whatsnext Posted February 16, 2017 Report Posted February 16, 2017 Oak Mtn State Park has an equestrian section that will fit big rigs(PELHAM). Birmingham South Campground will fit big rigs as well. It's about 4 miles further south at the "tank farm". 2016 Volvo VNL780 D13 I-Shift 2016 DRV 44 Houston 2015 Smart Cabriolet

docj Posted February 18, 2017 Report Posted February 18, 2017 We stayed at Oak Mountain. The sites are large but, as I recall, are only 30A. That's not such a big problem for us. Weffy Posted February 21, 2017 Report Posted February 21, 2017 This fall my spouse had an appointment at UAB hospital and we stayed 3 days at Oak Mountain state park. We really liked the park and whenever we are in the area we will stay there again. Nice sites with plenty of shade. I have a motorhome that is 50 amps but we have a 50 to 30 amp dogbone and we never had any problems. I also believe the park is open year round.
