  1. If you have the time to take the San Juan loop, it's well worth it in my opinion. A stop at the Silverton mine was enjoyable as well as some treks off the beaten path up some of the mountain roads. I was on my 1982 Honda Goldwing for most of those rides and other than fjording a stream that was deeper than I expected and waking up one morning with frost on the bike (when it had been 90+ the day before). I worked in Gallup and made at least 8 trips around the loop with either my pickup, motorcycle or the new 1994 Dodge Caravan (I purchased while in Gallup). I saw something new on each outing. Rod
  2. Jim, It's a nice place to visit but the food has gone way down hill. As I write this having coffee the next morning, I still feel the tough dry Iowa chop in my belly. I was so looking forward to one this summer but that one may have ruined it for me. I can usually find something good to eat, but last night it was difficult. The eggs this morning were ok, so maybe if you order off the menu it would be Ok. Rod
  3. Nice visit with the Springfield clan yesterday. Ice cream, pizza and homemade "Buckeyes". Left this morning and just finished dinner at the Largest Truck Stop in the world. Probably won't do.that.again soon. Will park in Shueyville , IA tomorrow. Rod
  4. Left the Little Bit Ranch yesterday without issue. Stayed last night at John Prince Park in Lantana, FL. Great park, was able to back into a spot with my trailer wheels still on the pad and the front of the truck right at the edge. The first spot they tried to send me to was about 3 foot too short. I do love the paved pads, no more tracking sand in every time I go in and out the door. Waiting on my daughter to come pick me up for breakfast, and then off to the midwest. Hope to stop by to see Robert, Heidi and the brood on the way through. Rod
  5. Haven't looked at the photos yet, but want to thank you for them in advance. I have stopped twice only to find the place closed. It seemed quite expensive from the signs. Was it worth the money and the time? Rod
  6. Did you send the info to Trey so it can be put on the Map? I might be heading West one of these days. Rod
  7. I am a previous Weekend Warrior owner and would not recommend putting any street legal 4 wheel vehicle in the Garage. I started off carrying a Mini Cooper in the box on the truck and continued to have the motorcycle in the Toyhauler garage, but with my new trailer it's much nicer knowing if I have an issue with the truck I will be able to off load the car to assist and not have to figure out how to load something on the motorcycle. (if required.)My Isuzu VehiCross with it's all wheel drive has no problem crawling up the ramps into the trailer. A loading dock is much easier, but sometimes they are hard to find. Rod
  8. I stayed there on my first trip with my HDT and trailer coming out of Florida several years ago. The young men there were a great help. I did have my younger brother , his wife and son and my youngest daughter with me at the time though. Rod
  9. I don't know if I am allowed to post here but that is great news. The more she moves the sooner she can go somewhere that sick people don't always hang out. Keep the watch on the hand washing of EVERY PERSON WHO WALKS INTO HER ROOM. No matter if they touch her or not. They will have touched something in another room and will touch something in your room. Rod
  10. Just reviewed the site and find several areas that look like a link (blue color on my computer). Nothing happens when I hover or attempt to click. I did sign in with my Google account. Is it my computer settings or something I am missing? Rod
  11. I was thinking of taking a detour throught Knoxville, Would have kept me in the cold weather too long though. My batteries are not doing well with the Fridge and the furnace running too. Have turned both off for now. Not much in the fridge anyway, and have gotten to above 45 for the outside temperatures. Sitting in the First Rest stop in Florida on I-75, Trying to decide if Ga fuel is cheaper then Fl. Last year it wasn't. Rod
  12. The trip South started this morning. Following the snow storm heading to the Northeast. All roads fine in Iowa but as soon as I crossed into Missouri they were 70% snow packed. Pulled off at the Flying J truck stop at Wayland and had brunch, filled a propane tank and messed around until I thought enough time had passed to have the melting to take place. Timing was pretty good. Not sure, but I think maybe the Flying J paid the state to not put a melting agent on the road for 10 miles around their truck stop. Funny how the road was completely clear in Iowa and then 10 miles down the road from the Truck Stop it got clear again. Found a good Campground for a stop. WIll take photos tomorrow and ask if I can list them for the HDT Campground site. It's Whittington Woods at Benton Whittington, IL phone 618-435-3401 and open even in December. Rod Should have checked the Guide before. It's already in there. rod
