  1. Danielle and I arrived in Woodland Park, CO for the summer. Diamond Campground. Come and visit. Arrived with the temp at 30* and snow flurries all the way up from the Springs. Just wet on the road, though. Got unhooked and the sky cut loose. Two inches and 23* this morning.
  2. And, some were even carried if my memory serves me....and since I don't drink, I do kindda remember that night....
  3. Chris, you can put any kind of bed on an HDT that you can dream up. A Flatbed with pop-in stake sides would give you the utility you want and still allow towing of any kind of trailer. Just recess the hitch to the level of the deck and put a cover-plate on it when using as a flatbed.
  4. Hey Tim, come over and visit.....4105 Lark, Retama
  5. Yeah, Gene, this weather really stinks....but it should be nice in the next couple of days....
  6. Got to Retama finally. Nice and warm...in the upper 70's the last two days. I don't know what all the gripping from the people that have been here for awhile about the cold is....I think it is nice and toasty here.
  7. Got back to AL after a second day of 500+ miles. Slept in a WalMart the second road night - it got down to 21*F....truck was kinda cold in the morning!! Good thing I had a good sleeping bag. SUre is nice cruising bobtail in this truck....especially with the nice seats I have.
  8. Headed back to AL.....Last night was mid-teens but the truck started easily in the morning, and I had a ceramic heater overnight....no cold issues. Did OVER 500 miles today. 500+ tomorrow will get me back to warm weather....
  9. I'm in Junction City, KS at the Horizons factory - working on my rig. Yes, they are actually letting me help build it.... I am just here for this week. Been working on the BluDot and "all things electrical". Pretty interesting, actually. But the 6am start time is not good Danielle and Poppy are in AL with the rig. I'm living in the truck in the parking lot (with power). Shower down the block at the truck stop.
  10. Gail, we will be in Summerdale next Sunday. I'll look you up sometime the following week.
  11. We are SE of Lynchburg, VA for 3-4 weeks - then head south to AL.
  12. Leaving Horizons (Junction City, KS) this morning and headed to Lynchburg VA area for a few weeks. Should take a week to get there. We enjoyed our free week of "camping" here.
  13. We are in Junction City, KS at Horizons. Got the factory tour today. Specing out a new rig....Pretty nice...just have to be able to afford it!!
  14. Rodney, you might want to give my website a look.....in the sig line. And look at Mark Bruss's website as well....here
  15. Rocky and Sheri now have an RV spot.....they were boondocking for 2 days in our storage and workshop area..... Rocky built a computer workstation/slide like mine yesterday. Moved the CB elsewhere. Today he should be remounting the Pressurepro to the overhead console. He wants to do touristy stuff....but I told him the truck comes first.... We will see if he believes me
  16. You NEED reservations if you go later or on a busy day. Almost every day is busy there - at least when we were there. But if you eat early - like you guys do - then you may get away without reservations mid-week. Parking is tight there...they park all along the access road. So if you go early there will be parking along the access road and you will have no issues. It is expensive, but worth it for a one-time feast. At least when we were there. The campgroung is expensive IMO - about average for the area, or perhaps a little cheaper than the others.....but still expensive. There will be good parking for your truck at the campground if you stay there....and you can walk to the Inn to eat...there is a path through the woods, or you can walk along the road.
  17. Gene, if you are still in CDA I HIGHLY recommend that you go to the east side of the lake to Wolf Lodge Inn ??? the steak house - can't remember the official name. It is right next to Wolf Lodge Campground. It is one of the best steak houses in the country. You won't regret it. If you get to the campground say Hi to Dave and Janie - the owners - for us. We used to work there.....
  18. I agree with Jim. First welcome aboard....second, I would keep hunting. There are LOTS of good trucks out there. Nothing wrong withthe M11 - although I would prefer the electronics in my ISM. But I would never buy a truck without a Jake. Also, on the M11 - make sure you can bump that hp/torque up. On some engines you can not. If you are going to change trucks, why not get one with the "right" equipment.....(of course, we can not tell you what is "right" for you - but we can say what has proven to be the best for most....)
  19. Hey, Marv, come on by any time. But a call or email should ensure that we are not working that day. I'd love to see the Piaggio if you feel like riding it up (or carrying it )
  20. In Woodland Park - near Colorado Springs - until we leave for the HDT Rally in October. Visitors are welcome!! On edit - well I missed something - this was supposed to go in the stickies...Jon, can you move it?
  21. Al, look in the resouce guide at the top of the HDT forum and you will find the details. There is one markd Rally in the stickies. If you have trouble finding it, repost and I'll put a link to it....
  22. Ed, I would try to get to the Hutchinson Rally as well. Lots of opportunity to drive trucks, and there are activities for the ladies, as well as seminars on various topics. It is more of an educational rally. The East Coast Rally is more of a social rally, without seminars. David - correct me if I'm wrong. COnsider it an investment - there are hotels if you need them and we welcome all.....
  23. Nice going, Jim. And you are welcome back any time to Retama. Oct-Dec is open on that lot or our personal lot..... I'll be interest in what you do with your Volvo.
