  1. Use Google or some other search engine to find comparable RVs.  That will be a better indicator than anything anyone here can offer.  Keep in mind a dealer WILL drop the price to sell an RV.  A private individual may not, especially if they still owe money for it.

While you think you have found a cream puff, DO NOT get caught in the trap that you MUST HAVE THAT RV!!!  If you do, the seller has already won and you have already lost.

I think common sense dictates that a "Pets welcome" store policy extends only to domestic pets. But then we know how uncommon "common sense" can be sometimes. I'm reminded of a humorous sign posted by a motel: "Pets Welcome!" "Except bears... We won't make that mistake again."

At a big box hardware store in Durango, CO a few years ago, I saw a guy with a monkey on his shoulder.  I queried an employee about it.  He said the person would likely just claim it is a service animal and that would end the conversation.

  3. Today, for the 4th time in 6 months, I have a new phone number for my Jetpack.  I found out I have a new number when I received the email receipt for my $70 prepaid payment.

Today, for the 4th time in 4 months I have signed up for auto pay.  On June 19th, I'll find out if auto pay was successfully applied or not.  The Verizon CSR I spoke to this morning when signing up for auto pay (again!!) said the system accepted the auto pay.  She must have given me a new number since my service expired last night at midnight.  The Verizon CSR I spoke with this afternoon when I called about the new number also told me it appears the auto pay is now active.  But, I'll believe it on June 19th if my service is still active.

    Unbelievable.

  4. The way I read his initial and follow-up posts, Lance does not appear to be looking for a workamping job.  Seems more like he wants a security-related job and his wife is looking for a teaching position.

The vast majority of workamping jobs are (state) minimum wage or less.  Yes, some pay more.

  5. We use the basic plan with My RV Mail in Crestview Fla.  Been using it only a few months.  No issues.  The premium plan allows you to see who sent you mail.  They might scan your mail to see it online with the premium plan, too, I don't remember.

We have ordered our mail once in 6 weeks.  I may request it once every 3 weeks or so.  I have yet to receive any piece of mail that is so important it can't wait several weeks to be delivered to me.

  6. If you're happy with the performance of your 6620, you should look for a cheap replacement battery.  You said you replaced the battery once, but you didn't say how long ago.

I get 1 day battery life out of a charge on my 8800.  I don't know if that is good or not.  The literature says not to keep it plugged in all the time.

Since I got a new account created (one of the 8800 troubleshooting options per the technomadia article), my service has been fine.  But getting that far was a REAL PITA.

  7. If the ram was built by Lippert (likely) you might want to call their tech support next week.  And, it MIGHT be something as simple as a nut that needs tightened to seal a washer, unless you've been under there and have seen where the leak is coming from.

If you only broke the main leaf just put in the new leaf  using the rest of the stack.

Should be fine. At least to get you going.

Had ordered a pair of OEM replacements from CARiD that were supposed to be overnighted.  After a goat rope with CARiD, I found out they do NOT ship overnight.  Today I ordered a pair from Lippert and paid $369 to overnight.  This afternoon I still had not received a shipping notice so I called Lippert to check on the status.  Despite everything being done right, the CSR had no idea why they didn't ship out.  KRAZY!!

So I am back to where I was 2 days ago.  But, tomorrow I'll head to the repair shop and  have one of the original leafs put into the stack to get the capacity up to where it needs to be.  Lippert is sending the 2 new sets to the park we'll be at for the summer.  Hopefully over the next 3 weeks I can get both sets replaced.

Should be on the road by noon and arrive at the park by 2.  Will go thru an RV wash and the Cat scales on the way out of Missoula.

  9. Broke the rear curb-side leaf spring yesterday.  Luckily able to get 2 ratchet straps onto the axle and limped into Missoula.  Currently sitting in a truck repair garage waiting on parts to be overnighted.

Lippert leaf springs are a non-standard 7-leaf, 25" eye-to-eye.  Spring suppliers in town have 25" sets but they are only 6-leaf.  Repair guy said he "could" add a leaf and it should work.  He said if it were his coach, he'd wait on the right parts, so...  Having 2 sets sent to replace both rears and will have an original spring for a spare.

