  1. We had to put our kitty Levi down today. He was nearly 18, think he had a good life. He was a good boy.  :(

I was funny to see how "silly" the locals were over the snow last week. I didn't become concerned in Colorado until it got to a foot deep. I lived there for 30 years before I bought my first 4x4 and 25 years before I bought my first set of chains. If it was bad I stayed home.

Tap, tap. Is this thing on?

I think most of the others are on Facebook. They rarely post here anymore. I'm not on Facebook. O well.

We got SNOW last night here in the San Antonio area. Maybe a couple of inches on the grass and cars. Second earliest snow in history here. Most schools are on a 2 hour delay. LOL! People are going nuts. Local TV was breaking into shows last night to talk about the snow.

Our house is going pretty quick we think. Check it out on our blog.

    Travel safe everyone.

  3. We met Jerry and Janice for breakfast yesterday and if your ears were ringing you know why. LOL. It was great to see them again. Wish they could've stayed longer.

We went to Wurstfest on Sunday (my birthday) and last night again. Lots of great food, BEER and polka music. You haven't lived until you've heard Ozzy Osbourne's song Crazy Train done by a polka band (Alex Meixner Band). Great fun. Wooo Wooo!!!!

"&" is a special character that has its own meanings in computer languages. You can try "+" if you want since it is more likely to work.

    Linda

Thanks Linda. I went with a "+" instead of "&" and the "+" didn't print. O well, Tina says to write out the word "and".

Daylight savings time again. Fall back one hour.

We have started our trek west.  In Mississippi and after visiting with grandsons, we will continue westward.  Hope to visit with everyone this winter.

Sounds like a good idea Linda.  This implant thing is good, but it takes 3 months to get it all done.  I had a broken front tooth and the dentist in Oklahoma (or was it a veterinarian) started the implant process, so I had to find someone here in Yuma to finish the job.  Sigh!!

You didn't go to Algodones for the dentist?

Friday I went in for an eye exam. I've had cataract surgery on both eyes (left eye early 2011 and right eye 2 1/2 years ago). A year after my right eye surgery while playing with my puppy she stepped on my eye. My vision has slowly gone fuzzy with my right eye. Come to find out I needed a YAG laser procedure.

     https://www.webmd.com/eye-health/cataracts/ndyag-laser-posterior-capsulotomy-for-cataracts

I had both eyes done and the right eye was far worse. What a difference. Go back in a couple of weeks to check my prescription.

    No. Don't think so Sue.

It's still baseball season and my team may make the playoffs for the first time since 2009. GO ROCKIES!!!! They have been the worst run team in the league and this may be a fluke year. I hope not.

Congrats on the 6 years, that's a good chunk of time out seeing the country. Far more than most will ever see. Is the plan to continue having a RV after the house is finished or are you going to hang up the keys?

We are keeping the motorhome. We'll still travel some but need it for weekends at the racetrack too.

I feel like the Red Sox have that- everytime we have gone to a game outside of Boston, there were tons of fans dressed in red sweatshirts, but seems like most places love to hate the Pats so we don't see that as much.  But then, i don't pay that much attention, since i really focus on watching the game.

Pats = Evil Empire. LOL!    Hi Sue.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

  9. Yesterday was our 6th anniversary of the sale of our house and going fulltime. Our fulltime days are numbered though because of the new house being built. Hope it is finished by next May.  The lot is all graded, got to resurvey for the house.

I notice there is a southward movement by a few. Guess it is that time again.

Got our flu shots on Saturday too. Have you gotten yours?

My Broncos didn't have a good game yesterday either. The season is young.

    Travel safe everyone.

  10. Went by our property today and they were getting ready to break ground. WooooWoooo!!!

Sorry to hear about your colds Steve. It  may be a little farther away but did you check into the Westminster Elks? Cabelas is probably the closest place to dump from there too.

Toni glad your trip went well. It's good to be home.

Seems like most Tiffins make that annual migration to Red Bay. LOL.

    We all miss IYQ.

  11. Did you stay up last night to watch the Football game (Chargers-Broncos)? I was flipping between football and baseball (Rockies- D-backs) and they both were nail biters at the end. My "teams" got the win. The football game started way too late. It was almost 12:30 am when it ended. It was like being in the Eastern time zone.

Going to warm back into the 90's again. Summer is not over yet.

    Travel safe everyone.

I'm not sure if Facebook killed the thread or if what I hear about some of the original group wanting to split things up is the cause but regardless it seems we got in on the tail end of the party and you are right, this thread is for all practical purposes lost it's luster.

As far as football goes you know that I'm a KC fan and Diane is a cheaters,,,,,,, I mean Patriots fan so it was a interesting night here LOL!! And it was her birthday to LOL!!! None the less KC made one good opening season statement last night. I do know that watching the late games while on east coast time sucks LOL!!

     Stay well down there.

I thought you'd like last night, I forgot Diane was for the other team. If I'm not rooting for my Broncos I'll be pulling for the team from the west. Watching in the Eastern time zone sucks. Broncos are on very late Monday night. Crazy. You made me LOL!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY DIANE!

    Jeff   :)

  13. Come on People. Has facebook killed this thread?

Not even a comment on last nights football game?

Here in the Austin-San Antonio, Hill Country area We've had a gas shortage since Harvey. Stations a slowly coming back but limited fuel. Regular unleaded only (87) no 89 or 93 and not all stations that sell diesel have it yet.

    Travel safe everyone.

    Jeff   :)

  14. We are lucky. Only got about 4-5 inches of rain and some winds that would shake the rv. They've taken off the flash flood warning for our area. I'm sure everyone has seen on the news what has happened in other parts of Texas. Harvey has made a mess of things, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

We are still in Paducah, I am getting stronger every day, it will probley be Thanksgiving before we get on the road again. Delcie has come up with some issues. She has enlarged limph nodes in her leg and a mass in the tail of her pancres. We are waiting for bipopsy results, don't know anything yet.

    Life Is GOOD!!!

Tina & Jeff, you've really outdone your rain makin' talents this time. Hope that you are both okay and hanging in there. Let us know when you can on how it's going down there in Texas. Good thing they hadn't broken ground on your house. It would be a swimming pool of mud and water by the sounds of it!

    R

We've had continuous rain for the last 3 hours and it's not going to let up for a while. Also get a gust of wind every now and then too. When it's all done we may get up to a foot of rain.

We are glad they haven't started on the house yet too. Hope it doesn't delay the start next month too much.

    Travel safe everyone.

  17. When things work then don't work then work again you know it will happen again because they don't heal themselves. They usually quit at the most inappropriate time.

Steve - Don't forget your snow tires or chains going to Colorado. Might want a snow shovel too. I saw snow every month of the year while I lived in the Denver area except July.

We are getting rain right now and have flash flood warnings until the Aug. 27.

    Travel safe everyone.

Dang, you morning temps are above our mid day highs LOL!! Hang on, it will cool down soon.

The heat index is still in the 80's in the morning. Afternoon highs the heat index is around 105. Sure glad my ACs work. You coming through Texas? If so stop by for a visit.

We're sweating in Phoenix right now.  This hot weather sure makes you appreciate the cool mornings we recently complained about in the Pacific NW.

It's been so hot here in Texas the morning lows are between 75 & 80 degrees and the heat index around 105. I've had no desire to work on my racecar inside of the trailer. It has doors on 3 sides but it would still be like an oven. Looks like we'll have tropical storm Harvey bringing us lots of rain this weekend. More humidity is what we need. LOL!

    Travel safe everyone.
