Jim & Wilma
Last December we replaced our Norcold refrigerator with the Samsung RF18. We couldn't be more pleased with the added capacity and performance. We got it for a good price but there's a rebate going on bringing the price under $1,000 which is a couple hundred less than we paid. If this is on your project list, this is the best price we've seen in over a year. richfaa
Thanks it is on our "want" list. Interested in real time experience in running with the inverter .Our Nor cold works fine but just to small for our long timing lifestyle. We do have a stand alone freezer in the ear of the Montana. bigboomer
Yep, have to agree with Jim. Our Dometic took the proverbial poop and so we replaced it with the Samsung rf18hfenbbc and are loving it. We run it off the main house inverter. It draws 7 amps per hour which works great for boondocking! http://ramblingrvrat.blogspot.com/?m=1 GOD Bless America! GOD Bless Texas! GOD Bless All of our Troops! If off a small one, which one? Jack, It's off the whole house Magnum MSH3012M. Curious, is there an argument to go with a small dedicated inverter? richfaa
If one does not boondock and runs maybe 8 /10 hours per day when in transit do you need a inverter?? .Our stand alone freezer will increase in temp 4 or 5 degrees without power on a 8/10 hour run on a hot day. bigboomer
Many folks run point to point with the RV frigs turned off and residential frigs will stay colder longer but it is very inefficient. Also depends on the temps your running throught which will influence how long the frig stays cold. A lot of new rigs are coming with a 1000W inverter just for the frig. With a couple of good batteries there should be no issue running between destinations for a day without charging. I prefer to have very cold beer when I arrive at my destination so the frig is always on! http://ramblingrvrat.blogspot.com/?m=1 GOD Bless America! GOD Bless Texas! GOD Bless All of our Troops!
