  1. I haven't been able to get on the internet for the past few days and I don't have much of a connection now so I'll make this short and hope I can get it posted. It's looking a little better for me to be in Q on the 15th but still too early to make plans. I don't know what to do about that sign up deal. I guess I'll just play it by ear. Bye and don't be surprised when you don't hear from me. This signal is crazy I get 3 bars and the remote computer will not respond. I get one bar and sometimes I get on anyway. Then I type a post and it disconnects instead of posting. Oh Well. See YA Happy Thanksgiving

    And I'll have spaghetti waiting.

  2. Oh the joys of RV ownership. Jim was hitching up this morning so we could head up to Camp Verde and our front landing jack snapped off. We called one repair shop and they said it would take a week to get the jack in. No good. We then tried Apache Junction RV Service and Supplies. And just when you think customer service is dead, along comes Tom. These guys have gone the extra mile for us. They didn't stock the right jacks but they made a bunch of calls and found some in Phoenix. They didn't have anybody to go get them so off Jim went to pick them up. Called Tom when he got back and Tom came right over to help install them. We decided to just replace both of the front jacks. So Jim and Tom are currently hard at work trying to get us ready to go again. We won't be leaving today - definitely not going to fight the rush hour traffic. So we'll head up early in the morning.

  3.

We are heading out to get flue shots today, how exciting is that. Steve

Hey Steve - that's the same thing Jim and I did today. Not sure we can contain ourselves with all this exciting stuff.

Heading out tomorrow for a Chapter 45 Rally in Camp Verde. Got 24 rigs signed up so it should be a great time.

  4. Freddy & Delcie - we stayed at the Corral also. It worked out perfectly because we didn't have to unhook the boat.

We're in Flagstaff tonight at Black Barts. They let us take two spots so we didn't have to unhook the boat. Think we'll be back in Apache Junction tomorrow. Way hot down there.

  5. Bright and early tomorrow I have to go to the post office and pick up a package that the mail man didn't even put in his truck when he delivered the mail. He stuck a note in the box saying the package was too big and heavy and was in the post office and I could pick it up B-4 noon on Saturday. The only trouble, he didn't deliver the mail or that note until a quarter after 12. And the office didn't give it to me until this morning. And, the package isn't that big or heavy. It's about 6 magazine sized books and a small machine for stroping knives that only weighs about 5 pounds. No wonder the post office is going broke. Tomorrow when I get done with that I'm going to Las Cruces to buy a bike. I'd get one at Wal-Mart but every bike they have has straight handle bars and that makes you lean too far forward while riding. I also want a Grandma seat. You know, one of those that look like a tractor seat. Nice and wide.

Lee - tomorrow is Columbus Day so I don't think the Post Office is going to be open.

  6. Weather is lousy. No snow but rain, and wind, and rain, and wind and more rain. And cold. We did see snow on the mountaintops surrounding us this morning. Those of you who are still north, keep an eye on this weather. It's supposed to be nicer again this week-end but not sure how long that will last. Millie has wings and our girls are growing web feet.

  7. Congratulations Karla and Eric!! This little baby will sure bring lots of joy to your life!!

Sandie -- I17 to 101 Loop to 202. That pretty much will bypass Phoenix coming from the North. It'll also keep you on good roads. You could stay just north of Phoenix and make that trip on a Sunday morning.

Thanks Jeri - I was thinking maybe Lake Pleasant.

  8.

    Sandie,

Zion terrified me when we drove through there a couple years ago. Do you have to drive down that steep mountain rd with the 5th & boat?

    Diane

Diane - we're not taking the RV through the tunnel and over that direction. We're going to just take the truck and go see that area. I'm trying to keep us on pretty "calm" roads since we are so long. I'm trying to plan on how we're going to get through Phoenix to Apache Junction. May take the long way around.

  9. Eric and Karla - congrats you guys. Glad to hear everybody is doing good. Lots of fun.

Lee - so good to hear you are feeling better and not in so much pain. Nice that you're not looking at that ceiling any longer.

Carol A - have a great time at your rodeo. But I know you will. Just try and stay out of trouble.

The weather has been beautiful for our first day at Zion. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous again and then a cold front is coming through. Can't believe I'm using that four letter word.

  10. I didn't think about the getting lost thing. You guys definitely need the GPS. Good luck down in Phoenix. It is 10:30 here and I've had my shower but I'm not dressed yet. Love it.

Excited doesn't even begin to describe how happy I am to be on the road. But it's been so long since I've posted I had to post twice to make up for it.

Glad you got a new chair, Lee. Jim definitely feels better when he's sitting in his recliner with the sleep lever on it. lol

  11. Houston, we have left the drive way. Tonight we're in Butte, MT. Hoping to see my great niece while we're here and do some sightseeing. Must haves are a pasty covered with gravy and a pork chop sandwich. Butte is well known for both of them along with drinking and the big pit. Feels so wonderful to be back on the road again.
