but some money-hungry counties will keep the emissions testing.
The counties have no say in it. It's a federal mandate for certain areas depending on air quality.

If anyone is serious about trying to do YouTube, you should watch this short video. This guy is really good and makes a good living doing it. He pretty much spells it out what it takes to make it big time. I read somewhere that he makes $1.86 for every 1,000 views of one of his videos. Marques Brownlee
Here's all his videos, in case you're interested. https://www.youtube.com/@mkbhd/videos

There is nothing like a total solar eclipse.
To each his own. I get a total solar eclipse every day at my house when the earth comes between the sun and me. It gets dark for a while, then it gets light again. Been doing it for almost 75 years now, sure as clockwork. 😎

Ray,
According to my computer, that's where this thread is located. Not sure what you're seeing.

Sedona to Arches to Mesa Verde to Albuquerque? That covers a lot of roads. I used to tow a 34' fifth wheel with a Geo Tracker behind it through all that country you're talking about with no problems. I towed with Chevy Duramax.
While you're in the area, might as well go to Silverton, Durango, Wolf Creek Pass, etc. Your rig will breeze through those places.

When I had a generator installed for my house, they offered to install a certain type of breaker which would automatically kill that circuit if power went out and I went to generator. I could have put one on the water heater or a/c, but did not because my whole house generator could handle everything.
I don't remember what they called it, but I don't see why it would not work in your situation also. Maybe someone else knows what they are called.

I've done the Natchez Trace many times, on motorcycle and towing a travel trailer. It is 50 mph maximum the entire length, with only one stop sign that I can remember, no red lights. It takes about the same amount of time as driving from Natchez to Nashville on Interstates, but is much more peaceful and relaxing. However, don't do the Trace if you like to drive like a bat out of Hell, it won't turn out well. Lot's of interesting things to see and experience, if you like such kinds of history.

OK, I understand how hybrids and EV's work. I have moderated hybrid and EV sites and driven both types since 2007. If you are not accelerating in a postive number or maintaining just enough throttle to coast or on a slight downhill, you are braking. Most hybrids and EV's use regenerative braking only unless you are moving at 10mph or less or under emergency (hard) braking in which case the hydraulic brakes are engaged.
That is why I stated before that you have to keep some of the electronics active on the car in tow mode and use a system similar to DirecLink that will vary the regenerative braking force depending on the rate of deceleration which is calculated using the ABS system.
So, you're saying to modify the EV's natural driving dynamics and disable regeneration unless the tow vehicle (motorhome) is braking. Well, in that case, on a 3 hour drive down the interstate the EV would be charging for about one minute. I don't see how that would be worth the effort.
I don't know about hybrids, but Teslas are the most popular EV's in the country, by far. You can easily drive a Tesla and come to a complete stop without the hydraulic brakes being applied. That's how I drive mine. I do apply the brakes occasionally just so the rotors don't rust over, but they are certainly not applied automatically under 10 mph.

It only generates power and charges the battery when braking.
I drive an EV. When you quit accelerating, the motor turns into a generator using the momentum of the car and produces electricity which is used to charge the battery. The resistance of the generator in turn slows down the vehicle (as in braking). Towing an EV would have exactly the same effect.
The brakes are not involved. In fact, I rarely apply the brakes on my car.

I think this would be the most expensive way to charge an EV battery, using regen to charge while towing it. It would probably cut your motorhome mpg's in half.

6:30 am Lumberton TX
Temperature 68F
Power's out from Norther which passed through here a couple of hours ago. No problem, generator kicked in as designed.
Stay cool, if you can.

But, you did include the sales price in your pitch.

How do you own a RV without a driver's license?
OP stated that they don't own a vehicle. However, where do you live that vehicle ownership requires a driver's license?

On the other hand, millions of tests were given away. The gov't has no way of knowing how many of those tests are being used nor the results. RV's post is simply one piece of a large puzzle. I don't think he intended it to be the end-all data on the subject.

NFPA Fire Extinguisher Placement Guide
Placement
Extinguishers need to be located along normal paths of travel. This is because extinguishers should be available to occupants when evacuating. You do not want occupants to move away from an exit and risk being trapped by the fire when trying to retrieve an extinguisher.

Ok, I was just on the Amazon website reading about the EternaBond Tape and Primer and it said that installation must happen in temperatures under 40 deg. F I live in the Arizona desert. I would have only a few days in January when it would even be possible. What am I to do??? Is this not going to work in my situation?
I think you misread. It says that if you use Eternabond when it is below 40F, you must use Eternaprime and keep tape warm. I've installed the tape at much higher temps with no problem and no primer. Just clean the surface well with alcohol or some other approved cleaner.
Here are the instructions. https://protechonline.net/media/contentmanager/content/Eternabond-Installation-Instructions.pdf

I'll handle them like I do ground wasps, after dark pour a cup of gasoline on the nest. No need to light the vapor, it kills them anyway.
I strongly suggest that you don't use that method with crazy ants. One of their favorite nesting places is in electrical equipment. Another is in the walls of your home.

At least you have fire ants, here we have crazy ants (yes, that is a real thing) and they have driven out all fire ants.
I stayed in an RV Park in Texas which was infested with crazy ants. Anything you put on the ground they would collect under. They were terrible. The park spent thousands of dollars getting rid of them, and they were back a year later.

Semantics. The Federal government EPA sets the air quality standards and then delegates the responsibility of enforcement to the States. Texas, for example, was threatened with fines and loss of fed money if they didn't comply. Before they could build out all the emissions testing stations, some counties were removed from the mandate because of new pollution data.
