  1. Thanks guys. That would be me. Jim's isn't until September. I keep thinking I'm not going to have any more of these stupid things but they keep coming around every year. Jim is fixing me a steak on the grill with corn on the cob and a salad. Sounds really good to me.

Happy Birthday!! What time is dinner? We're on our way.

  2. HMMMMM never thought about them not liking crab, isn't that Un-American or something? Hey I offered to share some of my catch with you guys................

    Joe

How could you share them? You didn't have any. You had salmon but you didn't share it either. We're coming back when you least expect it. Heck, we might be on our way right now. You'll never know until we get there 'cuz we won't tell. :D

It actually rained last night and today too. We haven't seen any rain for the last 3 months or so. You guys on the West coast just take it in stride, but it's a treat for us.

Actually, it hasn't been that bad other than this has been a very different summer. We've had way more rain than normal and the temperatures have been a lot cooler than it normally is. I guess it has been everywhere though.

  3. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, jess grab a bar of soap and make it work for you. :P As for that turn south thing, I already stationed a welcoming party down there for you and they haven't laid eyes on you yet. :P

    Joe

Now that was funny!! Since we've been on the Oregon coast for nearly a month now, we're thinking that they're waiting until we leave to show up. I think they might be afraid we'll make them go crabbing with us. I'm not sure crabbing is for everyone as Marsha and Sandie and I have discussed. I'll share my pictures of them on my blog but I won't share the crabs we catch!!

  4. Sorry it is taking so long, been waiting on summer to get to the PNW. Seen more rain since we got to Oregon that we have in the last year and a half. Turn south and we will meet you on the Oregon coast somewhere.

    Jerry

We've been waiting for you on the Oregon Coast but you didn't come.

  5.

Actually got tired of sitting around waiting for Jerry and Janice to show up.

They're kind of like the rest of us ... don't expect us until you see the whites of our eyes. We'd been waiting for them too but they have an appointment to get their motorhome in the shop next week. So, unless they post otherwise, none of us may see them for a while.

Justin and Jordan went home today so it's pretty quiet tonight. I'm zonked and we still have food left. Tomorrow is supposed to be a gorgeous day so we plan on just putting around in the boat before we pull it out the next day.

  6. Yippee! Congrats on the New rig, new leaf spring, maybe new tall grass,

Our news is: one new granddaughter - Alison Betty Swain 8 lb 7 oz 21inches on 7/11- a real cutie - lots of dark brown hair. We now get that whole grandparent thing!!!

Congratulations. It's amazing how that little bundle can change your whole outlook on babies and kids! Is Mike sending out virtual cigars?

We were exhausted when we got back from Portland last night. However, we now have more groceries in this little motorhome than we'd ever had. It might have something to do with the two teenagers we brought back from us. Justin commented that he felt like he found a treasure trove in our refrigerator. Amazing how food can appear and then disappear just as quickly.

  7. Yes! Congratulations, Sue, on your new home. What a perfect time to clean out all the stuff you've accumulated too. Have fun getting it set up and trying it out.

Lee - We have one of those dinner trains down the road from us too. Matter of fact, we're backed up almost on it's track but we do know the train on the track only runs once a week or we wouldn't be here. We're going to check it out also and may or may not take a ride.

Sandie - Glad you're getting the spring fixed. Hopefully, this means you'll be able to move forward with the rest of your summer plans.

We're heading back into Portland today. We sure had a "squall" come through here yesterday. It was one of those days that we didn't do much.

  8. I'm wondering if I can send some to Jeri to be washed away in all that rain...

HAHAHA ... we haven't had much rain. Actually, it's been just about perfect. However, from what our never-wrong weatherman is saying, we may be in for a few little bucketfuls this next week. Oh well ....

Probably not going to happen in July. Too many hours. I must be doing a good job cause she is asking me to do extra shifts.

Come this way, if you can.

    Hugs.

Of course, you're doing a good job. None of us would doubt it. We're not good at watching people work.

Our move today was more like 30 miles instead of the 25 I figured it would be. It was a long day as you can imagine. However, we ended up with a really nice site and right on the water, of course. After all the activity, we'll probably take it easy tomorrow or we might not. :D The Tillamook Cheese Factory isn't far and that's one of our weaknesses.

  9. We are in Bend Oregon now, getting closer. May be a few weeks before we get to your area. Got to plan with Jeri and Steve on how to get some crabs, bad whiskey and cran berry juice before that are all gone!!! You better not take too many more Steves before we arrive.

    Jerry

Today is moving day for us. It's a long drive. We have about 25 miles to go.

