  1. Heading up to Howe, IN for some warranty work on the DRV and a factory tour. Nothing major but just a few items.
  2. In Birmingham, AL for the next 4 weeks. We are renovating my Mom-in-law's condo for her 75th birthday. Staying at the Hoover RV Park.
  3. Arrived at Rainbow Park last night in Livingston. Will be here a week to complete all the legal stuff to become Texans...again. Getting the tags done now.
  4. Finishing up the solar install in Mayo, FL. Leaving for Livingston on Wed and will be there until around Feb 5. Look us up if you are in the area.
  5. Near the Orlando, FL area for the week in Claremont at the Thousand trails. May grace Mickey with our presence later this week!
  6. At Carolina landing (1K trails) in Fair play, SC until Jan 10. Then down to Tampa for the RV super show Jan 13-17.
  7. You mentioned that it is OK if a person wants to take several weeks of unpaid leave to visit certain sights. Is it discouraged? Or does the Project Mgr just move on to the next person and when you "come back online" then they'll assign you to the next project? Just wondering if a person did the unpaid leave several times a year if there would be any negative consequences (other than not being paid). Thanks David
  8. We will be in Charleston, SC for Christmas starting 12/23 to visit our daughter. Then up to Myrtle Beach to visit a few friends on Jan 2 then we will head down to FL to have John Palmer install solar around Jan 7 then we will be at the Tampa RV show starting Jan 13. We'll be the large set up in the parking lot!!!! LOL Hope to see anyone who is there.....Jack, we'll drop by to visit!! David
  9. Well, we are living in our DRV fulltime. All of our stuff went to our daughter which came in handy since she bought her first house. It is fully outfitted and we purged! Win/win! My wife has retired and my last day is Dec 25! We hit the road to out daughter's and then to Tampa.
  10. Hello to all! My wife and I are going to be fulltimers on February 1, 2016. We have purchased the rig and are waiting on a few items to be completed before they are all mated together. Herrin is building our bed on the back of our Volvo so we can haul our Smart around. The DRV 44Houston is being completed at the dealer with a few punch list items to repair. The house sold in 1 day last April for full list price so we are now in an apartment trying to get all of our photo's scanned into our hard drive! whew! We are excited and will be in Hutchinson, KS for the HDT rally in October as our first major trip with our set up. Hope to see many of the Class of 2016 on the road. David
  11. We are getting final pricing on the truck & coach. We are still planning on jumping in on Jan 1 2016! But there is definitely a lot that has to get done first. 2015 will probably just fly!
  12. We too are planning a March 2016 launch date! We've been planning, prepping and budgeting for 5 years and it's now down to 16 months to go. Wow. Time seems like it's accelerating toward 2016. We have decided on a fifth wheel and a Volvo 780 to pull it....so yes, we are going over to the "dark side"! LOL My DW is feverishly converting all of our family photo's to digital and our daughter is eyeing all the "stuff" that she will inherit rather quickly! ha,ha. It's neat to let her have it while we are still able to enjoy her getting it. We plan on finalizing in the next 45 days where we will purchase our HDT & coach from and look forward to attending the Rally in Hutchinson with our newly acquired "home set up". We continue to get a lot of help from this forum and plan on joining Escapee's soon. See you on the road.....in 2016.
  13. Well, my wife and I will "throw in" to the Class of 2016 as well. We have been planning this for several years but have gotten serious about it as we enter into the final 3 years. Our daughter will be done with graduate school (or nearly done) in 2016 so we will be able to "weigh anchor" and begin our new adventure. We've been RVing since 1995 in TT's but will fulltime in a new 5'er and a new tow vehicle (which I am still researching). My wife and I have moved 8 times over the past 20 years so we have been in a state of continual "downsizing" or should I say, we downsize each time we move from all the times we "upsized" after each move. Oh well.... We are excited about doing this and look forward to getting together with everyone...especially at our first Q visit!
