  1. The darn things seem to shatter & break frequently. After seeing $100 plus for new ones, I made my own out of aluminum sheet. More than a few years now, and looking good. PM me if you want a pic. Any sheet metal shop can bend you up something for probably less than 2 new ones (if you could get them).

  2. Look at the wheelbase as a lever. At one end, the driver goes up same as the front wheel. In the middle (conventional) driver goes up half the distance on a bump.

  3. My truck has a factory weedburner that I exited out thru the fairing. Fuel tanks aren't close. One caution- I had to narrow it 10" to fit between the fairings up close to the cab. Mail me at canvasgeezer@yahoo.com  for other details & pics.

  4. That bed is interesting except for the rust between the box/bed. I too wanted storage for bikes/tools/toys, but I singled short. Absolute max was 52" behind cab for clearance. Went & got a 48" Pete sleeper box, & turned it around so big opening is facing back, & fab'ed a door for it.

  5. VERY surprised they didn't TL.  You might tell them that every time a bulb burns out you're going to call them as part of the claim.  You might drop the bomb "Bad Faith" in the conversation. Doesn't really apply here, but that's an attention getter.

  6. Tks for the explanation. Yeah, the 15GB is the problem. We are not fulltimers, and if I can get a tailgater cheap enough we could use it at home as well, carry it when we go. We don't have & don't want to spend for Inet for just the weekends. Inet at home is paid for by my wife's employer & we can't piggyback ANYTHING else on it like streaming, HGTV, etc.

  7. Be sure you have what you think you have. Go to section D in the policy and READ it,  "what we pay in the event of a loss" .  Many plans say "$XXXXX  **OR** ACV, whichever is LESS".

Whatever you do, document your rig's extra features on a CD or something. In the event of a theft or complete fire, you need to prove all the stuff you're claiming did exist. Or better yet, get a professional appraiser to value your rig, note all the extras and arrive at a value. Now THAT will get you your value in court. (Yes, I did that on my rig 2 yrs ago & have it  documented)