:D :D We had thought we'd hang around and wait for you but I'm guessing now by the time you work your way around we'll be gone ..... and so will the crabs. We'll probably head back inland next week.

Toni -- did you figure when you're going to take your little vacation?

  10. The last time I was in that area the earwigs ate all the rest of the bugs and drank up all my cranberry juice. I went to Junior High at Clover Park High School just south of Tacoma, WN The Earwigs ate the school too.

Change #14863. I've about decided to go south from here. (Rapid City) I want to Visit Pie Town, NM in late August. Many of my friends from the Slabs stay there in the summer. It's pretty high ground and there is a Free county park there that has no time restrictions. I also like the area just west of there in Alpine, AZ. I want to go there and see what the big fire did to the areas I like the best. I think they escaped un-harmed but I don't know for sure. I especially like the area around Luna Lake. Very high altitude and lots of Elk running around. Bear too but they can leave without bothering me if they like.

Dave C.-- Do you know if that Los Alamos fire is North or south of town and which way is it burning (Southwest to Northeast I presume) I want to know what areas might be in the smoke plume. Did you get you plumbing all done?

Very familiar with Tacoma and it's not my cup of tea either. We're on the coast so don't have the earwig problem either. It's much cooler and the wind blows more off the ocean but the skies are blue and it sure beats the stories everyone else has been telling about hot weather and tornadoes. Jerry and Janice are flying this way. I hope they have a jacket with them because the forecast is about to change!

Isn't it great that we get to change our minds? I still get a chuckle out of Loralie. She said I was the Queen of Flexibility and she was the Master of Scheduling. Maybe we need to learn a thing or two from each other .... or, maybe not.

  11. We're still sitting in Billings waiting for the leaf spring to show up. Supposed to be here today but I'll believe it when it actually happens. Jim went fishing yesterday. For trout this time. They caught 12 nice ones and threw back several along with the ones that released themselves. So it was a great catching day.

Now he'll want to go back to see if he can beat the last record! Hope you get that spring taken care of soon. Winter is coming and Montana gets a lot of snow!!

Lee --- Haven't seen any of those bugs here. We don't want to either. Of course, since they like it hot during the day and cool at night, they probably wouldn't want to come here. It's not hot during the day. B)

Hyders - I know the class map is still lying. You're not in Wyoming.

We're still at the beach and will be for a little while. Not sure where we'll head next but maybe a hundred miles or so north. I'm thinking much more than that and we'd have to put floats under the wheels.

  12. Jeri, Jeri, Jeri, don't you remember what we are supposed to tell folks about it raining ALL THE TIME here. :P Ok, I'll head for one of the islands........HMMMMMM I'm already on an Island, oh well you all have a GREAT day.

    Joe

Silly me! You're right, Joe. Actually, it is raining real hard here .... really, really hard. We just got out the raft so we could float the motorhome if we need to. :D

  13. Toni,

I have 3-30 amp plugins, however there is room for an additional couple of rigs to boondock. Heck you don't have to wait for everyone else, come on down. We'll figure out something to do. :)

Busy day today, started out with the weekly Coffee gathering where we settled ALL of the worlds problems. Then helped the neighbor bottle a batch of Cranberry juice. Had to make a trip to Home Cheapo, they had 3/4 inch sanded both sides plywood on sale. Got enough to finish the Cranberry Juice Room in the shop. Then got the Smoker cleaned up for doing another batch of Smoked Salmon tomorrow, started another batch of Cranberry Juice and am finally sitting done with a glass of Cranberry Juice to finish off the day. Hope everyone else had a GREAT day. Today was another of those days that make the PNW such a FANTASTIC place to be. Oh for all you folks from somewhere else, IT RAINED ALL DAY.

    Joe

HAHAHA ... it didn't rain all day. It was gorgeous! We drove inland to Portland today and after being on the coast, it seemed hot at mid-80's. Seaside was a perfect mid-70's. However, must admit it was a little bit breezy. No need to head to the mountains in Washington. Just head to the coast or one of the islands ...

  14. You're right. Some people are just plain dangerous and shouldn't be on the road. She obviously had no idea how close she came to getting hit. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a better day for you, IYQ.

Toni - Let us know your schedule. We might be able to make one of the next months into a 40-day month and try to visit. So far, family seems to have the first 30 days of each month already spoken for!! :D:D Well, you know I'm embellishing a bit.

We spent most of the day at the beach listening to the sound of the waves. You know those waves are really, really loud. It was so gorgeous and with all the holiday people gone we had most of the morning on the beach with just us. It was nice. Tomorrow we're heading into Portland. Next week we pick up the boat and Jordan for a week (perhaps) and Justin for about two weeks. Don't know what we'd do if we weren't so busy.