Coach is 4 yrs old.  I am close to max weight, but not over.  Maybe it was just the culmination of bumpy roads, IDK.  Hope to get back on the road and to our destination tomorrow afternoon.

  10. I have been using a Dish 1000.2 dish and both EA and WA LNBs for about 3 years.  I also have a Super Buddy to aid in pointing.  I do not always get good signal, but it is good enough.  I do not bother setting up if only stopping for an overnight.  More hassle than it is worth.  And, sometimes chatting with a Dish CSR to change the service address for locals is a pain.

If I had the funds, a Trav'ler would have been GREAT!!  So wicked easy to use!!  But, if you're in the trees, you're screwed.

Hypocritical, what I think is hypocritical is Al Gore who started this tale and made his fortune on selling Global Warming. Why is he  flying around in his private jet if he believed in it?  Well there is to much more.

Al uses his vast wealth and buys "carbon offsets".  The other 99% of us don't have the funds to do that.

It is proven fact that the climate is growing very warm, very fast. It is proven that human actions are causing most of this. But don't confuse weather with climate.

The graph above does not confuse climate with weather.  As has been stated previously, the climate has been changing ever since there has been a climate.

When the term "global warming" failed to raise an alarm, the term was altered to "climate change".  Now humans think they can reverse the current trend of climate change, but only some countries need participate.

It is unfortunate floods happen, but they have happened before.  This time an AFB was impacted.  I remember several years of flooding, decades ago, when the cities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks were flooded.  Similar story to AFBs near Tampa and the Fla panhandle being hit by hurricanes.  Its not a national security threat just because a military base is in the direct path of nature.  What about earthquakes in CA or tornadoes in KS and OK.  A mile-wide twister could easily wipe out the flightline and hangars at McConnell or Tinker.

The "new" forwarding system was implemented nationwide.  When a customer moved and put in a Change of Address, whether electronically, or on the USPS form, which was then entered electronically, that customers mail no longer went to that address, but to the new address. Before the customer fills out a Change of Address form, they need to contact the post office where they will live to tell them they want mail service and get their new mailing address.  Then they should fill out the Change of Address form.  If online, there is no need to go to the post office that you are moving from, and if on the USPS form, that needs to be taken to the post office you are leaving, or mailed to them.  Then there should be no issue with getting your mail at the new office.

Also, there is the issue that not all mail is forwardable.

Yeah, you made my point for me.  After 13 years of this new process you have thoroughly described, the main post office in my town STILL screwed the pooch.

A hard copy change of address was hand delivered to them.  They updated it in the computer system.  After the effective date, none of my mail to the old address should have landed in the carrier's bin, but it did.  The carrier delivered my mail to my neighbor, because he can't leave mail at a vacant house.  When I called the post office, the unhelpful lady confirmed the address change was, indeed, entered into the computer with the correct effective date.  The unhelpful lady also said she would notify the carrier.  According to you, the latter is not required, but the former did not put the new address on my in-transit mail.  So, the 13 yr old process failed.

Sunrise isn't the only place with USPS problems.  Not by a LONG shot.

Also, about 13 years ago the USPS changed how it did mail forwarding. Before the change, all mail that was to be forwarded was sent to the post office and route it was originally to be delivered, and the carrier was responsible for holding out the mail that was to be forwarded, give it to a clerk where the clerk added the new address, and he mailpiece was put back into the mail stream, however, since the change and automation, a piece of mail that is to be forwarded is caught when it is first scanned into the USPS system, the new address placed on it, and then goes directly to the new address which saves quite a bit of time, and makes forwarding more efficient.

I wonder if some zip codes were never notified of this change from 13 years ago.  When I FINALLY got the number for my town's main post office, the unhelpful person on the other end of the phone told me she would be sure to notify the carrier, even though the forwarding instructions were in the computer.  So if the carrier is not supposed to even see the mail, that process failed.
