  1. The first I ever saw one of these was about 3 hours ago as we came past Blue Sky RV Park in the Foothills area of Yuma, AZ. The RV sits towards the front of the park is the only reason I saw it. Personally myself, after 18 years of snowbirding and also about six months of summer the last two years in the Foothills, there is no way I'd want one. The winds and "popup" storms could take that to the next county. And another downside is the possibility that when it breaks loose it could damage nearby RVs.

  2. Borrowed an Apache tent camper from a friend in 1974 to go to races at Pocono Raceway. Just an ice box and a gas stove. It rained like anything one of the days we were there. Had a ball. In 1975 we bought a Viking tent trailer, again, just an ice box and gas stove. First trip out, Myrtle Beach Travel Park, Myrtle Beach, SC. Late 1976, sold the Viking and bought a 1976 21' Prowler Travel Trailer. Used that hard until we had the misfortune of flipping it at the Maryland-West Virginia state line at the Potomac River. Then our local U-Haul was going out of the RV sales, had a friend that worked there and just about stole a 1988 Terry 29' travel trailer. Used that until going full time in 2003. Sold the Terry in about 2 hours in Yuma, AZ. and bought a 2004 39' Alfa fiver. Still have that and it is permanently on our RV lot here in Yuma. In January of 2021 we bought a 30' 2005 Alfa fiver for our traveling unit in the summer.

After sitting out the last two Summers due to medical reasons (covid avoidance as well as 'other'), we will be leaving Wellton, AZ for our favorite workamping site, Hart Ranch, in Rapid city, SD.   After the Summer... Michigan for a few months to stay with kids & grandkids, then Texas for family there, then back to Wellton!   Life is good!

Glad to see that you will be escaping Wellton after having to be in the "no travel" mode. Have safe and enjoyable travels. We have a bad case of "hitch itch".

  4. Jason, don't know if this will help, but. Go to www.etrailer.com and hit on leaf springs for 3500 lb. axles. If the trailer is close to Tractor Supply or a place similar, I'd chance it. Or get one locally with the ability to be able to return it.

  5. Linda, you can use this facility. North Gila Transfer Station. It is north off Hiway 95 off 7E. Turn between Chevron and Circle K. Continue north on 7E. There will be a sign showing a right turn to facility. It is free, very well run and easy to use. Do not need to be a county resident. As you are familiar in this area, watch for the agriculture workers and equipment.  If you need more info let me know.

  6. Have had Carefree slide covers that also doubles as a window awning on our 2004 Alfa fiver that we bought new. The original Carefree material was a sunscreen material with the first 10" from the trailer being vinyl. A couple of years ago, the vinyl started to separate so I had a local outfit here in Yuma, AZ. sew up new sunscreen material to replace the original. Really like them.