  15. Happy 4th everybody. Hope you all have a really great day and stay safe. No playing with fireworks.

It's a holiday so we thought we'd take the day off. This little beachie town is packed with people and we don't want to tangle with them. We'll only be here at the coast a few more days. The summer is flying by so fast and we have a lot of other things on our agenda. I just looked at my trusty little weatherman I keep in my phone and he says gorgeous sunny days with no rain for the next 6 days. We know he's always right. :D

  16. Jeri -

They outsource them here in Canada, at least in BC. The park I am working in is "owned by a couple" who have seven parks. This one runs really well. We get lots of compliments.

    Hugs.

    Toni

It just seems that the state parks are so much more expensive than most of the private parks. Outsourcing would certainly bring the price down and keep the parks open. At least that's my opinion even though it's not worth much.

JERI: I don't know that I'll be in Washington for sure I'm just stiring the jello and thinking what is possible. If they lowered their price to where Minnesotans could afford to use the parks they would earn enough to keep them open. They soak you $28 bucks to stay in a lousy park.

We've often thought if they lowered the price a tad too that the parks would be overflowing. It's kind of like the rides at a circus. The prices are so high to ride that they are usually empty.

You know I don't have a clue about "jello". Everything we do is written in stone (or was that chalk?) !! :D :D

Hope to see you as you head west again. Janice has carved a few wood spirits and needs to show you her work and get her second lesson from you.

    Jerry

"As you head west"? I'm beginning to think we'll be south by the time you arrive west.:lol:

  17. Hey Dave - it's 70 state parks which is 25% of the state parks in California. Dumb idea.

It's too bad they can't "outsource" those parks to private industry. The rates would go down and the parks would stay open ... perhaps.

Absolutely a gorgeous day at the beach today. The problem is it's going to be overrun with weekenders celebrating the holiday.

  18. Jeri, so sorry about the son, ouch, that doesn't even sound good.

We are parked in carol's sister's front yard.

So, when are you going to be in Washington in your other relative's front yard. And, where else are you heading in that area?

.... I'll head back through ND, MT and might even hit ID and WA. Then stay inland and go down through OR, NV into AZ and back to NM.

Kinda the same question to you. When and where are you going to be in Washington / Oregon?

We haven't decided whether we'll be around or not but thought I'd ask.

  19. HMMMMM hadn't really planned on putting in a tub, was just going with a shower. :P You folks have a Happy 4th also. Now I've got to get out and drop the Crab Pots in before Jeri and Terry get them all.

    Joe

HAHAHA ... today is the first day of crab season. And, there you were already out celebrating. (It's crab season, Joe, not crap season.) :D :D You're pretty safe since we probably won't be out crabbing for another week or so but then, look out! :D:D

  20. Make sure the boat is running good. Now that you have checked all Joe's good crabing and fishing spots, we can sneak in and catch them while he is hiding the cranberry juice,.

Are you kidding? Joe didn't show us squat! He hid the crab and doesn't fish. Or, he was just spoofing us. However, he certainly has quite a supply of cranberry juice!

  21. We are in Jackson Hole, Wy and still heading North and then we will head west. May go to Glacier and then head your way or may just go to the coast, plans are in jello. We do plan on going to see you and Jeri within 30 days.

    Jerry

Hmm Hmmm Within 30 days? What in case you can't find us? We probably will scrap those reservations I sent you because the latter part of the month was based on our son spending some of his vacation at the coast with us. However, now that he's having surgery and can't drive to the coast, that won't happen. We will probably run back and pick up the boat next week. We had the new top put on but once we did, then we realized we also wanted the back cover done too. It's supposed to be finished this week. Let us know when you get close .............. :D :D

  22. We're looking to replace our Wilson amplifier. It's not that it doesn't work great. It does a fantastic job. However, I think we want to go wireless where the amplifier will work on more than one item at a time. Currently we have to connect it with the cable to one aircard. I'm thinking a wireless one would work for the 2 aircards and 2 cellphones. There are several different kinds so want to find something that will actually work as good as the present one we have only on all units. Anyone have a wireless amplifier that works for all cell signals?

  23. Well, we're in the perfect spot at Seaside. However, our son spent last night at the emergency room. Evidently he ruptured the tendon that connects the heel to the calf of his leg while playing volleyball. Ouch! Now we're trying to decide whether we should just head inland and hang it up for the coast this year. We'll probably make a trip to Portland today and then a decision about moving ourselves after he talks to the surgeon. I guess I don't need to say what a fun time we've had this year with all the doctors and such.
