Don't assume the extreme examples of some governors apply to the whole country. Do some checking.

    ^^ This right here!

Currently workamping in western Colorado.  Left Louisiana 3 weeks ago.  Had zero issues finding commercial or city RV parks open for business during the drive.

I have suspended all my work until there is universal testing.

Tests have been the biggest limiting factor, IMO.

If by "universal testing", you mean tests available for everyone in the country, that could be a long wait.  If 1 million tests are being produced per week, it would be 330 weeks for the 330 million people in the US.

It has been a while since I heard how many people have been tested.  I doubt even 20 million in the US have been tested yet. And I doubt there will be an even roll out of tests.  Likely mass testing will start in population centers and then spread to the rural areas.

  3. I have an enmity to all things Chrysler, so Ram is out.  Every Chrysler product my father owned when I was growing up was a POS.  I won't even give one a test drive.

I'm a Ford guy.  In 2011 when I was shopping, I loved the F350 King Ranch, but did not like the metal pan bolted to the rear seat floor for the lockable storage.  There was no option to get rid of that metal pan.

Bought a GMC 3500HD Denali.  Top of the line trim is nowhere close to the King Ranch,  but the tried and true Duramax and Allison have been flawless except for glow plugs failing.  Pulling a heavy 5er thru the mountain west has never been a problem.

The next time I go shopping I will relook the King Ranch.  IMO, nothing else comes close to that gorgeous interior.

The new Duramax and 10-speed Allison look really sweet.  Not sure I'd spend the money on the Denali trim again.

I seriously considered a retired semi.  But, based on the limitations of a daily driver as well as insurance coverage issues (not covered as a grocery getter, etc., depending on your state and insurance company), the semi just would not work for me.

I’m getting more and more concerned about where to go when the weather here gets too hot.  There’s the question about where to find a place to stay and are there services nearby.  Now it’s a question of whether I can actually get there at all.

I'm pretty sure you would have little to no trouble finding a commercial park to stay in most areas of the country.  Many are still open and have plenty of space.  Moab, UT and Montrose, CO are 2 such places.

You need to be self-contained as the "public" facilities are closed.

Stayed at 4 RV parks in Texas over the past 4 nights.  Each had the showers and restrooms open for business.  Got my temp taken at a park in Clovis, NM.  All normal so I was allowed to stay.  Facilities open there, too.

....their tech.. thought grand design and Montana brakes won’t really work until about 30 mph... anyone hear this..?

I hope that is not true.  Even at 25 mph, a pickup will need help stopping an extra 15,000 lbs of force.

  7. Replaced the squirrel cage this morning.  Took under an hour, including the time to get my tools.  4 phillips head screws holding the exterior A/C shroud, 4 10mm nuts holding the metal cover under the shroud (protects the cooling fins, squirrel cage, and cage motor, etc), and 1 star head screw holding the squirrel cage onto the shaft.

Shaft has a washer and a clip holding the washer in place.  No way to push the squirrel cage too far onto the motor shaft.  Squirrel cage mounting hole is designed to make sure the cage goes on one way.  One end is round and the other is oblong to fit the tip of the shaft.

Hardest part was getting the star head screw back into place just by feel.  Couldn't see it with the cage blades in the way.  At least I didn't drop anything down into the unit or off the roof.

    Thanks!

I think I'm most curious as to folks here's experience buying multiple times from same dealer and what sort of perks they get added. The RV'ers I know personally are on #5 or #6 coach 10 years in..... We're repeat buyers!

IMO, 5 or 6 coaches in 10 yrs is a bit different than 2 coaches in 2 years.  And, you admit the salesman and sales manager from your first deal are both gone.  So the people you're dealing with now don't know you from your first deal.

If this is a mom and pop dealer, maybe they would remember you if you come back in a few years.  If this is a dealer in a chain, like CW, I doubt they would remember you, or even care.

    True..

BUT this is a screaming deal! 30% off MSRP 4.25% apr...

I have shopped elsewhere and best they can do is $6000 more and 5..75% (by all indications).....

    But still...not even a slinky...

I'd feel better if I walking towards a better deal not just simply away....

You KNOW you're getting a "screaming deal", but you're not happy?  You want MORE?

Maybe you should tell the dealer your feelings and see what they have to say.

  10. My past experience with the USPS web site forced me to use the hard copy card to get my mail forwarded.  The web site was a 50-50 proposition whether forwarding or putting mail on hold.  Simply not reliable.  Worst part was even if the hold/forward was successful, USPS didn't always hold/forward.  Talk about a cluster.

    youtube is your friend

I'm glad you said that.  I mentioned in my initial post, I searched youtube and came up with nothing on replacing the squirrel cage on a Mach 1.  Sure, there are vids for other rooftop systems, but it didn't give me anything for the various search parameters I used.  Well, I did a couple more searches and I guess I hit the right keywords.  Found a vid that had most of what I need.  Should be able to do the job once the weather breaks.

    THANKS!!

If It is the same model Mach as I have the squirrel  cage is replaced from the top. The insulation in the chamber with the squirrel cage had come loose and was hitting the blower and causing a scraping noise. It is a pain to get the housing apart and I had to move the finned coil to get the motor and blowers out of the housing. I didn't need to remove the cage fron the motor shaft but If it is like the home furnace squirrel cage blower I replaced you need to be sure how far it slides on the motor shaft. I forgot to check before I losened  it so I had to move it a few times until I got it that it didn't scrape the housing when running when I did mt home furnace.

It is probably less than an hours work. There was some of the aluminum foil duct tape on the housing that I had to remove so you might need some of that to seal things up during reassemble.

    Pat

Thanks.  I have to give it a few days for weather to settle.  At least it is not hot.
