head south, we can always meet at the same place we did on your way north!
  6. We won't go there since we know better parks with better locations anyway!! Are you going to be heading to coast anytime soon?
  7. I read the RV Park Reviews and the last one indicated the price was $27. However, (there's always However), the price went up the first of April. We planned on stopping in Hawthorne at the Elks. That's as far as I checked. I know I've said I'd pay that if we ever found the perfect spot. Believe me ... this isn't a perfect spot. Sailbad - Actually it is $45 a night but I guessed that the tax would be $5 making it $50. Ugh!
  8. I received a voicemail from IYQ today evidently when we were out of cell range. That's exactly where he is now too. He has no cell or no internet and wanted me to let you all know so that no one would worry about him. He's going to be putting that vanishing cream on for about two weeks while he's someplace in New Mexico. I guess that means he probably won't appear again until about the 3rd of May or so. He said everything is good and he'll be back on line in a couple weeks. We had a great dinner last night with the Dixons and the Hyders. I think that's what we do best .... eat and socialize. Then, this morning we turned our Jeep into a limo and took the Hyders to the airport in Las Vegas AT 6:00 AM!! They were heading to Texas for a week. Next, we hit the road and 450 (or was it 500) miles later we arrived at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno. It used to be the Reno Hilton with a KOA park on property. Oh my lands .... we didn't know how much it was a night just that it was here and available. We were too tired to look for anything else so in the morning when the little collector of funds is back on duty, we'll dig out $50 for the night. Ugh! What a day! It certainly has different terrain around here than what we've been used to over the last many months. Heck ... there's even mountains all around with snow on them!! Steve -- my fingers and toes are crossed for April 25th and that everything goes as planned without anymore surprises!!
  9. Wondered about you folks with all the storms in your area. We also were hoping your house had closed and you were off to the next adventure. Be careful around those tornados!
  10. It's about time the wind went away and the sunshine came through for you. Come on now ... it's not too rough because you certainly sound like you're enjoying it.
  11. Sandie -- thought I would let you know there is snow on the Superstition Mountains all around your place.
  12. Did the wind surprise them or did they just not put it away? There certainly has been a lot of wind just about everywhere. I guess that means spring is here. We've had temperatures at 100 degrees and now tomorrow the high is only supposed to be 54 degrees! We got our car back but but are still waiting for the new tire rim they ordered. Also, the muffler sure is making noise now so will probably take it back this afternoon. Windshield is scheduled to be replaced this morning. We're finally getting that replaced after the rock we picked up in Yuma. We have another appointment for a baseplate on Monday. Hopefully, that's it and we can get on the road Wednesday. At least that's what we're shooting for. Steve---- let us know when your house closes. We all want a loan! Oh .. P.S. -- Terry now wants to sell his new little electric bike. It's too heavy and he doesn't use it. Should I say, I knew it?
  13. We have a wake up "bark" every morning here. Our neighbors little dog is put in his outside pen every morning before 6:30. He barks constantly as people walk by .. constantly. Of course, the barking isn't just limited to the morning. It's an all day event. Even Terry gets up early here. Have fun at Death Valley!
  14. I'm thinking it was a tad windy. With fire and smoke in one direction and wind in the other, I guess this heat wave over here isn't so bad. We still don't like it though and get to complain too.
  15. Well, no liquid stuff here but lots of sunshine. Temperature climbing into the low 100's, perhaps. Obviously, that's not my cup of tea. I wish they would hurry up and get the Jeep fixed so we could flee.
  16. .............. and, it's gonna get hotter tomorrow!!!
  17. Isn't Deception Pass GORGEOUS????!! I love the sounds of planes and the smell of jet fuel so sounds like the place for me!! Our son and his wife asked me to block a week for them. They mentioned going to Crater Lake. La Conner and the San Juans was what I suggested and I think that's what we're going to do. However, they'll probably be there a week and we may hang around for three weeks .... maybe. We'll probably pull into their driveway for a few weeks too. Maybe we'll do that in May. Then, when the food stops coming and they are tired of us, we'll head a little farther north.
  18. Joe - We plan on spending a little time this summer around La Conner TTN. Perhaps, you can be our supply wagon while we're there and bring us in supplies as we need them. Matter of fact, I should go book it now since I know it's pretty popular when we want to be there. You said there was a marina there. Is it right at the park? We may bring our boat.
  19. Well, then, they better get ready because it sounds like party time to me. However, we are unavailable July 16th through the 22nd ---
  20. That is so funny and I bet you sure enjoyed yourself watching the chaos!! I would have too. We took a drive to Sedona today. Now we're zonked. No noise around here ... just beautiful scenery.
  21. Ed and Linda -- Noticed you are in Avondale. Are you hurrying through Phoenix tomorrow or going to hang around a couple days? Let us know. Jim and Sandie are around and so are Erica and Karla. We can practice getting together for another meal!
  22. HAHA. Linda, Linda - of course, I'm not staying home! They provided me with a loaner. The problem is it doesn't have a hitch so the blueboy will stay where it's at. The park has electric and water but only a dump. However, temperature is supposed to get into the 90's later next week. We probably will opt not to hang around but who knows. We certainly don't. We could always drive back and pick it up. It was sure nice sitting outside and listening to all the birds.
  23. We had a tough move yesterday. We moved a total of 21 miles. Actually, it wasn't the move that was so dificult, it was finding a place to fill the propane tank. That might have taken an extra mile or two. Weather is beautiful. RV site is gorgeous. Flowers are starting to bloom in the desert. We met with Jim and Sandie for dinner and then dropped by the Tiki Bar to see Eric and Karla. Things are good. Jeep won't be ready until April 5th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
