  1. The earlier you can get there the better chance you have of getting a spot. There are also a couple of other spots but I can't think of the names right now. I'll check it out and let you know.
  2. Had such a great time with Tom and Diane and Tina and Jeff. HOWEVER, I am NOT happy that the moose didn't show up until after we left. We're back in Montana, it's raining, and Jim wants to go fishing.
  3. We are back in Montana and settled for a couple of months. Jim is so ready to go fishing and it's raining and predicting more rain for at least the next three days. Montana is happy to have the rain but I wish we could send some of it to California and all those southwestern states. Eric - it will be wonderful to see you guys again. Glad you can make it down our way.
  4. Jim and I are both on Vitamin D - 5000 iu's a day. And Stan is right - took me over six months to get mine up to even an acceptable level. We're having a wonderful time out here in the wilds of Wyoming with Diane and Tom and Jeff and Tina. The campground is beautiful. All sorts of wonderful wild life.
  5. Lee, Jim did the same thing with his oncologist's office. The doctor was fantastic but a couple of the office staff left a whole lot to be desired. The doctor never got any of Jim's calls and appointments weren't set up. When the doctor came to see him in the hospital, Jim told him what he thought about the situation. Our next visit a couple of the staff were no longer there, they had implemented a new program to follow up on phone calls and it was like a whole different place. Sure glad you've been getting some good reports. Sure wish you could get out of that heat though.
  6. Are you going to be in Quartzsite in January. Check out the classless class thread. A whole bunch of us will be meeting up there.
  7. We started full timing in January of 2009. Can't even imagine not living this life. No sticks and bricks for us.
  8. We're in Hawthorne NV. Still not far enough north to get out of the heat. Made it through The ET Highway without being abducted by aliens or arrested by the Men in Black or camo.
  9. Linda - My Mom also had dementia for the last couple years of her life and most of the time didn't have a clue who I was. In a way it was really easy when she died because I knew she was so much happier. It's a sad time but wonderful that the plans were in place to have the body donated. That's what we are planning. Hugs to you girl.
  10. Eric - hard to believe Mallory is celebrating a year old already. Enjoy your summer time especially good times with the family. Freddy and Delcie - Jim really struggles breathing anymore at those higher altitudes. He does great down here in the valley. Which is where we still are. Hoping to leave by the 15th and move a little further north. However it snowed yesterday in Montana so we aren't moving north very fast.
  11. Glad you're safe after all the storms. After all this wind there ought to be a ton of pine needles waiting for you. Have a great summer.
  12. We should be in Q for the gathering and hopefully with Dianna along with us.
  13. Lee - thought about you last night as we sat out and watched the eclipse. Actually made it past midnight. But no pizza or cranberry juice.
  14. I'm not sure I can even handle one day of gray and gloom after this winter. It's been perfect weather wise but rain is desperately needed. I am hoping we will be pulling out the 15th of May if all goes well with Jim's doctor appointments. I have hitch itch so bad I can hardly contain myself. Eric - glad you are back in MI without anymore MH issues.
  15. White Sulphur is about 75 miles from Helena. We should be in Helena around the middle of June. Jim loves to fish down at Canyon Ferry which is just a little bit north of Townsend.
  16. Found this description and it's really pretty good at describing it. Marias Pass where US 2 goes over the continental divide is one of the least steep of the divide crossings, but it is a little windy on the west side. Grade-wise its no problem-- there's a reason why the major transcontinental rail link goes through there. Taking US2 through northwest Montana and Idaho actually avoids two major passes that you would take on I-90, but it is also somewhat windier and because it meanders far to the north in the panhandle it's actually quite a bit longer. Another option is once you're to Kalispell, to cut down on US93 to Montana 200 which is another two lane that also gets you to Spokane with no major passes, but more directly. As for the Cascade passes, Snoqualmie Pass that I-90 goes over has been extensively regraded including a massive causeway-- it is definitely the easier pass than Stevens Pass that US2 uses. US2 intersects and runs with I-90 through Spokane, so I'd definitely recommend taking I-90 from there (or you can take highway 2 to the town of Davenport and cut down on WA-28 and back to I-90 if you want the maximum two-lane driving but still want to take the good pass).
  17. Way toooooo early Paul and Marsha but since you're there I'll keep my fingers crossed for no snow.
  18. Glad you had such a good time with the beet harvest. Growing up in Sidney that was just a part of life. Lots of my classmates folks worked there. We've thought about doing it but not sure we're physically ready for it.
  19. Eric - so sorry about the fridge. Life is definitely not dull. I bet Kora would have been glad to help you eat up some of those fridge things you didn't have room for.
  20. We've spent most of time lately working on the travel trailer. Buying a used model means some work needs to be done. Tonight our park had it's going away party. I can't believe the number of folks who are headed north at the end of the month. I think they're nuts. Then Jim went to the races with a bunch of guys from the park. I'm finally getting caught up on reading blogs and the forum.
  21. Jim said to tell you - no we don't - we have a Chevy.
  22. I think it's funny most of our class-less folks are moving into bigger and newer rigs while we are downsizing (sort of). We bought a 2008 Salem 23 foot travel trailer for traveling around the country in. Will leave the fiver in Arizona year round. We also took Lee's advice and got us a Hensley Hitch. Jim thinks that is going to be the best thing we did.
  23. Toni - that is such fantastic news. So much time to catch up on. Congrats.
