Question on your tire pressures. Are dropping the do to temperature or ??  I started my trip with a 120 psig with a temperature in the mid twenties and arriving in Texas having pressures of close to 125 psig ( within the rule of 1 PSIG change per 10 degrees ambient change)

I have completed my run south without any emergencies. But I put the slides out before running my hand over the tires to see if I have any addition raised thread. I going to wait till next year to do my tire shopping. Lots of sales people you tell you stories. I haven't heard of the Hercules 17.5 inch tires and I was told that Cooper has a good USA made tire but I haven't confirmed. On the GY tires, I haven't talked to Discount Tire but others I have talked to say that is a Commercial Tire and not available to me.

I don’t worry about temperature unless it spikes. I lowered my pressure because at 125 I was loosing tread. Since I lowered it I haven’t had any separation. I have been through a bunch of tires too.

  2. I bought the discount tire warranty for mine si I haven’t paid full price yet. Based on weight I should be running 125 lbs of pressure. Since I dropped to 118 lbs I haven’t had any tread peal off. Still watching. When I have to pay full price I will go to Hercules tires.

  3. The likely bolt that sheared is the one at the end that is not moving. Go to Lowe’s or Home Depot and get you the white boards to make a yard sign. Cut a flap in the belly large enough to work in. Use a large crescent to rotate the square tubing to get the holes to line up. Insert the bolt and install the nut. Get nylon locknuts. I keep several on hand. Cut a piece of the yard sign material larger than your hole. Close the flap and cover with the yard sign material. Insert screws and enjoy your slide.

  4. My dryer quit heating. There is a cover on the back that comes off. There are 2 smaller screws on the cover that hold the heating element and thermostats on. After removing all the screws, you then need to remove the screws holding the thermostats on. There is 1 screw in each. The one with the silver dot is what they call the one shot thermostat. It opens at 220f or when it decides to go bad. The one with the purple dot is the cycling thermostat. It opens at 150f and closes 25f lower. It almost never goes bad. It is also hard to find a replacement. I haven’t been able to yet.

I went to an appliance parts place and he sold me part no. LA-1053. I used the thermal fuse, it has numbers  on the face. It opens at 239. Not enough difference to worry about. It replaces the one with the silver dot. If you check them with an ohm meter, the one that is open will be bad. You will need to bend the tabs down to get it to all fit crack together. It is easily done by just pushing down on the connector after it is attached to the thermostat. The other 2 thermostats in the kit won’t be used. They are the cycling thermostats but have too high a temperature for our machines. You can call Splendide in Oregon but I am sure they will want your first born for the parts.

I hope this helps someone to repair their dryer. The actual repair is quick and easy, but accessing the back of the machine is what takes the time.

  5. If coming from the south on 25 Take Paseo Del Norte and keep right. There is a Lowe’s there at the intersection. Pull in and u hook. Leave the parking lot on the east and turn lt. That will be San Pedro. Stay in San Pedro until you get to Alameda. Turn lt on Alameda and go u dear 25 to the balloon grounds. If you try to go to the balloon museum, it will probably be too crowded for you to get in the parking lot.

if anyone needs a place to stay, call Coronado Village and see if they have any sides available.  505-823-2515. They’ll then Ron in 228 recommended them.

  6. If you get up on the ladder and inspect it, you will see the piece that rotates has a little nub sticking down. On the base there are two knobs sticking up. They are to keep the antenna from rotating too far. The nub can get caught between the nubs. You will see what I am talking about when you look. If this is the problem, lift and turn. Then go inside and remove the crank, spring and round piece that you use to rotate the antenna. Look inside and you will see a plastic nut. Use a deep socket to tighten by hand. I don’t remember the size.

  7. They charge insurance more because they can. If they only charged insurance $200 it would be discounted. There is also more paperwork with insurance and waiting to be paid. The windshield in y T2000 was less than $200.

  8. Mine was doing the sale thing. I would leave for the day and the front would be on the ground when I returned in the evening or in the morning. If you open the compartment where your pump is, look on the jack. You will see a silver thing about 3 inches long screwed into the side at the top. It will have a coil on it with wires coming off. You need to hook it to your truck before you remove the valve. If you want I can post a picture of it on the jack and also loose, unless my loose one fell out on the road.

Go go here for the documentation for the level up system https://support.lci1.com/towable-br-level-up-support-towable-level-up-br-touch-pad the valve is called a cartridge valve. The coil is reusable. It will just slip off when you remove the valve. The valves are all the same. If the jack is leaking out the bottom, it would be better to remove it and take it to a hydraulic shop to reseal it.

A gasoline power vehicle has to be inspected for the county of registration.  A diesel powered u nit can be inspected anywhere in the state, since they are not smog tested.

You do not have to be inspected in your county of registration. I am registered on Polk County but I have my Jeep inspected in Hale county in the panhandle. What happens if you are registered in the south and you are just passing through the panhandle? You are supposed to have it inspected within three days of entering the state. You may not even be going down to your registration county.

For my case it may be because no smog is required for either county.