  13. Chip and Ruth, Check the Walls up post. there should be a link to some photos there. If you don't find it PM me and I will send you a link. . I am back at Space Craft for some things. Staying in the colder temperatures than they expected. Glad I found out now and not in a few years when I may stay North in the snow over a winter to see if I really still miss it. Jack and Danielle came by to take a look and Roger and Debbie plan to see it too. Hope I am still here to show it off, but plan to leave it and head back North until after Thanksgiving. It's supposed to be 5 in Cedar Rapids Saturday so I don't think the truck and trailer will miss being exposed to those conditions. Concordia is forecast to remain in the teens. Rod
  14. Parked in Shueyville, Iowa (just south of Cedar Rapids) until Mid December. Had to drive through snow today to get there. My nice bright shiny new trailer is no longer. It is covered with mud Ice and Snow. Hope it warms up enough in the next few days that I can wash it. Hate seeing it like this. Rod
  15. First 250 miles on the new trailer behind me. Uneventful trip. Shade over 4 hours. Pulled the car in and chalked in where the wheels sit. Put the e-track down and put a few screws in. Will recheck tomorrow before putting the remaining screws in. Sitting at the Tire Shop in Oskaloosa, Ia. Rod
  16. Hanging out at Space Craft. Got here around 1430 hours today just soaking in all the information. A few things to tidy up and then I need to wait for my Brother to arrive either tomorrow or Saturday morning with the car to see if it all works as planned. This is one solid house. Can't wait back up to it and take it for a little outing tomorrow. Rod
  17. Left the Rally this morning. Nasty head and side wind most of the way. Arrived Concordia late afternoon. Anxiously waiting to see the progress up close and personal. I will put this somewhere else too but I have to say this was the most entertaining, educational, excellent weather and fantastic food HDT Rally ever. Thanks to all who came and participated, the planners, presenters and organizers. Rod
  18. Finished a bit of packing today, hooked up and pulled to Oskaloosa from Cedar Rapids (Iowa). Will head to SpaceCraft in Concordia in the morning. Hope to take lots of photos of the progress so far. Bringing the cooktop and the ramp attachment to be mounted below the garage door. Not sure how long I will stay, guess it depends on if they are doing something I want to see. Don't want to do the KC afternoon traffic so might just wait until Saturday morning to make the trip across to Hutch. Looking forward to seeing everyone again. Rod
  19. Nice, where did you find them? My old horn looks like a combination of you pictures. Should look like the new one but only has one trumpet, so it looks like your old one. It is pretty sad in the sound category and unfortunately when the kids do the honk your horn request I have to pretend I didn't see them. Need to get that fixed soon.
  20. My truck, trailer and motorcycle are at the Flatgard RV spot south of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It's off I 380 at exit 10 Shueyville/Swisher. Will be there until at least September and most likely November. Hope to make it to the Rally in October. I spend the weekends in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
  21. I was in Orlando for a bit and we only got a stray sprinkle. Glad I missed the Hail hope you were not in the middle of it. Enjoy your time in Florida, it's starting to heat up again and the storms will be getting more frequent. I'm in the West Palm area for another month, maybe two. Rod
  22. Rick and Alana, Have a safe trip North . I know you told me where you were heading but I forgot. You still have my number for your trip through Iowa on RAGBRI. Start riding some hills soon. Rod
  23. I most certainly would be interested if I were closer. Does it come with all the slide hardware or is it just the drawer? Probably need to add or subtract that to your message. Good luck.

  24. Set up in my spot in South Florida for at least 5 months, maybe until June. New WiFi Ranger Go, is pulling the signal to me from the park office so far. Not many rigs here yet so that might go away as the park fills up. New managers here didn't like me parking my car next to the trailer on the concrete so I might have to move the truck to a spot a little farther away. It's possible that one of the smallest sites will stay empty this year and I can use it's parking spot. for the car.
