  1. We began our Summer racing adventure late Thursday afternoon. Wichita Raceway Park was 315 miles away so we were going half way on Thursday. Half way the first trailer tire blew. I replaced 2 tires Friday morning in Stephensville, TX. and that afternoon another tire blew so we replaced the other 2 in Jacksboro, TX.  Setting up at the race track the slide awning ripped the brackets off the slide. Saturday after 2 time trials it was time to race. When I left the starting line the rear ujoint broke and hurt the drive shaft. Now I need to find a driveshaft shop to fix it and a part to fix the slide awning and the city RV park we are at the 50 amp plug didn't work so the city is sending out an electrician. It was in the mid 90's yesterday too. We'll be here 3 nights then on toward Denver.

    Travel safe everyone.

  2. We took the race car out Friday night and Saturday. It went pretty well for the first outing in 4 years,so the plan to take the car with us this summer is still on. Next projects is new tires for the motorcycle along the new house stuff before we leave in a couple of weeks.

    Travel safe everyone.

Ha ha, we didn't pay that much.

2013 Thor Challenger - 37 feet, gas engine, 3 slides, lots of bells and whistles.  We love it.

We are waiting for our final funds so it will be a while before we can take possession.

    Congratualtions!!! It sounds very nice.

Congrats on the house building, Jeff!

Gonna have an RV spot for us visitors?  Haha

We do like having a place to keep all the toys :)

Thanks Sue. We hope to be in the house in a year. No RV spots though but Potter's Creek COE is close by.

  5. A visit to the vets office about 2 weeks ago we found out that our Cali had a broken tooth again. She got it pulled last Friday and she also had a broken tooth last year. Levi the cat got a rabies shot and he's doing great for a 17 year old cat. Doesn't look a day over 9. LOL.

Here is some real news. We've decided to have a house built on our land near Canyon Lake, Texas. They are going to slow roll the process early so we can still travel this summer and be back in the fall to watch it being built. Probably won't make it to Q next year.

Been busy getting things together for this summer.

  6. Joe -  Anymore we fill the tank and run off the pump all the time. Much better pressure.

Made a big move today maybe 6 miles. We need to stay in the area for another month for doctor appointments. Got my race car running yesterday, boy it sounds good. It's been 4 years since I've heard it run. Lots of other things to do to get ready for the summer. One things is new tires for the motorcycle and I've bought batteries for the race car, generator, motorcycle and the break away for the trailer. Last April my enclosed car trailer and motorcycle trailer both got beat up by hail. Waiting for the insurance adjuster to come look at both of them. Will get them fixed later don't have time before we need to get on the road again. Lovely.

    Travel safe everyone.

Sorry to hear that Delcie has had health problems, but glad she is on the mend.  That said, Freddie are you real sure you want to spend the summer in Texas?  Remember that ole Rainmaker Jeff is there also so you will prolly have wet weather and FLOODING.

Thanks Joe. I'm trying to shake the curse. Haven't had rain for a week. LOL!

Everyone you ask is going to have a different suggestion based on their own preference. The range is huge from Hondas to Jeeps to numerous other vehicles.  It depends a little what you like.and what the motorhome will pull.  Start looking and do research before you buy.  FMCA puts out a list based on year of vehicle.

Toni - Jeri is spot on. Jeep's are easy to set up and tow but if you aren't going to do much off road driving a small car might be best. Make sure what ever you decide is towable.

We just bought a 2007 Ford F-250 King Ranch crewcab diesel pickup yesterday. It has just less then 68k miles on it. We kept the old Jeep. LOL.

  9. Very windy drive today from Fort Stockton, Tx. to Kerrville, Tx. 250 miles of south/ southeast winds. My mileage went in the tank. :(  Saw our first Bluebonnets just east of Ozona. Here for a few days then move to Canyon Lake area just north of San Antonio.  :)

So, June 9th in Bend shouldn't be too bad?

We've got from now till then to get there...any suggestions for stops along the way?

Use your Elk's membership. Many nice Elk's lodges in the west. Along the coast and inland as well.

That's because you sent it to the Oregon Coast.  We had to spend ALL day inside just watching the rain and the waves as they crashed on the rocks just below our balcony here in Depot Bay today.  I told Sharon that it was Jeff's fault.

    Joe

Blame me for rain but don't blame me for other weather like tornado's, hurricanes, blizzards, etc.    Joe wet, gray, drizzle, and rain has been our experience with the Oregon coast during our 2 visits there. Not sure we ever saw the sun shine while we were on the coast. Stay dry.

    Travel safe everyone.

  12. It's time to move on toward Texas today. It's been great to see everyone again in Arizona. We recently spent time with Jeri and Terry also Freddy and Delcie at Escapade in Tucson. Yesterday alone we had brunch at Tom and Dianne's with Roger and Lynn, Also got a tour of Dave and Nancy's new house just down the street. It's time to get to Texas to get ready for this summer's adventures.

    Travel safe everyone.

Thanks, Dave. I thought before before the update there were around 350 pages or so on this thread. I'm not going to go back to the beginning and reread them all to see if there are any gaps. LOL.

You all enjoy that warm weather down there and let me know when you want to cool off, I'll send some more rain and snow that way.

    Joe

We are supposed to get in the 40's tonight. We also had heavy rain and hail today , enough to look like snow on the ground. Jeff has an amazing talent in regards to wet weather. Jeff also had healthy beer last night also, looked healthy anyway. I know my beer was healthy.
