Wikeee
Hello everyone - just curious of anyone's opinion/experience on whether or not the cost of a solar system installed in a rv is eligible for the federal investment tax credit for solar? I've been researching this and cannot find any exclusion for rv's. The dwelling must be located in the United States that is owned and used as a residence(but does not have to be a principal residence) by the taxpayer. And it looks like the equipment and the labor cost to install the equipment can be used to count towards the credit. Opinions?
Rif
Perhaps this recent discussion about this issue could shed some light on your question: http://www.rvnetwork.com/index.php?showtopic=121152
bigboomer
We submitted our tax credit on the cost of all the materials used to install the solar and wind turbine system on our rig. Since I did the install there was no labor cost. As we are full this is our primary residence and our tax accountant advised us on the whole issue. You should consult with your tax preparer.
